Lifetime Rating for Flint79: 6.3714 |  | Have you ever played a public 3 vs 3? They arn't pretty. Quite possibly one the most anoying game choices in SC. But...I just finished playing one now. The LAST one I ever play. Relax, crack open a beer and listen to a little story about frustration, anger and general mayhem.
So, I'm looking for a team game in Vanilla and I see a 3 vs 3 on hunters. For some unknown reason I join. I will soon be sorry that I did. I should have my head checked. I run a few stats and the people SEEM to be decent players. It only took 10 minutes to organise the teams. Tv B was'nt easy enough I suppose. In fact, when the game started, people were still confused. Dear God, I say to myself. What have I gotten myself into. Quite possibly one of the most annoying games I have ever played...that's what.
Map: Hunters
Team Moron: Me (I'm the lead moron b/c I joined the game, Bottom Right) Yellow Toss (the God of cannons, mid right) and Purple Terran (Captian illogical Top left)
Team God-Awful :Red Toss (This guy was actually good, bottom left) Blue Toss (classic Cannon then Carriers player, top middle ) Teal Zerg (The sleeper, Top right)
Let the insanity begin.
3v3 games is all about the rush right? Nope, not this game. The Blue Toss is spamming with a "NO RUSH?" and everyone is just yapping in general. I'm getting lings for the 3 way rush I assumed we doing. Nope. Yellow toss has stopped at 6 probes and is going forge first. Great. My terran ally has also stopped at 6. "Make more workers terran" I cry. Yellow chimes in with, "Hey man...back off you do your strat and let him do his". "That's a strat???", I reply. I brace for what looks to be a horrible game. I get a beer.
What a shocker. Yellow toss is cannoning like a fiend. I can't talk him outta it. I grab my natural and my OL I sent scouting reports that Red is actually quite good. I'm making more and more lings and yelling at yellow every now and then. Red rushes me with Zealots (no help from his allies). I fend off the attack with my many lings. "Counter attack!!!" I yell. But Yellow is still making cannons and Terran is making many barracks before making troops. I move out alone. I feel the frustration building.
My attack went ok. I did'nt finish him...but I hurt him enough that I rush a second and third time. I just can't seem to end this guy...when the terran finally arrives on the scene with some rines. Red is overwhelmed. As Red dies he yells out his total frustration with his teammates. I know how you feel Red. I saved him a lot of frustration though. Red's ally (Teal) shows up too late with 4 hydra that are mown down . I begin to tech.
Good old Yellow has an expansion...but still no gateways. It's only 15 minutes into the game...and still no gateways. Yellow makes the comment that I ONLY have lings for main attack force. When he has no attack forve what-so-ever. Brilliant comment from Yellow there. Trying to expalin the strats for a 3 vs 3 game are futile on him.
I'm pumping Hydras out of 5 hatches and expand to where Red was. Recon indicated that Blue Toss is turting like a whore. Oh boy. Now I'm Screaming at Yellow to make gates. He finally does, about 10 of them. Yet, it's interesting to note he failed to make troops out of them for another 10 mins.
Him: Oh baby...the cash is flowing now!
Me: Then make some troops will ya!
Him: I want goons
(He has a cyber-core)
Me: Then what is stopping you? Jesus!
Teal zerg tries to expand at the complete opposite of the map. I see this and shut it down pronto. Yellow is Actually making troops at this point and is also trying to be the leader of the group. Do this...do that. The only thing I wanted to do was head-butt him in face.
WE ATTACK! My foolish terran ally decides he is going to attack the blue Toss. The Blue Toss was the hardcore cannon fiend. He attacks with only infantry. It's a fuckin slaughter. I yell, "PULL BACK!!! PULL BACK!!!" ,after a good minute of just death on the terran side. He staggers home. Yellow and I attack the teal zerg. Yellow has his precious goons at this point. We blast through 4 sunkens and what's this? Teal has NO troops what-so-ever. Only when we attack do I see the larve in two hatchs turn into eggs. What he was doing all that time is up to speculation by anyone. My guess is sleeping or running around in circles giggling like a little school girl. He dies horribly.
Teal is still pumping rines and Yellow decided that a 3 way attack might be cool. Yellow is a tactical genius I tell ya. We attack. Worst 3-way attack of all TIME.
Yellow and I go in from the right. His goons block my hydra's I can't attack. Terran moves in from the right and once again faces many cannons. I take a healthy chug of beer as 5 Blue carriers move out to attack. All I can do is hit intercepters. All of Terrans rines die.
Yellow laggs out of the game. Good Riddance. I say screw this and pull my hydras back. I use them to shut down Blue's one expansion. My terran ally FINALLY get's a com-stat and scans in rear of Blue. Open for hydra drop. Blue has been close to lagging out all game as well. Blue attacks my Terran Ally with his carriers and the rines are dying left and right. I've never seen a player lose so many marines in the course of one game. I suit up for the drop.... 12 OL full of 3/3 hydra's. Terran is yelling ,"Hurry Hurry".
I drop Blue Toss to find no resistance what-so-ever. And he either lags out or disconnects. Either way...the game is over. Terran actually had the nerve to say "gg". I simply reply with a "g"..for "game".
That is definatly the LAST public 3vs3 I ever play. In vanilla public games.... DTA (Don't trust anyone)
