Hi Kids. Tonight We bring you a gripping (I hope) tale of a showdown played on none other than...

Lost Temple. Bleh

Oh well. We can deal with The Temple. Good property values there. And some beautiful views.

The Playas
Team Wombat
Fractal_Wave
Yellow Zerg (chosen) @ 6:00
Tiamatic
Teal Terran (chosen) @ 12:00

Team Llama
$pa@ni$peon
White Zerg (chosen) @ 9:00
Annie47
Orange Terran (chosen) @ 3:00

It took a while to track down a 4th for the game. Myself & SpanishPeon took turns going to find people, while the other person used the time to hit on Annie47. Neither of us scored though. Drat.

...Mountain Vistas, Great views

...And, we're live here on this great day at the Lost Temple! Gee, this place sure is beautiful...
There's a yellow zerg infestation down south, and it looks like the local Cerebrate is going for a 8 or 9 pool, then a 2nd hatchery...and he's sending his overlord to scout the 9:00 position!...hey, what are you doing? You can't come up here! No, go away! Hey! Hey! put that down, no wait!
~crash~
~thwack~
~pbwak~
~bang!~

...Stupid announcers...

Anyways, now that I've dealt with him, Me & Tiamatic discuss opening moves and decide to rush someone. Hey, it's the motto of this channel:
Reach out and rush someone!
My scoutin' overlord reveals that 6:00 is SpanishPeon, and that he has yet to lay down a pool! My my, what fun.
I assemble 6 zerglings, tiamatic contributes 4 marines, and we march off to certain victory.

SpanishPeon's Pool finishs while we're on the way. And his Overlord finds me.

We meet in front of the 6:00 ramp, swarm up the ramp, and see...oog. A second hatchery, with a bunch of zerglings guarding it. Boo! Hiss! Foul!

We proceed to dismember & aerate the defending zerglings, and begin banging on the hatchery.
In retrospect, that was a huge mistake. We should have attacked his drones...but we didn't, and soon enough some freshly-spawned zerglings come to remove us.

I try to power my way through. Waves (well, alright, more like ripples) of zerglings crash into SpanishPeon's ramp, but the defending 'lings hold me off.

A squad of 6 marines assembles below the ramp, waiting for zergling support to aid them.
The next wave of eight lings sprints up the ramp, looking to test Isaac Newton's theory of "Spotting for Marines."
They're overwhelmed by the white zerglings hordes. Newton lived in vain.

But Einstein's "Spore Colony Overlord Elemination Theory states that: "If you put a spore colony under an Overlord, that Overlord will pop."
Einstein did not live in vain. SpanishPeon can't see my base anymore.

Now my yellow swarms are angry. They want revenge. They want to prove Newton right. To battelcries of "Racist!" and "Yellow will prevail!" 11 zerglings move out for battle. 6 marines also move into position. And as they stride past the cliff, a gigantic...thing bursts from the ground, attempting to impale a marine!

Marine: My gawd! It's Mark4's penis!
Sargerant: Son, that's a sunken colony & you just failed the "Elementary Zerg Defense" Course! Drop and give me 20!"

Unfortunetely, he was speared a second time while he was doing pushups, and perished.
My zerglings arrive & are attacked by no less that three sunkens on the cliff. We decide that we cannot break through that, and my now-10 zerglings leave to examine the terran's natural expansion.

I take the time to expand to my natural & leave 6 zerglings guarding the entrace.

...oh god...you shot me! you shot me right in the arm!...~gasp~...see what I mean about those ~gasp~ mountain vistas folks? They're just amazing for keeping unwandted zerglings off your doorste-~thwak~

Who is that guy? Anyone know? Any guesses?

...Terrifying Local Wildlife...

Thanks to judicous comsats, we've learnt that Annie47 has 2 bunkers on defense, and that she's got tanks. Hrm. How depressing. A tough nut to crack. But, she's turretless. A tailor-made lurker situation.

My Overlord over SpanishPeon's infestation shows double lairs, but no hydra den...yet. We assume that a hydra drop is on the way.

I lay down a den, and begin my own Lair, and begin to get my expansion running...time passes some gas... and I've got 4 lurkers good to go.
Tiamatic has taken his natural by now, and is mining it for all it's worth. He's got hordes of marines, medics & 3 or 4 tanks.

My lurkers go on their mission. Tiamatic throws down a comsat for me, and I see that a M&M horde with tank support is coming down the ramp. But with no science vessel.
These Terrans are...amusing, but futile.

My lurkers burrow across the exit of the natural. I see a marine come into view. I begin slaming the "s" key down. I don't want any lurkers "going off" without my permission.
The marine just stand there, picking his teeth, waiting for the order to move out, blissfully unaware of the fact that death awaits.

As the M&M horde moves over my lurkers, I unleash them.
Armor cracks like eggs, marines scream in agony as they are ripped apart. The comsat comes, but it is too late. All the infantry are dead. The three tanks got away.

Remember those 10 zerglings that I had guarding Annie47's natural? Well, I had them hidden behind the minerals. Now they leap into action. I wait for the comsat to reveal my lurkers. The tanks fire. As they Arclite Shock Cannons cooldown, my zerglings tear into them. At the same time, my three remaining lurkers unburrow and skitter towards the tanks. They are splattered around like so much garbage, but my zerglings killed 2 tanks before being removed my reinforcments

One terran strike force o' doom, neutered. Just as well. Gotta keep the marines calm with all those medics around.

...I'm not dead...no, I'm NOT dead..just..very -ouch!- badly burned...oooo...those...aaaohgod...lurkers, sure are fiesty, eh folks? Local wildlife at it's fines-~whoaoboom!~
~boom!~
~boom!~
~tssss...~

Finally. That guy has more lives than a cat.

..Short Travel Times, Easy Commuting!

A minor lull at the moment, as it seems like everyone's rebuilding. It was not to last though.
Annie47 rebuilt her strike team, and went out to raise a little hell at Tiamatic's expansion. She begins setting up her tank push, complete with floating barracks. Unfortunetely, her pointman is spotted by your's truely, who alerts Annie47 to the threat. A comsat later, and the 3 tanks with marine support are exposed for all to see.
Tiamatic begins counter measures. Marines, tanks and medics rush to the red zone, and begin to attack...the barracks? Yes, in a brillant move by Annie47, the marnes targeted the floating barracks, letting the seige tanks pound away at them. An excellent move on Annie's part. But it wasn't enough. Tiamatic's reserves are seemingly endless, and when four teal tanks seige up by the two remaining orange tanks, Tiamatic decide to pay a visit on Annie47. I round up all my troops: 18 zerglings, 4 hydras and a lurker. They hightail it to Annie47's natural, find nothing, climb the ramp & chill there while Tiamatic's marines & tanks show up.

..cough..cough..i say old chap...what's that..ohgod...my lung...what's that splash of white on your minimap?
Fractal_Wave: What?
...just there. between you base & spanishpeon's
Fractal_Wave: Oh my god.

Yes, it's $p@niShPeon, come with a whole shit load of overlords to attempt to remove me from the game. And all my troops are attacking Annie47 is in worse shape than me. The zerg hordes combined with the power of the Terran war machine have shattered her base. Her lifted-off buildings attempt to traverse the map towards SpanishPeon's base. Marines begin using them for target practice.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the sky darkens from incoming overlords. The carnage commences...Claws, spines and carapace are strewn like feathers over my base. I am left with the horrible sight of all my troops gone, all my drones slain, my second hatchery gone and three white-supremist zerglings beating on my hydra den. My expansion is the only thing that's keeping me alive.

Tiamatic is moping up Annie's base. He can't help for a while.

I perversly triain 2 hydras at my natural. If he doesn't want me to have hydras, then by God I will have hydras! Then I see them. My saviors. The 6 aposltles they should be called. My 6 zerglings who were guarding my natural fom the attack that never came. They sprint in to my base & remove the offending zerglings. I've survived two waves...but now I have 2 hydras! Hooray. I can kill anything now....hey, maybe I can!

My hydras become lurkers. One stays to hold my natural incase of a drop, the othe goes and burrows right where the last 2 drops were.
Just in time. Here comes wave 3. El Peon D'Espanol drops his troops with in range of my lurker. My other lurker is coming to help. Spines pop out of the ground, rending zerglings limb from limb. The overlords can only drop so many troops at a time. My lurker can kill almost that many troops at a time. It's a war of attrition that I can't win.
Until lurker #2 shows up, burrows, and begins popping zerglings like there's no tomorrow. There might not be. My first lurker dies, but the drop is stopped. I've got 5 drones out of my lair, and I begin sunkening & sporing up my base. Not fast enough. More overlords are on their way. These ones are smart. They drop away from my lurker, and they begin trying to remove my already-damaged lair. As colony after colony comes online, my lair explodes in a shower of ichor & blood. I was very sad. That drone died a virgin. Poor guy.

...Local Police Support Avaliable!

Yep. It's called Tiamatic's Dropships Cavalry. It consists of 7 marines, a medic, and two tanks. It's great. I'd recommend it to anyone.

The offening whities are removed. Another dropship squad goes into hit SpanishPeon's base. The Peon had been fighting hard, and his troops were depleted. No match for a squad and a half of Dropship Cavalry.

As a wave of zerglings rush the dropees, they're quickly liquified by rifle and tank fire.

gg's are exchanged, and I begin to breath again.

To make a long story short, the Lost Temple's a great place to buy land. Good views, friendly flora & fauna, wonderful security, and the people are just the best.
err..watch out for the protoss though...

LESSONS LEARNED

-Lurkers simply rock if you take the time to mirco them well. But that microing cost me a huge amount of unit production.
-Fear counter attacks.
-Aim for the Drones.
-Scout. Know how many expansions your victims have. If SpanishPeon had dropped my natural, I would have been doomed.
-Who was the announcer guy anyways?
-What's the best race combo for a 2v2? Any thoughts?
-Tiamatic owns me. He did all the work in that game. I was just cannon fodder.

-Sweet game all.
-I don't know if that was the "real" Annie47 playing or one of her relatives...I'm confused about that.

I hope all the HTML & pics works
Mark4, hope you don't mind the penis joke.
SpanishPeon & Annie, i hope you don't mind being Llamas..it was the 1st animal that sprang 2 mind after "wombat"
My Imaging Editing Skillz OWN YRM's

All the best,
