Unfortunately, some of our own fellow Protoss had the same idea. It was a race to see who could gain control of the Forest before the other guy and the loser would again be exiled to the wonder of space. It was a 2on2 and we gained our ally called kickyourass.com and were facing two other public guys riglord and commanderweenie or something like that. We all had Random race on our scanners but oddly enough we found out that all of us were Protoss. We Warped in at 9 and my newly found ally warped in at 11. We found out that the enemy tosses warped in at 1 and 3. The battle for Sherwood forest was on!
This is where things start turning bad.. (And thats pretty bad since the game has not started yet) I set up my Com-Link into his database and I check to see if he hears me. I get an ok but unfortunately thats the last I heard of him. Sadly this guy was one of those Commanders and spent his time with 6 of his other buddies and all practiced on one simulator. (in other words 7on1 CPU games) He tried to rush Yellow at 1 with 3 zealots and I thought he might have done some damage until about 10 zealots showed up and beat him back. I kept telling him to drawback and wait for me as I was teching to goons right off the bat. Unfortunatly They proceeded to his base. Still having not heard a word from him I sent some troops to his base. come to find out blue has cannoned me in! I dispatched the cannons fairly quickly but not before my ally attacked the 3 zealots in his base with ALL his probes *smack* they continued to punish probe after probe until I got the *kickyourass.com has left the game.* Its was all up to me. I took the advantage of them finishing off my allies blood by expanding to 10 and quickly adding a temps archive and 2 more gateways. I needed to summon my brethren from templer school to help fight. I also got a reaver and Observer building and had two robo bays going. Both of the enemies attacked! I only had 8 goons to defend my base at this point as my others had gotten detoured from my allies base. 14 Zealots and 2 goons poured in. Thanks to my knowledge in *Protoss Base Building for dummies* book I had cannons where the zealots couldn't get too. I had successfully defended my base! 3 of my templar friend finally showed up and 2 reavers were ready to roll. I ordered my Shuttle to raid Yellows Expansion attemp at 12 provided from my scouting of my *Spytech Observers* The Reavers turned the Probes into space dust as the expansion fell rather quickly. I then I knew the time to strike must come. I rallyed my dragoons toward the lightly defended yellow base. BUT IT WAS A TRICK! I was flanked from the side by DTs and Zealots I tried to retreat the brave goons but Blue had blocked my Enterance again with Goons and Zealots. I was in trouble, and I was mad. I had lost many a goon for nothing and it was time for revenge.
I stationed an observer over my ramp along with two Dts and had templars stationed behind them, along with newly made goons behind. Guur the templar Stormed some of the yellow force building up in front then stormed them again when trying to attack. Then Blue engaged with Reavers and a carrier. I stormed the reavers and my goons held the fort against the Carrier. Then Revenge was mine, I rallied the goons and tried another attack against yellow after seeing his DOOM FORCE crushed. About 18-20 Goons and a reaver and two templar Stormed the Yellow main and CommanderWeenie Hyperlinked out before getting Destoryed (Disconnected). One down, one to go. By this time I had start two more expansions and was really low on cash at the moment, I had to play safe. I made 3 Dark Archons and researched their mind control because even though my Observers could not get past the wall of cannons, I saw the Stargates warping. I then went for Arbiter Tech as I saw a Soft spot in the Bask of his base. Blue must have not been a money man as he only had one expansion to my 3. The time has come. I moved my arbiter into position and recalled about 8 goons, 2 DA, a temp and a Reaver and attacked the Front with Zealots, and goons. Blue Surrendered the Sherwood forest to me and left the game. I had won!!
Notes:
- Never Give up, I made two BAD mistakes, getting cannoned in and losing my goons to a flank attack, yet I still won!
- Toss vs toss is goons, goons and more goons, with a little HT on the side.
- A reaver drop sure can turn the tides on a battle as Yellow never again attacked me after I dropped him hehe.
- Base Placement is Key! I would have lost if I would not hidden my cannons.
