I was in nohunters today and had an unpleasant experience with a player who's name I mention only because he was so damn rude and never apologized for it that he deserves the bad press. 3 games I played with OmnipresentOne
In all games I am protoss having recently decided to only play with the master race.
GAME ONE- map is avalanch and its a 2v2. My parter is some demon guy and drew terran (who ironically had called me a mineral hacker only days before). They were Omni (toss) and Helmeties (zerg).
If you dont know the map its a 96x96 6 player island map. You are in a ravine and the middle is raised. I went for reavers and goons early. I did a one goon drop on the toss and killed 2 probes before being killed. He had minimal D and had I done a 4 zeal drop it woulda been GG. I saw he had templar archives so my partner threw up some turrets and myself some cannons while getting an observatory.
Meanwhile my parter has floated a rax and factory up and is preparing a siege on the zerg, he is a bit slow though and the zerg drops hydra on him wasting the few men and 1 tank. My partner is forced to lift his barracks and factory. Seeing this I load up my two reavers and head to the zerg base. The zerg reloads his hydra and head for my partners base.
I drop the reavers out of sunken range and kill 3 hydra before I start on his drones. I kill prolly 80% of the drones before his OL's return and I lift off with 2 reavers intact one bruised. I go to the other side and manually target the remaining drones and kill em before loosing 1 reaver to a sunken.
Back home I am pumping corsair from one stargate and goons from 2 gates while starting my first expansion. A drop from Omni on my main fails ( I think he had DT in there) but pulled out with a heavily damaged shuttle. While teching to templar I decide to send my corsair to scout. I intercept the omni shuttle and kill it easily. He has seen my expo though so I reinforce with 2 reavers and 2 goons. Meanwhile my corsair find an Omni expansion guarded only w cannons so I send in my 2 reavers and kill 80% of the probes there.
At this point my partner has his cliff siege set and is killing the zerg. Its REALLY set up with 3 bunkers and 4 tanks.
At this point Omni starts bitching about how this is a gay map and goes on and on about how gay it is. They turbo concede and no GG's were exchanged.
GAME 2
We were supposed to rematch but Demon had to go so helmeties left and Omni and I played 1v1. I let him pick the map so we didnt end up on another "GAY" map. He suprisingly chose temple. I choose toss and he goes random getting toss.
I will make this game SHORT and sweet. He never gets to scout me as I have 2 zeals on ramp before he gets there. He doesnt realize that I have only 1 gate and am teching to DT. I throw in a shuttle for good messure with a reaver and he never tests my ramp. If he had it mighta been a different story but he didnt so I dropped 2 dt and a reaver. No goons or cannons protecting the minerals. I was hoping to kill some probes but instead I killed his nexus... he sent goons over to help out so I flew my reaver away and
LO and BEHOLD he starts bitching AGAIN about using cheap strats. Now cheeze is cheeze I will admit. Cannon rushing, cheeze scv rushing ect. But in the time it takes to get a shuttle reaver and DT dont you think u ougght protect your minerals?
So I agree to a rematch.
GAME 3
Again toss vs toss on temple. Not wanting to use any cheap tactics this time I went raw power. I had 2 gates and sent 7 zeals to attack. He had 5 zeals but was using is choke quite productively dispite my best attempts to lure him down. I withdrew to my choke.
Since he had fewer zeals he was clearly teching to something so I teched up myself to goons. Fearing DT I got a forge and put a couple cannons up at my nexus. My first 3 popped out and I left them at my minerals as well to protect against a possible drop.
Sure enough a minute or so later a shuttle shows up. He unwisely drops a reaver with no support. Before I can kill it though he wisely loads up and runs. Too bad I didnt have range yet.
Then he says "HOW DID YOU KNOW THAT WAS COMING?" and blah blah blah. He ranted a bit while I was expanding and throwing down 2 more gates. I was weary of DT still so teched to observers.
He then assults my choke just as the cannons are warping in. Funny thing about timing he attacked as I was sending my zeals down to protect my natural. He has zeals and a couple reavers behind. It doenst look good for me but range kicks in and Im able to repulse his force killing everything BUT the shuttle and still have a couple goons and a fully operational shuttle. At this point he surprisingly starts asking HOW I KNEW HE WAS ATTACKING? And how I countered everything he did.
I asked him if he was on drugs or what his problem was? Meanwhile I had templar and took my 2nd mineral natural. I decide to attack with 12 goons and observers and meet up with a force coming to my base. His is small and puny and even with the reaver support he dropped in i lost only 4 goons before continuing. WHile I am razing his natrual expansion (no cannons) he AGAIN accuses my of cheating. Using the incredible logic of...."You always attack JUST as I'm going to attack"
Meanwhile I have 7 gates pumping goons and they are 2/1/1 whith 3/2/2 coming soon. I send another 12 to help kill his main and send 3 to scout the rest of the map.
He is still going ON and ON about how its very suspicious that I stopped everything he attempted. He then asks point blank "Are you cheating?"
"No" is my response.
"How is you you stop everything I try so easily" he unwisely asks.
Unable to resist I say
"You suck?"
Well dangit it was REALLY funny at the time. Anyways My 12 goons meet up with my 4 left over and I had a couple templar with me to storm any clusters. Unfortuantely it appears with all his bitching he was unable to muster a strike force.
He is still going on and on showing truly how mature he can be.... then leaves again with no gg.

Lessons Learned
1. Don't act like an ass. Sure we all have out moments when he get pissed cause we are getting slapped down hard and our competetive juices are flowing. The key thing is to always say gg and apologize if you act dumb. Otherwise you end up being WHoop's poster child and bitch.
2. Protoect your PEONS. This is SOOO newbie but dang you gotta have an economy or you're out.
3. Skill levels vary. Omni was clearly used to winning and while he isnt bad he isnt that great either.
I wish I had a way to record an entire game. The transcript from that one would be quite funny to read. I honestly thought he was hopped up on drugs. Instead he is merely a SNERT. (Snot Nosed Egotistical Rude Teenager) |
