Introduction: This
is my first battle report, and I worked a lot on it, so it probably has lots
of mistakes due to lack of experience. Please don't flame me on the comments
=(
On a usual night at
SLR's channel, fish and Tao decide to play a 1on1. There were 6on the channel
including me, so they picked a LT obs map. Tao picked T, and fish picked random.
Unfortunately fish got T too.
At the end of this
battle report you will certainly hate TvT's and avoid that matchup at all costs.

Game
Starts

Fish
starts at 12, putting his scv's to mine and building more. He gets a depot
with the 9th SCV below his mineral pact to the right. With the same SCV he gets
a rax above the ramp presumably for a wall. He gets gas when the rax is half
constructed. Instead of walling, fish gets another barracks on the ramp, which
he cancels it, and builds 2 factories right away..
Tao
starts at 9, getting a supply depot with the 8th SCV,
in a position for a wall, finishing it before fish's first depot. He then
scouts with the SCV that just finished building. With another SCV he gets
a barracks to complete the wall. He gets gas and another supply depot at the
same time as fish. Both players seem to go for the same, heavy metal. Tao
builds a factory at the same time as fish, and finally his scouting scv finds
fish's base at 12.
BoB
wanders around scouting and annoying Tao's base first. He found it very boring
so he went to fish's base to make friends with some scv's.
Knowing each other's
position the players finally decide to make their moves. Tao
gets an eng bay below fish's cliff to scout,
while he is getting his second factory. With 2 factories done, fish builds a
starport presumably for a drop. By this time fish has a slight advantage since
he has more SCVs then Tao and 2 facts and
1 starport building vs. 1 fact and one building fact, although only now fish's
scouting scv finds Tao's base and gets killed by a marine.
Fish's
starport is finally finished, and he gets a control tower soon after. An academy
and an eng bay are also being built.
By this time both players
are pumping their first tanks. Tao sends
his tanks to meet his scouting scv that is above 3's min only. He sieges them
and makes a few turrets with the scv. This is the beginning of this very (boring)
tactical game. Fish's first dropship arrives
and takes one tank, one vult and 2 marines with it. Still unaware of Tao's
tank/turret wall, he passes the dropship right through getting damaged by one
of the turrets. Since Tao saw the dropship
coming, he defends his base getting a couple of turrets and 2 tanks not sieged
yet.
Fish
decides its time to exp and so he builds a cc on the main to lift it up and
land on the exp safely.
The dropship finally
arrives at Tao's main, but only unloads
a tank and a vult because it got killed by a turret, taking the 2 marines down
with it. This drop didn't quite go as Fish
would like, only killing 2 SCVs before getting destroyed by the 2 tanks that
Tao had protecting his economy.
Tao
now has the upper hand, with Fish contained(kind
of), he builds a cc on his main, to lift off and land on his exp. He is forgetting
about making more SCVs. He gets another CC, this time on the other side of his
main, to lift off and land on 6's main. Fish
gets two armories to try to upgrade faster then Tao.
Fish
now seeming very nervous, is having trouble deciding what to use against Tao's
tank/turret wall.
Now follow some moments
of (boredom) tactical movements. Tao
has now his nat and 6 main, but still Fish
has higher cashflow due to lack of scv's from Tao.

Started off as a neutral farmer,
caught in the middle of a war. Thinking many times of committing suicide,
BoB bravely decides to take part of one of the armies in the war.
He checks out the Tao Army, with teal
helmets, but finds them very unfriendly. The Fish
Army, with brown coats, was his last hope. He finds them and makes friends
with some SCV's. Now considered part of the Fishies,
he is made a spy. He is sent on a suicide mission to spy on Taoist's
base. As he gets up Taoist's ramp, he is caught by a patrolling marine.
Running for his life, BoB manages to escape with 4 hp, but is still
being followed by the evil marine. He runs in the direction of fish's
base, getting through the tanks in the containment(kind of) without being
noticed, and getting rid of the marine when Fish's
tanks on the cliff get him on target.
Fish
immediately pumps a medic, which I kindly named her Betty.
She healed BoB, and there were some rumors that they had a love
affair. BoB was now hero between the brown coats, and was given
a week vacation.

I was forced to blur
the hot images between BoB and Betty.

Ok back to the game...
Fish
gets a few dropships with some tanks and SCVs and gets 3 main.
Troop Count:
Fish
has 13 tanks, 6 goliaths, 5 vultures and 5 marines.
Tao has 11 tanks.
But still Tao
has the upper hand since Fish seems out
of ideas to destroy Tao's containment(kind
of).
Nothing happens in the
next 3 minutes.... Fish gets some more tanks,
goliaths and vults and Tao gets more tanks
on the containment. Fish also gets 3's main
secured, and building now some factories in it.
MASSACRE
On a crazy attempt to brake Tao's containment,
Fish sends ALL of his troops to fight it.
Fish's
Casualties: 9 tanks, 5 goliaths, 5 vultures, 5 marines, and Betty
The Medic.
Tao's Casualties: 3 tanks.
I'm not sure what was
going on Fish's head on that psycho attack,
but I'm sure he was now thinking "gg".
Tao
has his main, his nat, 6's main and a cc going towards the top island. All of
his exps have few scv's.
Fish is only mining from his nat and 3's
main, with tons of SCVs on the nat, and very few on 3's main.
Both players are filled with money, but due to lack of imagination they don't
know what to do. TvT's suck.
With help of Comsat
fish finds Tao's 6 expo and immediately
sends 3 dropships with 4 tanks and 7 marines, while Tao keeps sending tanks
and goliaths to his containment at 3's min only.
Tao
is now expanding like a whore, building a cc in 6's nat and another to lift
and drop on the bottom right island.
A funny moment now,
Fish and Tao
both try to expand to the top left island with flying cc's but Tao
gets there first. Fish then lands the CC
right next to Tao's.

After those boring moments,
Tao tries to destroy Fish's
expo at 3 with a couple of tanks, but gets killed by tons of vultures built
from the 5 factories Fish now has on 3.
The dropships which
were supposed to destroy Tao's 6's main,
and were only now commanded to do so. Encountering no defense, they successfully
destroy it, but fail to kill the cc that was going for the island. While this
happens, Tao sends a dropship with four
goliaths to the top-left island, and damages fish's CC. As Tao
notices Fish attack on 6 he sends a couple
of dropships, but he's too late. The two forces are dangerously close, but no
action occurs

Tao
sends another suicide mission to kill 3's main, but the 7 goliaths and 2 tanks
fail miserably to the 3 sieged tanks and the tons of vultures.
MASSACRE 2
Another attempt to destroy Tao's containment(kind
of).
Fish
sends 13 tanks, 6 goliaths, 2 vults and 3 marines. All except 2 tanks died.
Tao's Casualties: 7 tanks.
Right after, fish sends about 20 vults from 3's main but only kills 2 tanks,
getting all of the vults killed.
The tons of scv's on
Fish's nat have mined all the minerals
there were, leaving fish with 3's main, versus Tao's
4 exps, although still with few scv's each, they provide a bigger cash-flow
then Fish.
Fish
decides to change from tanks/vulture/goliaths, to the flying pieces of tin AKA
wraiths. They manage to kill of some tanks on the containment(sort of) but the
turrets kill most of them.

The
Death of BoB
|
|
BoB was sent on another
suicide mission to provide information about Tao's
containment(kind of). Without any other information he goes near the tanks...
and... well... tries to kill some by punching and kicking them... This
didn't go quite well, and one of the unsieged tanks killed him. This was
the tragic end... of a hero that still lives in our hearts. His name was
BoB.
With the remaining pieces and the pool of blood, the brown coats gave
him a decent funeral

Fish
now manages to expand on 3's natural, while more and more reinforcements arrive
from Tao. With about 25 tanks and 8 goliaths,
Tao finally decides to attack Fish's
main. He manages to kill the tanks on the cliff, but also losing a couple in
the process. He advances slowly while building turrets with the scv's. Fish
now has about 30 wraiths, 20 of them right next to Tao's
main planning some attack, and 10 attacking the tanks that were not covered
with turrets yet.
Fish's
wraiths try to attack the main but there were too many goliaths lying around
so they redirect to the top-left island and kill successfully but with a few
injuries by the few goliaths and turrets Tao
had protecting it.

Tao
continues he's attack, but too slowly, allowing fish to make more tanks and
siege them above the cliff making it very hard for Tao.
Fish manages to kill all of Tao's
tanks and goliaths, but when he was moving the tanks closer to the cliff, more
tank and goliaths arrive, killing them easily. Tao's
reinforcements break through and start to kill the factories. Fish
had a lot of stuff on 3's main and uses it to clean up the 5 tanks that were
destroying the main base. I guess Tao didn't
know fish had an entirely new main base at 3 o'clock. They destroy the tanks
easily and immediately start a counter-attack.
In a couple of minutes
the game turns around completely, now fish sieging his tanks below Tao's
nat, having some trouble against the tanks up the cliff. Now Tao
is in real trouble, only having 124 minerals, and only mining from 6 o'clock
nat with 7 scv's.

It is already clear
that Fish already won its only a matter
of time for him to have enough troops to kill the tanks on the cliff.
Fish
finally discovers Tao's expo at 6 o'clock
nat, and kills it with the tanks he used to kill the expo at 6 main earlier
in the game. He then TN's Tao's nat at 9
o'clock nat and kills with 2 tanks a some wraiths, the gas mining scv's, the
cc, and a couple of tanks Tao still had
there.

Deja vu: now
with total control of the map, Fish decides
to take the bottom-right island where Tao
had his last expo. Tao then leaves.

Mistakes
Fish:
Fish had alot of trouble to destroy that strong tank/turret
containment. He should have expanded the whole map while Tao was only concentrating
in that spot. I can't think of other major mistakes fish done except some lack
of imagination through the whole game.
Taoist:
Taoist had the map totally control.
But Fish was still able to win. Tao should have got A LOT more scvs in each
expansion, and A LOT more factories. He should have also been more aggressive.
