"There are so many ways to annoy a Zerg player, it's not even funny. Actually, it's really funny, so I retract my previous statement."

-Flathead- and Highpriest131 lined up opposite each other from the field of battle. Highpriest, choosing the protoss, was confident that his power game would suit to win, choosing high tech and micromanagement over masses of units. Would his style beat out on -Flathead-'s massing style? Only time would tell.

At the inception, -Flathead- went with a 2-gate opening, only getting gas after the 16th or 17th probe. Highpriest went with a gate, forge opening, opting to have a few cannons built for town defense, and going with gas a little earlier, around the 13th probe. A scouting probe was killed on each side, making this portion of the battle more even.

-Flathead-, always liking to punish super-early techers, sent his first two zealots. Meeting up with one zealot and a warping cannon, -Flathead- opted to kill the zealot then leave, taking the early 100 mineral win. He used this opportunity to build a super-early second nexus at his gimme expansion, which is a safer move on Styx than on some other maps. He chose this partly because of a lack of mobile troops on his opponent's part, and partly because he wanted that third gate really quickly. Rally points for both gateways were set at his opponent's mineral only expansion, just out of range of the cannons. -Flathead- built zealots only until he had a force of 7, then decided to tech.

At this point Both players built cyber cores, but when they warped the players' plans diverged. -Flathead- opted to build a third, then fourth gateway, as his expansion was starting to pay back with some mineral gathering. Highpriest went with two Stargates, making it look as if there were carriers+corsiars in the mix. Both players were pumping dragoons and the odd zealot at this point.

-Flathead-, seeing an obvious advantage, sent 12 dragoons and the 7 zealots against his opponent's 7 dragoons, 4 zealots, and 3 cannons. Highpriest's forces were barely able to hold off this first wave with 1 cannon and no troops remaining.

The second wave of 3 zealots and 9 dragoons proved to be too much, however. Highpriest was warping in two more cannons, but the few dragoons he had mustered, along with a (disruptionless) pair of corsair, was not sufficient to stop the onslaught. Muttering about liking long games and something about hating to have to build dragoons and zealots all day, Highpriest said his "gg" and left the battlefield, beaten in this battle but willing to war another day.
