Wraith Power

It was a rainy Saturday, and having nothing to do after lunch I decided to play a Brood War game with a friend of mine (by modem). So let's the game begin!

Map: Le Temple Perdu (The Lost Temple (I thought it might look different if the title was in another language :))

Odd~Eye - White Terran (Chosen) 12 o'clock
Azmodan@~~ - Yellow Terran (Chosen) 3 o'clock

THE LANDING

I landed my Command Center and immediatly send 4 SCV's to different mineral patches and began the construction of more SVC's. My 7th built a Supply Depot, and my 8th a Barracks. I sent my SCV #9 on a scouting mission. It first went to 9 o'clock: empty. Then to the 6 o'clock position: empty too. I decided to leave him there since i knew where my opponent was, and since he is in LOVE with Siege Tanks, I decided that Wraiths would be a good choice. I distracted him by telling him my bother was jacking off. Meanwhile, my 12-13th SCV began the construction of a Refinery. 4 SCV's were gathering the precious gases. I placed two Bunkers at my ramp, and quickly placed marines in. Other marines were constructed, and an academy was erected to sweep scan my opponent. Not much time after an SCV was ordered to construct a Factory As soon as the academy was finished, I added a Sweep Scan to my Command Center. Comsat revealed a Siege Tanks rush and some infantry. I built 2 Vultures in case the infantry attacked. And then I began constructing Starports.

THE AIR CONTROL

The one at my main had a Control Tower added as soon as it was finished. And my SCV at the 6 o'clock position (remember him?) began the construction of another Starport. And then I began making Wraiths and Wraiths and Wraiths. I also researched the Cloaking device that would help me very much. 6 o'clock SCV made another Starport. When I had 8 Wraiths, I attacked! There were no Towers (no big surprise there knowing that my friend over-defends his ramp and leaves the rest of his base undefended). I began shoting his Comsat, and when it went KABOOM!, I clocked my Wraiths and began shooting SCV's. Then, Infantry came to the rescue, and a Comsat showed them my Clocked Wraiths. Tabarnak! I destroyed his Marines pretty quickly and then, I started shooting the Command Center. But before it was destroyed, a Science Vessel came near enough to reveal my Wraiths to the brave Marines and Medics. I shot down the SV in no time, and destroyed the infantry (By the way, Wraiths kept coming out to help the others). Finally the Command Center was destroyed. I moved to the Barrack, and shot it down interrupted twice by annoying Marines (since I couldn't cloak them). Finally the Barrack was destroyed then the four Supply Depots near. Since he didn't want to lose his precious tanks he lifted his Factory: BOOOOM! Wraiths hit hard in the air. I then decided I should expand to my natural. I built a Command Center, and sent another group of Wraiths to his main. They destroyed his Science Facility. Meanwhile some Wraiths of his own got out of the Starport, he cloaked them and began shooting my own, uncloaked Wraiths. I then realized that I had forgotten to hotkey my Comsat. Calisse! I quickly did that, revealed his lone Wraith, and destroyed it. My expansion was not doing bad but I got more SCV's out. Finally his main was destroyed when I shot down the E-Bay, but he had heavily defended a little outpost near my ramp, but he couldn't advance since there were Spider Mines :) My first group of Wraiths found 2 empty Bunkers and quickly took them out. By that time I had 2 Siege Tanks on the edge of my main. I decided to send 2 more in a Dropship to the other side, so that he couldn't advance at all. When the Tanks arrived, Other Siege Tanks began shooting them, but I had the advantage and I destroyed the two Tanks and a Turret. My brother then said to Nuke the Hell out of him: ALRIGHT!

NUKING IS AN ART

I quickly got a Science Facility, Covert-Ops add-on, Cloak and Eye Sight. My Command Center at my expansion then floated a little to south to construct a Nuclear Silo. Once I had all the upgrades I needed and the Nuke I dropped the Ghost out of Range of the Bunker and of the last remaining Siege Tank. The Nuke finally hit its target and then Azmodan@~~ left the game; without a gg :(

Lessons learned:

-Early Wraiths kick ass!
-Nukes Rock!
-Terrans Rock!
-An army with 50% of Siege Tanks will never make you win if the opponent has air units
-Lifting builings against Wraiths, Scouts or Scrouges if a bad idea!
-Not hot-keying your Comsat is a bad idea :(
-Writing a report in a foreign language is tough
-That was not a bad game for a 3rd game against a non-cpu opponent
