This has got to be one of my biggest games so far.
i started out in the top middle as terran, my pal lonewolf-gore was toss, and told me he was bottom right, so just incase i go on a rampage save him for last, heh yea right.
i knew this was going to be a LOOOOOONG game and i was in for quite a night, the game starting at around 6pm eastern, give or take an hour :) anyways, i started out by pausing the game and getting something to drink and popping some day old taco's in the microwave.
i came back to see the game unpaused and lonewolf swearing at the other guy for unpausing it. i was a at 4 minute disadvantage, but i seemed to have a heavy amount of minerals on my hands, so the guy must of unpaused it the second i left. i went straight and like a moron took 4 of 5 scv's and built 4 barracks and a scv.
knowing this was a dumb idea, but afraid of a early attack , i did it anywyays. i then built around 5 more scv's with marines in between. i had about 12 marines when a unsuspecting overlord happens to stumble across my barracks, after some heavy bullet damage, the overlord is dealt with in seconds. I then went on and built a factory, floating it to the top of the valley's. I planned on taking control of the tops.
i threw up a factory and had my first tank going when a heard of 24 weased crazy hydras attacked my base, ack! but i had more marines by then, and i luckly killed them off, i decided to build a row of bunkers to protect my base, and as my scv went out i saw a hatchery , 2 sukens and some hydras, i thought to myself, damn. i had to do something quick ,so i sent all my marines to it, and totally crushed his expansion.
as that was going on , one of the players kept swearing and saying B*TCH u gonna die now!!
i said, hey just cause i destroyed ur expansion don't get all wild at me, another player said, i didn't... silence...about 10 seconds later lonewolf says, go to hell and stay there!!! then the other player was eliminated
down to 7 players, sounded like lonewolf did is famous zealot rush, that just worried me more, knowing that i was lucky to have this sorry zerg player attack me rather then a toss player with 24 z's, by then i had about 3 tanks with seige and i was scouting the top's.
i found zerg's base and set up my tanks above his mineral expansion, obliterating all his drones. and he did nothing. he then announced he had no cash and no drones, so he dropped,
wahoo 6 players left :D
this game was going good , considering that i always am the first to get killed in a 8ffa, but not this time.
another zerg playe found my base, and to my stupidity , i still haven't expanded yet, arg! this time that zerg player wasn't so forgiving , sending in a wave of muta's, but my mass marine tactic simply tore those mutas another glaven, wahoo, i hot keyed 8 groups of marines, and sent them to the middle, i used my tanks to finish of the left zerg player's buildings , and sent my expansion there, leaving his buildings so that all would think that a zerg player was there.
by the time i got all my marines in the middle , yet another few rounds of swear words being said, and lonewolf saying, sory , but ur not worth looking at, so i decided to kill u :P
i was hating myself , since i didn't make any assaults yet, other then the zerg player who just left.
theres only 5 players left, including me and lonewolf
my marines were in the middle , sitting there like a bunch of dumb marines they are, i was looking at my expansion when i heard , your forces are under attack, i thought man what little thing has gone now, before i could look i heard lonewolf gore say, mmmm tasty marines..
i looked at the middle just in time to see about 12 templars of lonewolf walking around, and no marines what so ever!!! i was pissed, it seemed like all the zerg players were gone now so that was a plus, i really hate them guys.
the little battles of marines, templars, and others went on, i expanded to control 10 plateau's, i was dominating the top, sending seige tanks to force players into submission, but 4 hours later, it seemd that this game was forever and minerals were going scarce, i started to get serious, with my famous mass rushing i built 3 more barracks making a total of 7 barracks, all of them made ghosts, fully upgraded and packing, i hotkeyed 3 groups of ghosts and sent them over to the terrans , one of many expansions, i just obliterated it, poorly defended, must of just been made since only 2 scv's were working.
after i destroyed that, a science vessel came by and a rain of seige tore away my ghosts, i managed to have 15 or so ghost left before i killed that damn thing, and since i had about 12 expansions, i had some serious nukes, ok so i only built 4 nukes, but that's still better than nothing, i stumbled into his main base cloaked, he had about 24 tanks, and bunkers galore!! my cloak was 25 points from disappearing, so i thought of a trick, i took one ghost and put it in the middle of the heard of tanks, i uncloaked it, and all the tanks went crazy killing off 2 other tanks, he seemed pissed at this, i then did this 3 times, and the 4th he just unseiged the tanks to prevent damage, just as i was hoping, i then sent 4 ghost in all locations,stratigically placing nukes around his base, i told him, naughty naughty,TIME TO DIE!!! i successfully killed all his tanks and defense, i had him won,
just then another swear war going on between someone and lonewolf-gore, lonewolf-gore completting victory, yet again over some guy.
i sent in some marines and cleared up his main base, i then sent some wraiths scouting for some expansions he may have left, not finding any , lonewolf gore shouted out, gotcha, gotcha, every 10 minutes or so, finally the guy just left,...so it was just me and lonewolf
me , the leader of clan gore, vs. lonewolf, new recruit! and might i add a damn good player. it was now about 1 in the morning, long and vigorous battle's have been faught, all my mineral expansions gone, due to no minerals, the map was wiped clean. I was more confident of my win now then bill clinton on saying he didn't have relations with lewinksi, it was a mind game now. who successfully pulled off a good attack, we sat talking about stuff, trying to trick each other, it was 2 in the morning, lonewolf now using, tricks like saying, he has to go to the bathroom, i'll put u on the honor system,...i believed him...the first 6 times he said that in 10 minutes
i said lonewolf!! what are u diabetic or something?
he just smiled, as soon as i could say something else, a pack of 12 carriers and 24 scouts went parading on my expansions like nobodies business.... i was getting nervous, i was all out of strategies, i then thought of my 6 factories i had at the top, and he was at 7:30 rounding the map killing off my expansions.. it thought, goood i have time, so i built 3 hotkeys full of goliaths by the time he came around, and i had 5 hotkeys of marines on the ground that just killed 4 of his expansions. by the time the air mass came through my goliaths just ate them faster then a fat man eats a pizza after a month of dieting,
i thought he must be dumb or something, the only expansion i had was the first expansion i made right next to me, his carriers didint' do anything against me BTW.
i knew he didn't have any more expansions left, so i sent 5 groups of marines to his main base, comcasting the whole base seeing that nothing was there... phew, so i sent the marines to his base, a group fell to photon cannons but i kept pushing through.
all of a sudden, *around 3:00 am in the morning* i heard, your forces are under attack, WTF a swarm of zealots, dragoons, archons, templars, reavers, u name it he had it at my expansion, the screen was packed!!!
i knew he knew i had only a main base left, and he knew i knew he only had a main base left, so it was a race to see who could destroy each other first... i sent my marines in his base and obliterated everything, i had 1 factory left, and he had 1 unpowered warpgate, i look at the powers and it looked like my factory was gone, and it was, he laughed and said gg commander, so for beating u, not so tough for a leader :) j/k
i said gg to, but it then said lonewolf-gore has been defeated, i plum forgot, i had built a supply depot in the very top right of the map just in case of this situation , :D i got back to the chat and he said, what the hell happend!! i said, sorry, i had back up building :)
lessons learned
- never play a 8ffa espcially on green valleys
- a 9 hour game only makes ur skills sharper, and makes u appreciate your minerals in future games
- in green valley, its good to take control of the top and use seige whenever possible
- attack early for shorter game
- and don't forget to build a building in the middle of nowhere in case of those desperate situations
- its not possible to tell every little battle in a 9 hour 8ffa game
