The diary of Terran Marine #389236552073
My commander was ordered into sector 2572028. Otherly known as the sandy world of ShowDown. My commander, said that this world favoured the terran for the high cliffs and a Seige Tank push is a nice way to attack.
We landed upon the souther position of the planet, cloaning our 4 scvs to seperate mineral patches. Another SCV was ordered up. After We had 8 lowly scvs mining, a supply depot was ordered up. A scv was told to scout the enemy, and another was ordered to a mineral expansion near the enemy. A scv constructed a barracks at our main base, while another constructed one by the minerals.
Another barracks followed the one at the main base, and the barracks completed at the mineral expansion lifted off, and flew to a ridge above a protoss enemy.
The protoss appeared to be teching. At home, a refinery + a academy were ordered up. u-238 shells were being researched, and a factory was completed. Then a marine came on the radio.
" There are 4 zealots being unloaded upon our position, we cant hold! we cant hold! "
Then a scream followed along with grunts from a zealot.
The barracks was lifted off, and was destroyed by 2 dragoons.
Back at base, tanks, marines and medics + wraiths were being ordered up. A shuttle appeared next to deon, ( a scv ) and 2 reavers unloaded, launched 2 scarabs into the scv line, and all of a sudden our supply control dropped 8.
Tanks, wraiths and marines destroyed the reavers/shuttles.
A marine was sent to scout, and ran into 2 cannons + a dragoon in a reaver + a shield battery in the middle.
The tank push was followed. A reaver, and a psionic storm ended the lives of 10 marines + meddy sue, a medic.
Then, 15 more marines + 2 medics came up, and 3 more tanks.
Eventually, the middle was ours. 2 tanks and 8 marines were loaded upon the middle ridge. Scvs took up missle turrets, bunkers, a barracks and a factory was constructed.
A scouting marine found a expansion at 10:00, the mineral only expansion, and 3 tanks + 4 marines were loaded upon the ridge. 18 dead probes and a exploded nexus.
We expanded to the island next to us and into the middle.
After about 5 minutes, 10 shuttles flew above our main base.... and we had no defences there because most of our forces were rallyed to the middle.
6 archons, 6 shuttles and zealots and dragoons mad very short work of our main base... we didn't stand a chance even if we went back... 7 missle turrets went up at our island expansion and 4 more at our middle base.
All buildings were floated to the middle.
Then, about 25 seconds later,
ARMAGEDDON
All those infantry landed into our foothold into the middle... 24 tanks, 15 marines and 5 wraiths vs all those guys. A cloud of snow, ( Disruption Web ) was poured over a clump of marines.. no more marines. 10 marines were ordered up out of 2 barracks and same with all production facilitys.
Scvs were called to fight too.
Reavers destroyed 2-3 tanks every 6 scarabs.
Archons died relativly quickly, for the bunkers on the middle plateau destroyed alot of them..
Then, after more destruction, 1 tank + 4 scvs came out vs a reaver. 2 scvs died. But, We were still alive, and we expanded to our mineral only, and constructed around 10 mroe scvs.
My commander being exhausted, and our oppent giving up, decided to ally. He was completely out of minerals and he only had 1 expansion due to cliff drops.

Lessons learned :
- Terran are good on showdown.
- Even though protoss is my race, i'll play terran on showdown.
- For protoss, carriers and dweb is needed on showdown+ storm.
