Lifetime Rating for FuzzyPeach: 3.0000 |  | Nowadays I find to many newbies on battle.net when I get on. The no rush rules and the cheap ally stuff is always crap. This is just one game of me against some random newbie on battle.net.
Map: Temple
FuzzyPeach (Btw, this isn't my battle.net name): Red Terran 12
I_Need_To_Learn: Blue Zerg 6
So I join up in a Temple game and I figure, this guy has got to be good. Most newbies play BGH remember????? Anyways, he wishes me luck and starts the game. I see him choose Zerg, so I quickly change my random status to Terran.
As soon as we start the game he strikes up a conversation -
Him: no terrans allowed!
Me: well why do u think they include the terran race in sc then?
Him: humans suck!
Me: riiiiiight...
Him: NO RUSH 20 MINUTES
Okay, so now he tells me. Normally I would leave now, but a certain grudge to kill this alien held me back. He said humans suck! He will not get away with that! I act newbie early game too and build 5 supply depots in a row. It seemed newbish enough.
So I scout this guy and he's building the same things as me! Kinda. I see 6 overlords humming around his base. He takes all his drones off minerals and chases my SCV. Of course I run my SCV off to the 9 position and here these little drones are, chasing my helpless SCV. Like when a group of dogs chase the mailman. Yah, you get it now.
So I have a nice cluster of SCVs in my base and I am in the process of building 3 barracks right now. Yah, that's how much money I have. With that said and done I add an academy and refinery. Well, I shift click my scouting SCV around. The drones just keep on chasing it for 2 minutes straight until he gives it up and resumes mining. Of course, I order my SCV to follow them and the SCV finds a lair, pool, extractor and hydra den morphing all together. I think, he's nuts.
I have a nice cluster of M&M. 16 marines and 6 medics to be exact. I think, I can let him live. OMFG, suddenly, 3 blimps come roaring in. Actually, they kinda float in slowly. That's right, HE HAS SENT HIS MIGHTY OVERLORDS OF DOOM. I don't get scared and shoot them all down. Now he's fussing around about how gay sc is and how overlords don't attack and why the hell did he buy the game in the first place. Well I tell him to shut up and he does.
Feeling confident enough to attack, I do. 20 marines and 10 medics move out of the base. As they arrive at the choke point of the 6 base, I hear a strangled cry, as 4 marines and 1 medic are sliced up right away. Shit, I say. Lurkers. I add a comsat hoping it'll finish before his lurkers come along. And you know what? I also expand, to both the 3 and 9 mains.
His lurkers never come to my base however and I am happy enough to say that from there on it was all nukes. I got 2 nuclear silos at my new expansions and got 4 ghosts and 1 dropship. I loaded 2 ghosts into the dropship and headed towards the back of the newbie's base. As soon as one ghost was behind the minerals, I ordered it to cloak and launch a nuke at the lair. The other ghost however stood well back and killed a few drones.
The nuke falls and lands directly on the lair. Drones splutter and die and his oncoming zerg forces (he spotted the nuke) die to the nuke. I launch another one in exactly the same place and he makes a funny comment -
Him: how the hell do u get that bomb thingy?
I laughed. I scan his choke and see 3 lurkers. My M&M force can handle it well enough so I send 'em in. Of course, I suffer some casualties. The lurkers die and he leaves the game.
Will Newbies Ever Learn?
I don't think so.
