Don't Try This At Home

There are many strategies. There are the good. There are the bad. And then there are...

THE FUNNY!

I bring to you some funny strategies I observed in this one game. The game was, well, less than perfect, BUT the need for funny strategies outweighs all else! Who performed these strategies? Why no other than...

Melvinator as the Red Terran

AND

CornOnTheko[B] as the Blue Protoss

Let's begin with a commonly overlooked strategy - the Carrier rush. You may be thinking that the Carrier rush isn't funny. Well, you probably haven't attacked with the glorious attacking force of one Carrier. With no interceptors.

And your Carriers probably don't run from battles quite as often as they do in this masterful Carrier rush strat.

The Carrier rush - the myth, the legend, the failure. And you have to hide failures. Preferably in the middle of a large group of your units.

Now here is something that can really bug your opponent. Especially if your opponent has not invited you into their base. Send one Zealot, and try to slip past the two security guards without presenting an inventation. Trust me, they'll hate it.

But the fun doesn't end there. Keep moving in, with as many Zealots as you can (although only send one at a time, which is CRUCIAL), and keep killing the pairs of security guards that try to stop you.

And then bring in another Zealot for a refreshing change - remember, twice the Zealots equals twice the you-were-not-invited annoyance!

There may be times when the security guards stop your Zealots before they get into the base, but don't be discouraged, keep sending those Zealots in.

Now as our strat inventors discovered first hand, 1 security guard + 2 security bikes > 1 Zealot. So don't get yourself into that position.

Now we come to the million-dollar question: how do you counter this strat?

All you need to do is hire a larger security force, and you'll send those Dragoons running.

But always remember not to get overzealous bikers who'll do anything to get the security guard of the month award.

But enough with that strat. There is another strat that can mess with your opponent's mind - the Carrier tease.

First, get your Interceptors to take potshots at the enemy Marines. They'll want to know where they came from...

And once the Marines are down, bring your Carriers up.

Once the Marines get up, bring you Carriers down. When the Marines start heading down, bring your Carriers up.

But just hope that the enemy Marines aren't intellegent, because they might guess your little ploy.

But even so, you can just kill them.

Now I bet by now you're screaming imbalance. And you should be. But anyway, there are ways to counter this strat. Namely, cloaking, for anyone who has taken a elementary math class knows that cloaking > Protoss Carriers with no cloak detection.

Once you've killed the Carriers, bring in your Valkyrie for a super-duper no-attack-counter-attack!

Now you've got him/her/it weakened. You've countered his/her/its no-invitation annoyances, and the Carrier tease. You'll have to deliver a crushing blow to your opponent. So drop some Marines and Medics in your enemy's supply line - but remember, the Marines must die for this strat to work properly! Then charge in your medics to fight in hand-to-hand combat with dozens of probes.

Just because you're taking out your opponent doesn't mean that you can ignore your base. Always hire the bravest peons - the ones that won't desert their post, ever.

And finally, fireworks are eseential to boost your morale after winning a battle. Missile turrets make particularly pretty explosions.

Well, that is all the strats for now. Try them out, but don't sue me if they get you to rating 1 on the ladder.
