As the enemy naval fleet made its way towards my shores I prepared myself for the coming of the ugly. My squids snuck around the destroyers and went straight for the expensive carriers. All but one went down. Squids take awhile to kill a ship, but while they’re at work, there’s really not much you can do to stop them. My opponent didn’t even try, he just parked dolphins around them. As soon as the carriers went down, my squids were badly outnumbered but they slaughtered their fair share of dolphins. I had a good force of subs, but I had to choose which was the biggest priority, the destroyers or the transports. I took a gamble and decided my base defenses and ground based response teams would handle anything in the transports. That task would probably prove very difficult if his landing troops had support from the destroyers.
My subs had to be micromanaged around the larger force of destroyers, sinking one, retreating, finding another and retreating. They chewed away at the edges of his destroyer formations, but they were taking too long. I took another gamble and sent a bunch of subs after his naval yards to stem off the reinforcements. All the while I had to build more squid to combat the encroaching dolphin swarm. Picking away at the enemy is all well and good, except for when its in the defense of your homeland. The first wave of troops that landed, along with paratrooper reinforcements took heavy casualties in the blink of an eye, but my stationary defensive structures were quickly leveled after a few volleys from the destroyers. A response team was sent and quickly obliterated. I held the others back out of the range of the destroyers. He could take the buildings on my coast, but if he wanted to advance so much as an inch into my base he was going to have to earn it.
So everything on my coast fell. Enough power plants to take down my power, a war factory, a refinery and some cursory damage was inflicted upon my battle lab. But unbeknownst to the both of us my subs had arrived and were taking potshots on his shipyard. His destroyer fleet was also sinking at an increasingly faster rate and my defending subs got more and more brazen in their attacks on the destroyers, sinking 3 and retreating, then sinking 5, and then finally attacking until there were none left. While the destroyers put up their costly fight against the subs, a response team was sent to the landed troops that found themselves without naval support. As soon as they came under fire I retreated the response team to a larger force. His armor followed blindly into the trap and were quickly subdued. The GI’s on the beach were now left alone. A petty force of dogs and conscripts were sent to deal with them.
Drunk enough to kick your ass…
I was getting pretty tired of having sneaky monopoly men running around the motherland all the while holing up in their own home country. As long as these scum were alive, the proletariat could never be emancipated. So now was the time for my glorious ascension of the tech tree. A cloning vat was placed, so now for every unit I built out of the barracks had an exact replica pop out of the cloning vat. A psychic beacon was placed in my base, by my airport, as well as by my main derricks line. Any time he ordered a unit to move into their sphere of influence I’d know about it. No more sneaky tricks for him! With these in place I set about claiming that last derricks line that was the fine line of no man’s land. Unfortunately for him, he wanted it too. My first wave arrived on the scene right before his did. We both sent a heavy force of infantry first, with his veteran GI’s killing many of my conscripts, but for every brave Boris that fell, many more Ivan’s charged forward to take his place. Soon his prism tanks came a long and decimated my infantry and dogs. But prism tanks can only do so much against apocalypse tanks and tesla tanks. The derricks line was mine, and I fortified it heavily, rebuilt my infantry swarms and prepared to weather the storm yet again.
Why do you never die when you’re supposed to?!
He charged my derricks line with a little bit of everything. Scratch that. A lot of everything. Lots of harriers, lots of GI’s, lots of grizzly tanks, lots of prism tanks and a smattering of chrono legionnaires. It broke like water against a dam. My troops advanced and seized his derricks line. They were reinforced and regrouped, and then they advanced on the next line. It took three waves to break through, but soon I seized that too. The eastern city was mine with no resistance. He didn’t want to concede the western city, so I reduced it to rubble. The whole time I was relying on brute force of infantry waves of conscripts, dogs, flak troopers and tesla troopers supported by Apocalypse tanks, tesla tanks, some rhino tanks and terror drones. I had him cut off from the sea because of my sub blockade. I had him cut off from resources because I had every derricks I could capture and the ones I couldn’t I destroyed. He could not leave his base because he was surrounded on all sides. All that was left was the killing blow. He gave up a good fight, and the first 3 waves from each side were completely ineffective. But the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th spelled his defeat.
Post Game Analysis
Rope-a-Dope is the shit. If you can roll with the punches, when you finally do hit them its going to hurt. But there’s a time and a place for everything. Had he been more aggressive and charged my footholds and entrenchments I would have had to stick my neck out to save them. He played a damn good game and came very close to beating me every time he attacked. A follow up attack after that chopper landed would have been crippling, and a few more aircraft carriers would have killed me with their superior range and firepower. As soon as he knocked my power out my air defenses would do nothing to stop him from hitting everything from my construction yard to my many war factories. However, no matter what, the will of the proletariat is absolute and to oppose it spells doom. So with that all said, I must retire YourButteredBiscuit and start over with a new name for reasons stated in Part One. You'll probably recognize me by my lackluster HTML and my tendency to ramble. Until then, I leave you with these parting words: Party of Lenin! Party of Stalin! Glory of Russia!
