Well, gentle readers, our map today is Blizzard's "Flooded Plains",
offering 192x192 tiles upon which blood may be spilled.

The field of battle.
Our commanders consist of:
Teal Protoss - your humble host, at top right
Blue Protoss - my ally, at bottom left
vs.
Yellow Terran - mid-left
Orange Protoss - bottom right
The early minutes of the game are spent building up our bases.
Yellow builds a depot, cancels it, builds a refinery, depot, barracks,
depot, ebay.
Orange opts for pylon, pylon, gateway, pylon, forge.
Blue does pylon, pylon, forge, gateway, cannon, pylon, cannon.
I pylon, gateway, gateway, assimilator, pylon, pylon.
Not knowing the map, I take a probe and click around the minimap to
locate my enemies. After a fruitless search in the northwest corner,
the trusty probe discovers evidence of SCVs mining, and dutifully
relays the intelligence to blue. Moments later, it finds OJ's mineral
line, and I take the opportunity to peep at his base.
OJ's fearless zealots take umbrage at my voyeuristic actions, and give
chase.
Taunt only works in
Diablo, moron.
Meanwhile, seeing that OJ's sentries are otherwise occupied, blue sends
two zealots to OJ's mineral line.

Gee, ya think maybe ya should've
built those extra Zs sooner?
Fully half of the enemy probes are messily shredded by psi blades
before blue's
incursion is beaten back by OJ's returning sentries. (For those of you
who are curious, my scout got away. Oh the Aiurny!)
Having located my opponents, I decide that DTs are the way to go, and
busy myself climbing the tech tree. Meanwhile, orange attempts to
recover from his early setback by pumping Zs from his one gateway.
Yellow has clearly opted for infantry; upgrading weapon damage and
marine range, while working on stim, armour, and madly pumping recruits
from his two barracks. Blue, sensing yellow's increasing
aggressiveness, plunks down four cannons at the front of his base to deter enemy infantry.
Orange, incensed at blue's economic attack, takes his anger out on an
innocent ursadon.
Unfortunately for blue, OJ's hunting ground is right in blue's back
yard. Five marching blue zealots, ordered not to engage the enemy, are
ambushed by four orange zealots on a bridge. In the cramped quarters,
blue's troops have nowhere to run, and are handily defeated.

It is a good day to die.
Orange
sends his zealots on a suicide mission to blue's back door, which is
now defended by a cannon and zealots. Yellow, seeing blue's troops
engaged, sends ten marines and two medics to the opposing base and
prepares for combat.

You wanna piece of me, cannons?
Seeing all this activity, I estimate that orange's strength has been
sufficiently depleted for my five Zs and one goon. I bring my troops to
OJ's northern entrance. It is guarded by a single cannon, and OJ's
single
gateway has no chance of repelling my strike force. Inevitably, the
orange nexus is razed to the ground.
At this point, orange recognises that he's done for, and graciously
admits defeat. However, before anyone can so much as type "GG", OJ
confesses that he fears we had ulterior motives in gaming with him.

No offense, but you're not my type.
As a second wave of yellow's troops destroys blue's fortifications, a
probe sneaks out to expand in a safer place. Meanwhile, OJ attempts to
explain his lacklustre performance.

OJ is obsessed.
Wait a second...
Say,
this pic looks familiar... Doesn't that say five minutes?
Once the orange base is destroyed, I send my battle-hardened warriors
to assist blue's main base. The terran infantry stands ground, and cuts
down the reinforcements with a hailstorm of U-238 shells. But, no
matter, for my DT have arrived, and encounter no detectors in yellow's
headquarters.
As the match draws to a close, yellow makes an attempt to salvage his
dignity.
Yeah,
well, he's not the only one.
And thus ends this battle report.
Many thanks to
Mr. Shakespeare for providing the alt-text.
