At the end of his long post, David submitted the finished work. There had been a few people on the forum that didn't like flossing their teeth and saw absolutely no
reason to floss, so David thought it would be a good idea to prove them wrong.

"I'm not trying to be a smartass," David thought to himself, "I just think they should know why flossing is a good thing, and why they should do it every day!" David got up out of his chair after a long period of typing. His stomach was growling. "I think I'll go have a sandwich," he said to himself. He walked over to the kitchen in his parent's apartment, and got out the bread, turkey, and cheese. He loved a good turkey sandwich, and he fealt he deserved one after what a nice deed he did on the forums by helping those misinformed people out.

He finished the sandwich and sat down at his computer desk. He refreshed the forum page that he was currently viewing, and to his delight, he saw his new thread about flossing had already gotten two replies. He eagerly clicked on the link to view his thread, and scrolled down to see the replies, expecting much thanks.

He couldn't have been more wrong.

The first reply started with this obcene picture:

Right when David saw the word "fuck" he was stunned. David was only 12 years old, and he was just trying to help these people out, but when something like this was posted in his thread, he was confused if anything. There was some text under the picture in the first reply. David read on:

"listen u fukin stupid lil cunt! we dont need your trash on our message board. its already cramemd full of worthless shit that we dont need and have no use for. flossing sucks, and so do you. mods, ban this stupid faggot, LOL."

After reading the reply, David was stunned. He didn't know what to do or think. David didn't even know what a cunt was, and here he was reading this huge flame towards him, that even had a ban request in it for posting something helpful to the community? David didn't know what to think. He was litterally frozen with shock.

Eventually he summoned the strength to roll the mouse wheel back and view the second reply, he hoped this would somehow make him feel better.

The second reply was just a picture, and here it was:

David had to sign off Internet Explorer after that. This was all just too much for him. Why was this happening? Why was a simple, kind guesture being greeted with such hostility? What did he do to deserve these flames? These were just a few of the many questions racing through David's small head. He didn't realize it at the time, and neither did I, but David was a small boy, lost in the game of men.

David couldn't take it anymore, he sat down on his bed and went to sleep.

The next morning David awoke, and his mother called him downstairs for breakfast. She made him a bowl of cereal and was quickly out the door to her job. Summer vacation just started a week ago for David, so luckily he didn't have anywhere to go. He ate his cereal and watched some cartoons when he was done.

The shows got dull after awhile, and he wondered what he should do. He then remembered: The post on the message board. That will keep him entertained for a little while.

Being the small kid that he was, he forgot why he stopped looking at the forum in the first place, and when he signed on on his computer, he was again delighted to see his thread had 4 new replies. He quickly opened it up and saw what the new replies were.

The emotion that was in David now wasn't confusion. It wasn't sadness. It was anger. Pure, unaltered anger. He was seething as he looked at the screen. How can these people be so insensitive? Especially this moron named TIME is not on YOUR SIDE? They don't even back up their arguments! What is wrong with this forum?

He decided it was time to fight back, David clicked the reply button and began his reply to his own thread. It read as follows:

"I can't take this anymore! You people should be ashamed of yourselves. All I did was post some helpful information to people who wanted to learn why flossing was important, and you people flamed me to death! Why? What did I do wrong? Someone tell me! I would like to know! You people make me sick!"

He submitted the post, still seething with rage. He sat on his computer chair, eager to await how people would respond to his reply. He thought they would apologize and end up thanking him for his well thought out post about flossing.

Five minutes later, he clicked the refresh button on his browser. There was one new reply to his thread besides his own. He clicked on it and saw this:

"Hahaha! fuck off, loser, no one loves you anyway."

David couldn't take it anymore. He couldn't. In his blind rage, he ran into his mother room and opened up her cabinet drawer.

You can only guess what happened next.

10 minutes after his death, there was a new reply to the thread he made:

"Hey man, thanks for the info. I probably should floss more now. Ignore the immature flames and keep on posting, thanks!"
