fanfic, The Unexpected Colony: Part 3

Hi again. To see Part 1, click here. To see Part 2, click here. This document was made on 1024*768.

In case you haven't realised yet, two determined Terran and Protoss Commanders are being pitted against a short-tempered Terran Commander and two perverted Zerg Cerebrates. :P

Fanfic: The Unexpected Colony, Part 3

"Ik, there is an incoming raid from the south-west. I repeat, there is an incoming raid from the south-west," Danny Ormay declared. They still hadn't got respite from the mindless Zerg and the ferocious rebel Terrans. 2 more months, and they hadn't made more progress since they did from a few years ago. The double Zerg and Terran were slowly gaining power, and the Terrans were receding.

"Okay. launch the triple nuke when I say so. 1... 2... 3... Now!"

Blaring from all the system monitors was NUCLEAR LAUNCH DETECTED.

After a split second, NUCLEAR LAUNCH DETECTED sounded again.

After yet another split second, NUCLEAR LAUNCH DETECTED sounded as Ikryoen and his mates tensed, waiting, hoping that it would succeed, as the Dropship flew hastily away.

I once quintuple nuked myself.

Meanwhile, a thousand kilometres away, hundreds of mindless Hydralisks, Devourers, Guardians, Zerglings (also known to the Ikryoen service as 'cracklings'), Ultralisks, Defilers, Queens, Scourge and even the odd Mutalisk or two were gathering up a few kilometres away from the outskirts of the base.

"Fuck. Look at that. How are we going to beat all that, Ik?" Ryan, one of Ikryoen's lieutenants, exclaimed vehemently, pointing at the second-old ComSat screenshot.

"How to beat that?" I'll tell you how to beat that," Ikryoen replied.

"How, man, how?"

"Set an universal record, man."

This is why I prefer WarCraft III sometimes.

"Crap. What now?" exclaimed Jake. He had been ahead for a while now, but one of his expansions was completely demolished, and he was now down to only two running sites.

"Do not worry. What has remained of our Overlord patrols has seen the ghosts... pointing right on the Command Center you are residing in."

"SHIT! Guys, get your asses movin! If that triple falls, we're gone. Did you hear that?" Jake barked. He had never been so angry or worried in all his life, even as a former Vulture pilot.

The Wraith pilots moved around, eager to spot the shimmer that always happened when you cloaked, or giving up their lives to stop the nuke.

"Guys! 10 secs! HURRY UP!!!"

Suddenly, one of the pilots spotted the nuke, and charged straight towards it.

The ghosts had also lost its cloaking power and quickly splattered across the bare desert land of Tehnon.

The few Wraiths that were following the original one shot the nukes, which started to leak and fell onto the compartments. Ignoring the concentrated hydrochloric acid sizzling into the compartment, the Wraith pilots showed no fear at all and the Wraiths' transmitters blew up as soon the nuke collided with the ships.

Ikryoen's three nukes exploded in mid-air, showering the whole base. People in SCV suits and in Bunkers shrieked and shouted as the chemicals came in contact with them. One of the Tanks exploded as acid showered onto it. Jake cursed and counted the losses. 6 SCVs, 4 Marines, 2 Tanks, 3 Goliaths, 1 Firebat, 2 Medics, 1 Vulture, 2 Missile Turrets and a Bunker.

It could have been much more worse.

I hate counting losses.

Ikryoen was having much larger problems. The offensive had already started. An endless bunch of mindless Zerg minions literally scaled the cliff, unaware that they were going to die any time next second.

"Hey. Dilih! You got those reinforcements?"

"Yes. They are coming, but very slowly."

Ikryoen sighed with relief. A few dozen Carriers were slowly bobbing towards the battle (like the blimps/hotdogs they are). Hundreds of shuttles flew across the barren lands, carrying assorted ground units, mostly High Templar and Reavers.

Hundreds and hundreds of Zerg units died, their guts spreading on the planet surface, yet more and more came, their bodies mindless. Carriers came onto the scene, the little fighters they call interceptors and themselves seeming almost invincible by the endless Shield Batteries that were repairing their shields.

More Zerg units died, but the Swarm was so great that they were forced to retreat to their last line of defense: their main.

All outer defenses were lost, but the Zerg Cerebrate was slowly running out of attackers.

Suddenly, an enormous wave of Scourge, possibly a few thousand, came from Unos. All the air units, except the Shuttles, were blown apart. High Templar threw well-placed and well-controlled storms everywhere, finally clearing the base of Zerg attackers.

Yet the damage had been done. All the outer defenses had been destroyed and half the base was gone too. Commander Ikryoen was keen to have a chat with Dilih.

"Hi. Ik here. Do you think we can lend us a hand?"

"Yes. I have." He then signalled to a dozen hard-working probes, opening warp rifts to hundreds of cannons next to reluctant siege tanks.

"Okay, thanks then. What happened to the nuke?"

"Wraith pilots suicided themselves against the nuke. However, the remnants of the nuke have weakened their base."

"Hmm. It seems like we'll need to attack hard and only when we're all prepared."

"I will think about that."

"I'll talk to you later."

How do you set a background without the report screwing up?

Jake rethought: "Oh well. It could have been much more worse. What happened to the south-west again?"

"It was reasonably done. My attackers destroyed all enemy defenses. They also attacked and destroyed half the base." Auralpistol replied.

"Good good. Do you think that we should initiate an enormous attack?"

"Yes. We will need to. Definitely."

"By the way, is there anything you want?"

"May I please borrow those lesbian 'pornography' magazines?"

"Sure. We'll deliver a whole load by a Dropship later, but just wait. A group of our lesbo medics are having a gloat at the moment."

The aftermath.

Unaware that both sides had formed plans to end the battle once and for all, both sides started to build up, or in the case of Unos and Auralpistol, looking at the porn magazines while telling their hatcheries to continually hatch their beloved fighters from larvae.

Ikryoen had discovered good routes for attack, while Dilih was gathering troops and waiting for agreement to attack.

Unfortunately, Jake Oboe was doing exactly the same thing as Ikryoen and had discovered routes no-one had ever seen before.

"Hehe. This will give them a huge shock," he told Unos, pointing at a not-so-narrow canyon that led right to the work line of one of Dilih's bases.

It had been a few years already, and the war was going to end.

It would start in only a week...

What do you think so far, .Praetor? (if he's reading this).

"Come on! Move on! The attack will start in only half an hour!" barked Paul, one of the more brash Master Sergeants. The attack was due to start any moment, which explained the nervous tension, the excitement, and the bitter loud crying from families.

In Dilih's base closest to the nearest Zerg base, thousands of troops gathered up like the Taliban trying to fend off a nuke by sending people to physically block it.

In the two Zerg bases, almost a million units gathered, mindless, ready for the final Swarm. Jake's Terrans were of similar character to Ikroyen's, determined, excited and fearful.

"Okay. It's time. Good luck all of you." said Ikroyen, whose grave voice boomed in all four corners on the base.

All kinds of units surfaced out of the outskirts of Dilih's highly cramped base, the planned outpost for attack. The extent of the cramp was so much that by the time the last unit, a speedy Vulture, surfaced out of the cannon-filled base, the first reavers had already surfaced in the Zerg base.

Meanwhile, the Zerglings had already started attacking the Terran base through a narrow chokepoint. Hundreds of Zerglings were picked off one by one by the Bunker filled with firebats, yet Ikryoen knew that they would eventually break through.

The gigantic battle had officially begun.

Only one thing: the war obviously depends on this battle.

The first reavers had surfaced in the cloudy Zerg base. Techno-blue scarabs slid out of their reavers' pockets, destroying all that was not covered by the orange cloud.

Then came the tanks. Most of them sieged, only to be able to get one shot in because of greedy Zerglings and enormous Ultralisks.

Devourers and Guardians filled the air, shooting their acid spores. Mighty BattleCruisers and commanding Carriers fell to Scourge, which were suiciding against anything that attacked anything not owned by Unos, Auralpistol, or Jake.

Retaliation came in the form of High Templar from Dilih, which stormed all the Zerg minions, the orange cloud not helping matters.

Infantry sliced across, compliments from Ikryoen, who went high on drugs while being healed by the *cough* sexy *cough* medics. They cut through everything in their path, the infantry killing everything in their way, sadly not killing as many as the number of T_Mac disconnects ever.

However, both Ikryoen and Dilih groaned as BattleCruisers, Valkyries, Wraiths and the odd Science Vessel or two soared above the horizon.  More High Templar were being ordered at home to combat this threat.

gogogo heavy air

Back at the Terran expansion, things were not going well. The endless stream of Zerglings had finally finished off the bunker, killing every firebat inside, and the whole base was destroyed (except all floatables) with minimal losses (at least for Zerg).

Ikryoen cursed, and pushed further in the Zerg base. One of them was destroyed, but many more were to come. At least 1000 Zerg units gathered in his former base, ready to strike when given the order to.

I've already told you

Back at the Zerg base, the heavy air units were finally defeated when a supply's worth of High Templar broke through and literally blanketing the Air Units. The few that survived retreated, cloaked, back to Jake's main base for treatment. The Zerg base was destroyed, and already SCVs were unloaded from Dropships to commence repairs and static defense.

How do you view War3 screenshots? Seriously, I don't know. If you tell me in a detailed manner, my promise is that I will make two (half)-decent War3 reports.

Back at Dilih's base, Guardians were pounding on cannons just as High Templar let loose their blanketing Psionic Storms on those crab-like creatures. Most of them exploded in mid-air. Enraged at such a loss, the two Zerg Cerebrates sent in all they had, which was still around 1000 units. All Dilih had for defense was loads of cannons and just the original templar. Corsairs were sent in to save the main base, their Neutron Flares slowing exposing the creatures to easy attack.

Speedy Vultures, clumsy Goliaths and lumbering Siege Tanks moved across.

Mine were laid, which immediately sped across and blew apart a large chunk of Hydralisks.

The goliaths' Charon missiles dealt with the Guardians and Mutalisks effectively, however, and pretty soon the floating hulks fell from the sky and crashed onto a nearby cliff.

The Siege tanks' hydraulic noise of sieging meant that the end was near for the attackers. The BOOM sound of the arcilite shock cannon shot its battery load and a bunch of Zerglings collapsed on the spot. Seconds later all Zerg attackers were lost, with very few losses, except that nearly all the buildings were gone, and only a Nexus, Assilmator, a few Pylons and Gateways remained, along with a dozen Probes.

Why does drone floating still work?

The other battle in the north-west had broken to Auralpistol's main. There was a very tough battle going on, confusing and unpredictable, to say the least. Spider mines were surfacing out of the ground, killing as many friends as foes. Vultures zoomed in and out of the battle, causing minor damage but a lot of annoyance to the leaders.

Mixed Zerg attackers relentlessly held back the Terran and Protoss, helped by reinforcements right at the battle scene.

Protoss Dark Templar sliced through a few thousand zerglings, while High Templar Stormed the Guardians, stripping them of their armour.

Suddenly, a ghost slipped in, took aim, and launched an extra powerful nuke at Auralpistol's residence.

Just like when Ikroyen launched his triple nuke at Jake's main base, the warning NUCLEAR LAUNCH DETECTED blared around the speakers of all enemy Terran invaders.

"Ikroyen. Was that you who launched the nuke?"

"Yes it was."

Auralpistol realized that it was pointing right at his Fortified hive, and that everything, including the ground, in the area, would die. There was also 27 defensive Martixes around it, and 40 mixed Valkyries/Corsairs were hovering right in front of him.

Enraged, he asked Unos to send his few dozen Queens to the area immediately.

One of the Scout pilots noticed this, who warned Dilih without delay.

All the units suddenly centered across to Auralpistol's Fortified Hive, and attacked each other while 'waiting' for the nuke to land.

The nuke appeared without warning. All sorts of Terran and Zerg air attackers tried to block it, but they kept being shot down by lasers, missiles, rifles and laser batteries.

Just before the nuke landed, however, Paul suddenly piped up: "Em, Ik, what happens to us?"

The answer came a moment later.

KABOOM

Zerg flowed from all sides to Ikroyen's main base. An endless stream of Zerglings pounded on the Bunker fortress, leaving the Terrans isolated and leaving Ikroyen in Dire Straits (pun intended. Alright, so it sucked. Do I care? no. ;-) ).

Guardians pounded on the defenseless Cannons, clearing the way for vulnerable Overlords dropping Ultralisks. Dragoons were firing on all angles, their shells taking on the stress of taking attacks and cracking open.

Without his remaining forces, Ikroyen had to slowly rebuild.

Dilih made the hard decision to push further on immediately instead of waiting for Ikroyen to rebuild, who had only a dozen siege tanks and a few wraiths.

So they pushed on to the Zerg base.

Taken by surprise, Unos fortunately had recently built a line of sunken and spore colonies. Every unit had to wait as the Siege Tanks and Reavers fired off at the living hulk, giving Unos precious time to rebuild.

By the time the last colonies had been cleared, a few hundred Ultralisks had stormed in to the nearest Reavers. Storms flew here and there... needless to say, nearly all ground mechanical units had disappeared when the Terran and Protoss could really cope with the sudden attack.

Sabotage, are you there?

The warning siren sounded. A new wave of Hydralisks had destroyed all bunkers outside the base, and the Overlords started droppping their deadly cargo in the outer edges.

Siege tanks fired everywhere, destroying the Ultralisks which were blocked by Missile Turrets.

More and more storms flew, unfortunately destroying all the SCVs as they struggled to hold off cracklings.

Corsairs threw Disruption Web on all ranged Zerg units, and the gigantic number of BattleCruisers which were now struggling to get out, enabling the Neutron Flares to kill half of them before they could again engage combat.

Scourge flanked the area, however not doing much damage since most of them walked right into Psionic Storms. More Devourers came in, sending their Acid Spores against Hallucinated Carriers, which popped the moment they hit.

Reinforcements in the from of Vultures cleared the base with their Spider Mines.

The tide of battle was turning in their favour.

Mark4 > moose salesmen + anime chicks + Drefs porn story + Dref's job + Heartcutter + Heartcutter's penis

In the Zerg base, the Protoss Units and the very few Terran which remained were doing serious damage. Reavers destroyed hatcheries here and there as Unos struggled to get some mineral reserves for even the smallest Zergling.

A wave of Queens were sent, the ugly broodlings popping out where Templar used to be. They bought very precious time, more precious than ever, to consolidate and build forces in Unos's last base.

Reavers, Tanks, Vultures, Wraiths, Valkyries, Templar, Dragoons, Zealots, BattleCruisers, Science Vessels, Corsairs, Carriers, Scouts and even the odd Observer or two were sent across, as fast as they could, to the last standing, up north.

Suddenly, Ikroyen received a transmission from Jake.

"Commander Ikroyen, the is Commander Ja-"

"Who placed you to Commander Status? And why are you transmitting-"

"He. I placed myself to Commander status. I would just like to tell you that I sided with the Zerg because you are an incompetent son of a bitch who jacks-"

"Shut up! When I reach you, you will DIE!"

"Whatever."

The transmission then ended.

"Son of a bitch? I'll tell HIM who's a son of a bitch." Ikroyen snarled, smashing a bottle of beer onto the cabin window of his Dropship. "Alright, who died?" he said to himself.

"Deon, Kaskandov, Bork, Cletus, Annie, Kei, Taylor, George, Herb, Bob, and even Mr. Burns. Damnit! Commander Heartcutter won't be very happy," Commander Ikroyen sighed to himself, opening a bottle of malt liquor and draining it in one gulp.

Toliet paper > Mark4

The Zerg/Terrans were no longer attacking at all, and were forced completely to defense. Dilih and Ikroyen both chose to push fowards right outside Unos's main base, and wait for reinforcements.

It had been several days since they had first started, and they had made enormous progress, more then they had in years. One of the Cerebrates was dead, and another was severely weakened.

A zergling crept across, and attacked a lone missile turret. The sound of an arcillite cannon meant that it was history.

After a few hours, when Jake and Unos could not stand the pressure any longer, they both broke out.

Half of Heartcutter's penis > A whole bag of toliet paper... where's the logic in that? None.

This was to be Unos's last stand. His unit of choice was zerglings, zerglings and zerglings. Jake chose Wraiths only, using ComSat to remove the Observers and targeting Science Vessels. Mines were laid, but they kept being shot down.

Disruption Web was continually laid on the Wratihs, but there were too many for that to be effective.

Zerglings ran and ran, their strong but brittle claws banging against the metal of a siege tank, which fizzed and sparkled while unsieging until it blew up.

Wraiths shot lasers and missiles at random targets, destroying many many units.

Reavers shot scarabs onto a clump of zerglings, blowing them all up in one shot.

High Templar let loose their storms once again, overlapping Wraiths, which were seriously weakened by their psionic energies.

The rest of the Zerglings died to Templar, who could all call themselves veterans just by the number of zerglings alone.

The Terrans and Protoss pushed in the base and destroyed everything in sight.

T I M E i s n o t o n Y O U R S I D E

The very last attack of the war started. Thousands of mixed attackers gathered around the outside of Jake's main base, and they attacked a second later.

The first zealots to go in were sent back to Aiur almost immediately as the Siege Tanks killed them easily.

However, a hundred BattleCruisers soared in the air, easily destroying the nearest Siege Tanks with their Yamato Cannons. Almost the same number of Matrixed Valkryies destroyed a few of the behemoths before the Matrix wore off.

Dilih and Ikroyen both decided not to attack with ground, and sent all their ground troops home as all air attackers soared and started turning the battle in their favour.

Suddenly, as quickly as they entered the base that all of the troops pulled out, and the base was shaken, but standing.

Then:

NU-NU-NU-NU-NU-NU-NUCLEAR LAUNCH DETECTED sounded everywhere in Jake's base. Red dots pointed at all locations, and all the ghosts had enough Defensive Matrixes on each of them to repel a hundred Yamato Cannons.

Jake only just had time to evacuate himself when the nukes exploded.

"BOOM!" sounded the base. All buildings were leveled, leaving Jake with just a few units.

He stepped out of his personal Dropship, making a hopeless last stand with his meagre units available.

However, Ikryoen stepped out of his own Dropship, and walked right up to Jake.

"You have turned against us, and turned with those ugly cerebrates. You will pay for treason." Ikroyen announced solemnly, and pulled a knife out of his pocket.

He struck the knife, hard, into Jake's chest. He screamed, and collapsed on the planet surface.

THE END

I repeat: The End.

Whew. All done! The last section of the fanfic. Hope you enjoyed it more this time, and that hopefully I didn't make it too long.

I have Alt-text on lines.
