Hi guys, this is my second battlereport. I got a lot of suggestions last time, mostly telling me to either work on my writing style, or to add pictures, so hopefully I can go into the comments section and hear that I've improved. This game took place recently, and its between me and Folkensan. Enjoy!

The game opens with me at 12, as teal zerg, and Folkensan at 6 as white protoss. I opt to build my pool at 12 and then place a hatchery at the top of my ramp to place defenses against the early rush. Folk gets a pylon at 8 and proceeds to get a gateway, an assimilator, and another pylon.

Shortly after my hatchery has been placed, Folk gets a cybernetics core, moving towards a stargate for a corsair rush. My hatchery is finished just after he builds the stargate, and I set up sunken colonies there.

Folk's stargate finishes, and he wastes no time producing a corsair as I start morphing my lair. It flies quickly into my base to harrass my overlords; however, it flies through my base twice before encountering the only overlord that is not away. The additional time allows me to produce two hydralisks with my freshly built hydralisk den, and the two beasts discourage the corsair from assaulting the overlord. My lair has finished at this point, and an expansion to the mineral only below my base does as well, augmenting my income.

The corsair flies southward, locating another overlord who is returning from scouting. Killing the undefended overlord, it proceeds northwest

and then back south. During its jaunt, my accumulated army of hydralisks and zerglings proceed southward to Folk's base. Finding the ramp unblocked, they proceed into his base and encounter five zealots. The zealots attack them, falling back as the zerg force attacks them, and re-engaging the hydralisks and zerglings when they begin to assault Folk's buildings. The pattern continues for a while, as the zerg destroy a gateway. The zealots engage them again, and all but one die, leaving three hydralisks and a few zerglings. The zerg destroy another gateway, and the remaining zealot attacks, killing one zergling and luring the others to death at the photon cannons. The last zealot and a force of probes finally destroy the remaining three hydralisks.

By now, Folk has a templar archives, and

he begins producing dark templar from his gateways. I have researched overlord speed, and send more hydralisks to his base, along with an overlord. As my hydralisks reach his base, they encounter a pair of dark templar, and begin to take hits. The

overlord has not yet reached, so the hydralisks are unable to retaliate against their hidden foes. I lose three hydralisks to the dark templar before my overlord arrives to provide detection. A pair of dragoons and two dark templar engage my hydralisks as they attack the buildings. Though they are killed, they manage to raze one of the gateways.

Soon after the attack, both of us take our naturals. Folk has gotten reavers during the fighting, and I have lurkers. Very shortly after the expansions are complete, I send a force of hydralisks, zerglings, and four lurkers down to attack Folk, engaging the zealots, dragoons, and reavers there. I attack the lone photon cannon defending the base, hoping to kill as many probes as I can with my lurkers. His reavers and dragoons take out my hydralisks, but not before the photon cannon goes down. My

lurkers move into position and destroy a portion of the probes. A newly arrived high

templar storms the lurkers, killing one. The remaining lurker prevents him from mining for a while, then is picked up by an overlord as soon as my drop tech is finished.

Folk has level 2 attack upgrades, so I place two evolution chambers at my mineral only expansion and research attack and armor upgrades for my hydralisks. I also attempt to expand to the 9 o' clock natural, however a patrolling dark templar uncovers the attempt and prevents it. I gather some overlords and begin loading my army into them for a drop into Folk's main.

Folk has taken his min only, and his forces are stationed there as the overlords arrive at his base for the drop. My hydralisks manage to destroy a gateway and a few photon cannons before the first of his forces arrives to defend. I pull the majority of my army away from his forces and focus fire his archives, destroying them, then engage the defending forces; however, reavers and storm kill off my army quickly as soon as the hydralisks are close enough.

I move new forces to attack his mineral only, and set up a flank. Unfortunatley, poor calculation prevent the flank from doing any damage; most of the hydralisks are butchered by storm, and the remaining are too outnumbered to survive. I proceed to take the

northwestern island.

Folk expands to the 9 o' clock main, and the base is found by a scouting overlord. A fresh army of hydralisks moves to prevent him from successfully setting up a base there. The hydralisks encounter some dark templar, zealots, dragoons, and an archon holding the ramp to Folk's new expansion, and the overlord is called up to reveal the dark templar. Folk sends forces from his main to defend the
expansion, and they arrive as the hydralisks destroy a gateway. Coupled with some zealots from the remaining gateways, they dispatch the hydralisks.

Another group of hydralisks proceeds to Folk's expansion to finish destroying it. The expansion is only lightly defended, and it falls as my hydralisks push through it, but as they assaulted it, Folk sends his army up to destroy my mineral only base, as well as both of my evolution chambers, then proceed to attack my choke. The few hydralisks that are there put up some resistance, but are quickly felled by reavers, storm, and zealots. My attack force rushes to defend the base, and
destroy a portion of Folk's army, but all but two hydralisks are slain. Folk moves his forces up to my natural, and quickly destroy most of the drones. The two surviving hydralisks have morphed into lurkers, and chase away the protoss, killing a dragoon.

Folk deposits the reaver in my main, knocking out my gas income there, then proceeds to move it to my island expansion.

Folk takes the 3 o' clock base, and situates his army outside of my base. My income is in shambles, yet I continue to produce hydralisks to fight off the reavers at my island. The reaver dies, but I am left with barely enough defense to stop a few zealots. Folk's army pushes into my base and we exchange gg's.

Thanks to Folk for the game, and to everyone out there who gave me suggestions, proofread the text, and otherwise helped me. The replay of the game can be found here. Gogo comment.
