Battle Report: SseamuSS vs ][ntruder
This is a game played between 2 friends and with me as a observer :)
Its a 2 out of 3 game. Enjoy ;)
Game 1
Players: SSeamuSS vs ][ntruder
Races:
SSeamuSS: Protoss
][ntruder: Terran
Map: Dire Straits |
 |
SSeamuSS started a constant stream of
zealots as soon as the Gateways were up. When the first shuttle became
available, SSeamuSS made a zealot drop on ][ntruder's relatively undefended
base.
While taking out ][ntruder's Starports, SSeamuSS began building dragoons
and researching "faster shuttle movement" as well as all reaver upgrades,
while all the while loading and unloading troops. Besides the occasional
firebats, marines, and goliaths, destroying ][ntruder's base was a
little to easy, but wraiths have evidently been constructed at an
undiscovered Starport, and SSeamuSS's shuttle were shot from the sky.
It was beginning to look like ][ntruder might pull through, since
dragoons could not reach his base because SSeamuSS still had to re-build
shuttles to make up for those destroyed. When reavers arrived, ][ntruder
could not take care of both reavers and zealots with his handful of
wraiths, and he surrendered.

Game 2
Players: SSeamuSS vs ][ntruder
Races:
SSeamuSS: Protoss
][ntruder: Zerg
Map: Lost Temple |
 |
Both SSeamuSS and ][ntruder did early
reconnaissance and when SSeamuSS found ][ntruder, 5 Sunken Colonies
were waiting for him. This generally means that a Zerg player sacrifices
his early game edge against Protoss to go for early air power. SSeamuSS
realised this, but in the heat of the game did not take the proper
precautions.
Since early defence was not necessary, SSeamuSS economised by not
building a Forge until later. SSeamuSS built 12 zealots but fell behind
on dragoon production since the Cybernetics Core came late due to
bad micromanagement. With the extra minerals, he set up an early expansion
and worked towards an early drop since attacking through the entrance
was suicide. Mutalisks made chaos at SSeamuSS's expansion, but he
was able to fend them off with some dragoons. Guardians hovering over
a level of higher ground pained SSeamuSS since he could not reach
them. At last, he was able to make a drop after securing his base,
but was devastated because ][ntruder's Colonies were close enough
to the rear of the base to destroy SSeamuSS's attackers. From then
on ][ntruder easily levelled SSeamuSS's base since any opposition
was swiftly destroyed. The outcome of the last game will determine
the winner of this serie of 3 games.

Game 3
Players: SSeamuSS vs ][ntruder
Races:
SSeamuSS: Protoss
][ntruder: Terran
Map: Hunters |
 |
SSeamuSS was first to find out where his
opponent was and realized any attack besides a drop was useless because
his Bunkers were behind Supply Depots. He had 12 zealots, 6 dragoons,
and was warping in his Observatory when ][ntruder attacked with cloaked
wraiths.
They destroyed all but 2 probes by the time his observer was finished
production and his dragoons could at last prove useful. He had set
up Photon Cannons and a Shield Battery for his 12 zealots at his entrance,
but they were of little use since wraiths were his trouble now. Before
he could co-ordinate a drop, more wraiths arrived, but this time ][ntruder
used his Com-Sat and destroyed the Observer. Only in the end, in a
futile attempt to take ][ntruder's attention away from his base, did
SSeamuSS realise that the Supply Depots left a small entrance into
][ntruder's base. Unable to build a secondary base, SSeamuSS watched
as his base was flattened as ][ntruder advances to the second round and both players exchange GGs
