Having trouble playing Terran vs Toss? Are those DT rushers invading your base just a little too early? If not DT’s, then its the range upgraded goons and zealots hammering you. I feel your pain fellow Terran players. Here is a battle report that may enlighten a few central nervous systems.

Map: Showdown (notice its not lost temple, I have come to the conclusion that any protoss player worth his salt can beat a terran on temple with relative ease)

Me (rating 1179) = Terran at the top.
New_Accont (rating 1180) = Toss at bottom.

Ok, now that we have observed that Showdown, Dire straits, and Fading realm are fairly good maps for Terrans to conquer protoss players on, lets get to the strategies of the game.
I Start with a straight power economy build order seeing that an early rush is suicide here. I don’t send Billy out to scout until I have a racks started on my 12th scv . Thats right Billy was the scout’s name, and let me tell yah, Billy is a bastard.

I bunker up with two bunkers on both sides of my Command Center cause I know that Bastard Billy sometimes gets crazy and builds shit close to the protoss players base to totally mess up their early game.

Billy did it. He built a barracks right beside the divide that separates the Island Base from the Starting Spot. I told yah that Billy was a bastard. Billy scouted first to see 3 gateways and no gas being taken yet.

I get gas at home and when my sneaky barracks gets done I float it over to his plateau behind his minerals. Two measly marines start pounding on the middle of his peon line.
Billy has been hiding and sneaks out to see about 5 pissed off zealots coming up the map.
Billy runs and hides.

Two factories have been started back at the base and the 2 bunkers are my only defense when the zealots arrive. I get comstat and start researching spider mines and a vulture to help kill the zealots that he is running around my base trying to find a crack in the defense.

Two goons run off my marines on the ledge so I make a medic. The medic combined with the high ground advantage kills the goons and continues to kick his economy in the balls.

SPIDER MINES RESEARCH IS COMPLETE. I go spider mine crazy and put up missile turrets and mines around key spots in my base to stop a drop cold and stop observers from seeing my spider mines, and of course I load down my choke point with 5 mines.

He rushes to a shuttle and drops 2 zealots and a goon to stop the marines on the cliff. I float the barrack that Billy built away to do more dirty deeds later in the game…..
I try vulture raids and do some damage but a well placed cannon and goons stop the harassment. A shuttle with a probe trys a cannon drop on my ledge but I have seige ready and waiting. The mines at my choke start going off and DT’s start vaporizing.

I expand to the island and get sci vessels to detect my way to the middle of the map where he has DT’s. I seige and bunker up there at the middle of the map choke point and fortify it very well. I do so with 3 tanks, two bunkers and a turret. I’m leaving something out…..Oh yah! Spider mines. I put turrets on the right side of the map in the middle so no shuttles can get by and on the left I put spider mines and two wraiths to catch an ill fated drop.

From this point it just gets ugly. I hold the choke point and all the map basically with great recon and wraith cloaking assaults. Two major attempts to break my choke point in the middle occur but spider mines kills 4 goons, 2 zealots and one high templar before the attack even begins. I loved it. Winning with vultures just makes the whole day better.
The second and last attempt to take the middle was stopped by irradiating the force of mostly upgraded zealot and scanning to see the build-up of zealots and making firebats to counter them.

Ghosts from the Barrack that Billy Built finish the day with nukes and a little help in the form of D-matrix to stop that nasty psi storm from killing the ghosts.
