Lick-me

vs

BloodGosu

Level: Lost Temple

Match Type: one on one

Pregame:

And so it begins... Another battle in the world of StarCraft...
Two players battling for dominance on a far off planet...

Lick-me chooses the mighty Protoss as his race, while BloodGosu
picks the Zerg to represent himself. Neither player reveals a
hint of their strategy to each other or to me...

At the Start:

Both players are placed near the top right corner of the map,
Lost Temple. BloodGosu immediately sends his overlord scouting.
Lick-me, not to be outdone, has a probe moving to the south within
a minute...

Wrong direction. While the probe checks out the scenery away
from both forces, BloodGosu's overlord comes across Lick-me's
base, which is just getting started up the tech tree. Meanwhile,
BloodGosu mutates a double hatchery, spawning pool combo in his
base... A sign of a zergling rush.

First Contact:

BloodGosu's camping overlord is given a nice, cold welcome
by four photon cannons, forcing a retreat. The overlord leaves
sight of Lick-me's base, and is almost immediately replaced by
an eight zergling rush, which moves to the left side of the town
and takes out a single photon cannon. Three zerglings lose their
lives in the process... The first casualties of the war.

The remaining five zerglings destroy the gateway, out of range
of the rest of the photon cannons. The weakened force then retreats
to the west, so as not to be annihilated like their not-so-lucky
companions...

While Lick-me attempts to rebuild what was lost, BloodGosu
builds up a zergling army, through three hatcheries, at his main
base and his newly-founded expansion site.

Reinforcements arrive quickly to the zerglings, in the form
of, well, more zerglings. The group of seventeen moves back into
town, targeting the only pylon in the base. Six more zerglings
perish, but the other eleven, having shut down the photon cannons,
are able to completely destroy the town. Every... last... building.

But the game isn't over.

Expansion Discovery:

Lick-me has started up his first expansion base, much to the
surprise of BloodGosu, to the southwest of his previous town.
Photon cannons are already being warped in by the probes who escaped
the once existent main base.

BloodGosu sends single zerglings out in all directions to find
the expansion. One of the creatures finds the base, and screams
out a distress signal to the others before evaporating, courtesy
of a photon cannon.

The Final Battle:

The zergling forces regroup to the northeast of the expansion
base, and come rushing in...

Lick-me is overwhelmed by a force of over 30 zerglings! This
time, BloodGosu's forces target the probes first, and then go
for the photon cannons. Several zerglings die, while many more
survive to witness the destruction of Lick-me's only Nexus.

Having nothing left but a gateway and a pylon, Lick-me submits
to the Zerg swarm, giving the victory to the zerglings of BloodGosu!

The Victor:

BloodGosu and his mighty zerglings!

Thanks to Blizzard for developing the awesome game of StarCraft,
and to Lick-me and BloodGosu for fighting a great battle and being
good sports!
