And now on
to our feauture presentation.

Thats
right, Blank! a Nohunters regular who is a very
respectable player, and also, Silent-Strike, he comes out
every here and there and is known to some people as
*super ultra mega godly gosu*. And I would have to agree
on some of those terms judging by some of the br's I have
read about him.
These 2
have already bouted out 2 matches before as both games
ending up as ZvT , Blank! picking up Z as Silent Strike
gets T, both games Blank! did win, but Silent-Strike did
put up quite a fight, still very impressive feat for
Blank!. The 3rd game comes, just to see if we can get a
classic one.
On to the
map, Rivalry, a 4 corners map with expansions at the top
middle, middle right, bottom middle and middle left,
along with mineral naturals only for the mains. There are
also 4 gas only expos in the middle of the map.
GAME
STARTING POSITIONS.
Blank! being dark blue
starting at the number 2 (top right) position getting
terran from random.
Silent-Strike being
yellow starting at the number 11 position (top left)
getting terran also from random.
THE
GAME.
Blank! starts off with a heavy
metal build, depot, rax, gas, depot, (completes weird
wallin for that position) factory x 2 and an armory. It
looks like blank! is going for a conservative and
efficient build in a TvT heavy medal except he throws
away early wraiths and gets some golies. Silent-Strike
goes for a depot, rax, gas, 1 factory, depot, and then
expands to the 9 o'clock expansion. It looks like
Silent-Strike is going for a mini heavy metal build of
tank/vulture and the occasional marine for now until he
can secure his expansion. Looks like Blank and
Silent-Strike are going to test their micro out early on.
Silent-Strike
finishes his expansion and gets it in semi production,
then the first tactical battle takes place with Blank!
still not knowing that Silent has expanded. <

Indeed the
above battle did take up alot of micro. It ended up as a
tie at the end still leaving Silents expo not found. Isnt it interesting how
he got those scvs to get that extra hit points in and
just made the battle harder for Blank! to micro, they
really were a factor of this battle. The 2nd battle
starts very promptly after the first micro war. It starts
off with Blank! starting with his gay turbo newbie from
below and he slowly comes up the ramp. As you can see in
the pic Silent-Strike did have the tanks to stop the
battle, but it wasn't as easy as he thought, he lost
about 2 tanks and a depot before he could stop the threat
from Blank! and still the expansion hasnt been found. And
then I took my 99th pic, not wanting to disturb the
players or the game I quickly alt + tabbed out and
transferred my pics, now, alot of action occured while
this happened (DAMNIT) and I'll try and recap to you what
has happened. Silent-Strike expands to the bottom left
main in a effort to grab a large resource lead and also
adds his 2nd factory, while Blank! expands to his min eral only natural and also adds
2 starports in an effort for Tank/goliath/vulture/Wraith,
the build is gas intensive but it seems hes managing with
1 refinery for now. Soon after Silent-Strike finishes his
bottom left expansion it is quickly found by a passing
vulture and it slowly, and I mean slowly killing the 1500
hp CC.
Now
knowing he has evened the resources battle, Blank!
expands twice to the expansion at 3 o'clock (right
middle) and at the bottom right main. He quickly secures
each base with about a factory each building random metal
units. Blank then gets a squadron of 6 wraiths, 4 tanks,
8 vultures and about 3 goliaths with a barracks to attack
Silents-Strikes' Main. But Silent-Strike has quite a
strong defencesive of about 7 tanks 5 goliaths and scvs
to repair, this will be another micro intensive battle.
Woo hoo. I have a large animation for your comfort to
view this great battle.

This
battle obviously wasn't as micro intensive as
anticipated, but it was really a battle for the
containment, in which Blank! did, successfully keeping
Silent-Strike contained with his tanks and goliaths. Or
did he?
The
following animation shows Silent-Strikes quick counter.

If you
followed the minimaps and watched some certain frames you
could see that Silent-Strike has retaken the bottom left
main and has destroyed Blanks!' attempt to expand to the
bottom middle expansion. The resource battle has Blank!
in the lead by 1 mineral only expansion. This game gets
more exciting by the minute. And how can we show our
excitement? Only by comparing stats of the game so far!
Upgrades/Expansions.

As you
can see the upgrades are perfectly even, making battles
more micro intensive then ever, but looking at an
expansion view Blank! has the advantage, meaning he can
use more units in an attack, putting more pressure on
Silent-Strike.
With the
resource advantage Blank! does a very clever move by getting 5 barracks at his
middle right expansion enabling him to get naked marines
and making it easier to destroy expansions while STILL
putting the pressure on Silent-Strikes' main base. Slowly
Blank! is marching into victory with his marines, he has
destroyed both of Silent-Strikes expansions, along with
putting the pressure on his main, knowing this
Silent-Strike concedes and gives the game to Blank!.
Congrats and gg to both!

Unfortanetly
I didn't get a picture of the scores but I'll give my
esimate of what they were, I'm sure Blank! came out on
top with structures and resources because of his majoirty
of building factories and barracks at his expansions
which he had many of to keep them from dieing from a
small attack squad. In units im not really sure but I'm
also guessing Blank! came out on top by a small amount.
Lessons
Learned.
1: When
expanding, always build a strcuture that makes units *ie
gateway/barracks/factory* to enable you to have a mini
army at that base so it doesnt die to 1 unit, Blank!
showed this very well while Silent did with only his
middle left expansion leaving his bottom left main very
naked.
2: Never
play Blanks! zerg.
3: TvT is
very fun if you can play it right. Both of these players
did very smart builds for TvT.
4: Big
animations that hurt you and your modem are very cool.
5: My
alt-text sucks nuts.
