Me: bottom right Zerg
Partner: top left Prot
Enemy: top right orange Zerg
Enemy: left red Terran
After beating the living crap out of some idiots, me and my partner decided to go pubbie.
I went two early expansions, taking one on the brown part to the south of Red and ther other to my right. Red camped outside my main with vultures, tanks, and goliaths, and I just made mutas until I had enough to kill Red, even though he was harassing me with vultures. His forces died.
My partner was building to fight the terran when suddenly, out of nowhere, two defilers Dark Swarm his cannons and about 48 zlings reduce him to nothing! Oooh... shit, I think to myself. I continue to make mutas. My partner makes an expansion to the right of the enemy zerg, and attacks the Terran as his base is being destroyed. The Terran loses several buildings before finally being able to repulse the attack. I put some mutas over near Red to finish him off.
Then, guess what! I forgot all about Orange. His defilers/adrenalings come over to me and do the same thing they did to my partner. Groan. My main is gone, but I still have a lot of mutas, I killed some zlings, and I still can pull through.. maybe. A zling force also kills my left expansion and I have one more, some minerals, and quite a few mutas.
I attack Orange, and kill a cocoon before five devourers morph out of theirs. Ugh. I kill the devourers and maraud Orange to near-death, then go over to top left and butcher his expansion. I'm grinning sadistically now, and I have a Spire again. Red has ONE harassing Valk.
(rant)VALKS SUCK. One Valk on one Muta should NOT be a close fight, but it is! Blizzard, make Valks either do more damage, do normal damage, cost less, or shoot a smaller area with more missiles. Right now, the only way Valks beat Mutas is in great numbers. Compare them to Corsairs. Nuff said.(/rant)
Now it's time to contain Red. I kill two command centers he's building, and avoid his main. Orange tries to expand to the mid-left brown spot and my old left spot, but I kill them both. Red is unwilling to leave his base for some reason.
I make 36+ mutas, send 3 OLs, kill the harassing wraiths, and turn Red into tomato paste :) For the first time in months, I said gg because it actually was.
Sorry for the lack of battle shots - didn't really intend to make a BR until I realized how good the game was.
(There ya go, MikeyMonty, you wanted a game where someone comes back from losing a main? Well, both of us did, and we ruled them in the end :)) |
