As the 8 pool went up in -Flathead-'s base, he thought back to the other two battles he had already had with Matrixboy, both bloodbaths in their own right... As a sunken morphed on his creep and the first 4 zerglings popped, 6 zerglings from his opponent's 7 pool attempt threw themselves to their deaths. -Flathead- sighed, qued up a second hatch, and let his mind wander....
It had started innocently enough, with -Flathead- asking for a late-night game in the nohunters channel. His unworthy opponent, Matrixboy, seemed nice enough at first, but ended up keeping -Flathead- up way too late. Matrixboy asked for a 1v1 with -Flathead-, and the first game on Challenger commenced.
-Flathead- chose zerg, and found that Matrixboy had gone with protoss. Challenger was the first battlefield they chose. -Flathead- was busy building a second hatch, then spawning pool, when Matrixboy typed "I'm gonna own u". -Flathead- giggled and went on.
Not a minute later, there were cannons beginning to warp in right next to -Flathead-'s empty gas geyser. -Flathead- quickly erected two sunkens to protect against the warping cannons, as matrixboy typed "GG. I've already got 14 zealots". LOL!!! The sunkens morphed and took out two cannons and had to leave the other two out of range. -Flathead- didn't have the heart to tell matrixboy that sometimes he went entire games against Protoss without mining gas.
As his overlord reached the enemy base, -Flathead- noticed that there were no cannons protecting his opponent's peons. 12 zerglings started on their way to the enemy base, avoiding the cannons near his geyser. -Flathead-, seeing three warping cannons at the protoss main, decided to shred the probes. Every last probe was dead before the cannons warped and took out the zerglings.
Then, Matrixboy again typed, "GG you penis whacker. Now I've got you". -Flathead- looked, and there were three cannons warping *on the other side* of his peon line. LOL!!! Again two sunkens went up and killed the two cannons that were too close to the peons, leaving the rest for later. This was when matrixboy asked for a rematch. He asked nicely enough, and -Flathead- was mildly amused by the insults, so he created another game on River Styx.
This time -Flathead- chose Protoss, and matrixboy went random, and drew Terran.
-Flathead- went with two gates early, and as usual sent his first 4 zealots out for blood. When they got to the Terran choke at the bottom, two bunkers greeted them, only one of which was filled with marines. Seeing this, the zealots concentrated on that bunker until it was gone. One zealot was lost and the 4 marines that were inside the bunker were killed. Just then, 4 firebats and 1 medic approached, which made the 3 injured zealots retreat.
This was a really good resource win for Protoss, and made the Terran think zealot rush. -Flathead- stopped zealot production long enough to get a second nexus and geyser, and start Templar tech.
When the first of -Flathead-'s 4 templars came out, he sent it on a seek and destroy mission, along with 6 zealots and 6 dragoons. At the enemy base, a scout zealot was killed by a group of about 24 stimmed firebats/medics, but not before the Templar could que up a psi- storm raid on the group. Psi killed 20 of the 24 firebats in an instant, making -Flathead- type "Psi-storm rocks". -Flathead simply couldn't help himself. As he slammed into the (now very sparse) terran defenses of one bunker and two tanks, -Flathead commented how those firebats would have really torn him up had they had the chance.... At which point Matrixboy typed "OK FU, one more game on Bloodbath, game name and pass MATRIX".
-Flathead- looked at the clock and sighed. 1:45 AM. OK, best three out of three.
Which brings us back to the unsuccessful 6ling attack on -Flathead-'s base at the beginning of our story. After that attack failed, it was a matter of time before 48 speed upgraded zerglings ran into the drone-weak zerg opponent's base, and matrixboy left the game, without a word. At least he was silent for once.
