The Flaws of Hard Economy...
I was looking for a game on NoHunters, and joined a game made by Degraded_Probe. In it I found Probe and Pissed_Slurgi, but Probe told me this was a 1v1, so I naturally asked to watch.
Note: Probe is also InactiveAccount, the Zerg from my previous BR.
The Setup
The Map: well-known, well-loved, over-played Lost Temple
The Entertainment Brigade:
VERSUS
First Game
Probe started at the 6:00 start, while Slurgi started at 3:00.
Probe uses whats looks like a standard 9-pool build order. However, he goes for an early expansion attempt at his natural while scouting with his first Overlord.
Slurgi goes for a Depot, Rax, Rax, Depot sort of build, while scouting with his SCVs. He notices Probe's early expansion and immediately sends his first 7 marines over to hopefully reduce it to primeval goo. Unfortunately for him, he is driven off by zerglings and a sunken colony.
In response to this failed assault, Probe starts amassing hydras. He does not yet have a Lair, however, so no Lurkers appear among his forces.
Slurgi, on the other hand, starts an expansion at his own natural then sends a large squad of M&Ms over to Probe to say Hi.
Unfortunately, this assault fails:

Probe retaliates, forcing Slurgi's expansion SCVs to flee:

This attack is stopped by reinforcment M&Ms. Meanwhile, Probe has upgraded to a Lair but for some reason has not yet morphed any Lurkers.
Slurgi, on his side, has been assembling a new, larger, and more upgraded army of M&Ms, and has commenced Tank production. He sends a new wave of attackers over to Probe:

This attack, as I'm sure you can tell from the attacking drones, is successful: Slurgi destroys Probe's new expansion at his mineral-only natural and his old one as well.
In preparation for the final push, Slurgi musters his forces on the soil of Probe's old expansion (you can just make out the smell of malt liquor if you try hard enough ;) ). However, while chasing a Science Vessel, Probe's Mutalisks run into Slurgi's army. Probe surrenders when he sees this:

Second Game
Determined not to be out-done by a lowly human, Probe demands a rematch. He decides to go random while Slurgi picks Terrans.
However, 3 minutes into the game, when both sides have scouted, I finally reveal what has been killing me with laughter:

That's right! Everything, even the starting positions and the choice of strategy was the same!
This time around both players know exactly what to do: after spotting Probe's early expansion hatchery, he immediately starts his natural expansion. Probe establishes heavy anti-M&Ms defences. Consequentially, neither side attacks until they are both quite powerful.
The first attack is made by Slurgi: a large force of M&Ms moves straight to Probe's expansion. However, the force is eradicated by no less than 5 (!) Sunken colonies. Seeing this, Slurgi declares "Tank time!" and starts two factories.
When his first two tanks come out, he immediately starts to tank push. Unfortunately for him, Probe had cunningly burrowed Zerglings where he expected the push to come:

These, in combination with lots of Mutalisks, eradicate the push:

In response to this, Probe sends his Mutalisks to attack Slurgi's main. This proves uneffective, as 9 or so fresh marines drive off the flying Zerg spawn.
Slurgi decideds his tank push should be effective. He starts a new one shortly after the mutie incursion. Again, Zerglings and Mutalisks attack it, but this time the Terrans come out on top.

Probe's expansion is razed to the ground, and again Slurgi musters his army where once Drones mined Minerals.

Slurgi commences his final assault. He brushes past the few remaining Zerg defenders and finds himself in the heart of the Zerg base.

The Hive falls rapidly, and the day belongs to the Terrans!
Comments:
- Slurgi played very well. Although he was a bit slow to upgrade his 'rines (especially in the second game) he made few errors, and chose effective plans.
- Probe failed to capitalize of his economy: in both games, I did not see a single Lurker or Guardian! Without the proper counter to Marines, he was pretty much doomed, good economy or not.
- Additionally, he chose the same tactic in both games: early expansion. This probably was a great mistake, since by now Slurgi knew very well how to counter this strategy. He should have tried a 6-pool, or something less predictable... maybe...
Either way, great games, guys, and a real pleasure to watch!
