I was looking for a game after a hard day's sales, when I stumbled into this game. I got banned out of 3 previous games, so I was at the 'take what you can get' mode of thought. Temple? Suuurrree....
So we squared off.
Outlaw was Korean. Or at least I think so, due to the screwed up text near the game request. In any case, my strategy was simple: Share the Love
I did a screwed up build. Damn! I went 8 Refinery, 9 depot, 11 Rax. I must say to you, don't play like this at home! This is a shitty build. It reeked.
Now that I had things pretty fouled up from the get-go, I decided to really screw things up by keeping Deon at home. No off-work cruisin' around time. I cancelled his leave (I actually forgot to send him out). He really didn't love that.
My plan was dropship punishment (I call it tough-love). Pure and simple. Drop where I can, whenever I can, all day long.
There are a few recommended strats for terran v. terran on temple:
Dropship punishment (direct assault or contain)
Vulture/Tank push (direct assault)
Hard wraiths (contain)
All of them are quite good. If I had to choose the most powerful strat of the 3, I'd choose dropship, only because my infantry micro is so powerful. It suits my play style.
If I was a better macro player, Hard wraiths are the way to go, due to wraiths not sucking so bad vs. Terran. That, and it's a strong transition to BC's, with the upgrades being available to support both the wraiths and the BC's.
This is what I'd recommend to the majority of terran players.
Good luck with the vulture rush/tank push. People use it. Sometimes it works. The only problem with it is that tanks eat it for breakfast.
Now back to the love...
His evil, yet disciplined SCV scouted my base quite nicely, and was able to see what kind of shape I was in. Sensing a very bad thing about to happen, I built a bunker at my choke and stocked it full of marines. He didn't attack. Fine by me. I don't want that kind of love.
So I finished up 1 rax and a factory (I think this might be a better build vs. another terran. I'm not really loving the results of rax, rax, factory, starport. I think I prefer rax, factory, starport, rax). I pop out a Vulture! Deon has now got a new pair of wheels! He was so happy! You should have seen him. He was the cat's pajamas. He was looking around the base for a few women to pick up, but couldn't find any out in the field (no medics yet). He was bummed.
His intercom blared on...
'Heartcutter to Deon'
'Deion here. What can I do ya for?'
'Deon. Go scout out the plateau at 245-090'
'Roger that sir. Deion out!'
So with his orders, he whipped out of base so fast, people got whiplash from turning their heads. He's leaving a huge roostertail of dust behind him as he heads toward his destination. He reached the ramp leading to the plateau faster than anyone imagined. His superfast bike shining in the alien sun. He's faster than anything...
...anything except for a bullet.
As he approaches the ramp he encounters a bunker with marines stationed inside. These troops were different. They were well disciplined (not like mine). They were uniformed in red (not like mine). They were not having any fun (not like mine), and worst of all, they were not drinking malt liquor (not like mine).
They did not love Deon. They did not love his shiny new Kawazaki Vulture 350 crusin' machine.
So they blew him up. Blew him up REAL good.
At that moment, I knew we at war. I would not share the coveted contents of my 'fridge with these guys. Buy Your Own Beer, jerkoffs!
So I had no info on their base, other than a bunker at the choke.
He's doing secret stuff in there. Gonna drop him.
One thing about my messed up build, was that I had a lot of gas. Gas=Tech in my book, and I could get to dropships sooner than he could. So that was the plan. I loaded up 1 ship with a tank and 4 marines and proceeded to lay down the smack.
It went well. Lots of SCVs fell to the magnetic rounds of the gauss rifles. It was a good time to be a marine. Eventually he fought it off. he killed the marines and stormed the tank with the SCVs. Ah well.
So you know what I did next? I dropped him again! This time with 1 medic and 7 marines. Did a little more damage. This time he fended it off with a pair of wraiths.
I killed some, he killed some.
Then I did it again! Wait, scratch that. He shot down the shuttle before it could drop it's 2 tanks.
I however, gained the initiative. I just had to make sure the wraiths didn't kill me. I commanded 4 turrets to be built around my base ASAP! And the order didn't come too soon!
4 wraiths appeared overhead. Stupid wraiths.
We had a little game where I would build a missile tower, and he would shoot at the scv building it. But I was faster, and would replace the scv if it got dusted. Attack fended off...I love it.
I also expanded to my natural and constructed a turret there. He found it shortly thereafter. Just a little too late though. Go away. No beer here!
I scanned his natural and found that he was trying to expand as well.
Turbo newbie baby, turbo newbie!
But first, let's try just legging it over.
I brought over a mix of marines and medics and just sat in his gas line with it. Whee! What fun!
So I started floating over to 3:00 and did more consolidation than anything else. Putting up tanks, bunkers, the usual.
My little force was under attack. Under attack by a BIG force of M&M and tanks. Shucks! This blew chunks.
Now he was coming to my house. No he was not going to raid my fridge. No, no, NO!
He had 2 tanks, about 16 M&M and 4 wraiths heading for my base, after he killed my little group. I had...um...4 marines in a bunker at my natural, and a medic at my natural. And a tank in a dropship.
That's it.
Code Red, Code Red! 'This is not a Drill! I repeat, This is not a Drill!'
2 marines rolled out of the barracks and straight into the choke defenses. The dropship with the tank stationed it near the turret. More tanks were being built. That damn organized army came calling.
They were coming. A foreign ideology.
We were going to stop them.
'Life, liberty, and the love of beer!'
They began sieging up. The were kept out of range, due to my sieged tank. Up came the marines. Down they went. His wraiths focused on my tank and beat it down fairly quickly, but the bunker and the turret were waging a war of attrition on those wraiths.
I was holding on by my fingernails. 3 heroic SCVs continued to repair the bunker, even under the withering fire. I needed help.
I called on the troops at the natural with the medic. They were brought in to save the day. It was Dante's inferno up on that ridge, and we needed some love. So the medic brought us the love, and together we pushed them back.
Now it was time for some smack.
One load of dropship personnel on his ridgeline made life fairly difficult for him. Coupled with some expansion action, it was gonna get tasty.
Now it was a resource game. I like it that way. I fixed up my exps and built my sci facility. Eat ghosts. Valks too.
Nuclear Launch detected.
The nuke fell hard. But the SCV's got away. Coupled with the damage that the CC took from offending wraiths, my natural exp was destroyed.
That right. I GOT NUKED!!! But more importantly, the resounding shockwave made me SPILL MY BEER!
I had to rebuild that base from scratch. But I had the resources pouring in from my 3:00 exp. so it wasn't too awful. I immediately began a new CC within the radioactive ruins, and grabbed a paper towel to wipe off my keyboard.
40 oz of beer is a lot of beer. And I have a big love of beer. Big beer.
Nuclear launch detected.
Again?? Bastich! I'm getting annoyed here! He targetted my 3:00 exp with the dot. I exited the bunker with my defending marines stimmed, and scanned the vicinity.
With a cry of 'No one steals our beer!' my marines mowed into the ghost.
I'll condense the end. Basically I expanded to the 9:00 natural. He tried to expand to 6 and brought a sizeable group there. Seeing all of these forces on the move to protect the new expansion allowed me to muster my forces for an assault on his main. I eventually came into his base with loads of marines, tanks, medics and ghosts. It worked. After a little bit of lockdown, his main was toast.
Lessons learned:
-Don't build 8 ref, 9 depot
-Stick to one of the preset attack modes beforehand
-When you've got the opportunity, kick his economy in the balls
-Watch where you put your beer. You could lose the game because of it

 Shoo! Shoo! Waskly waith!
I'll Roshambo you for it!!! Here, I'll go first....
The slobs vs. the prats. FYI, when I issued these marines armor, it was ivory white.
Dammit! Now my lap is all wet!
