This tactic unleashes the intensly underestimated power of the wisp. The unsuspecting fools whom we devastated with it not only lost in battle, but also in their hearts.
This tactic prays on the long dormant fear all Warcraft 3 players have to the Wisp. This battle illustrates the shear terror that swells in ones heart when faced with the untold power of the Wisp. Fear the sparkle, for when it comes, your end is near.
In order to pull off this stategy you will need atleast 2 highly skilled Night Elf players (The rush itself entails a GREAT deal of micro, be sure to concentrate fire). Starting off the build order is has follows:
Wisp 1-5 -> Mine
Que up 7 Wisps
Wisp 6 -> Tree of Life
Wisp 7 -> Moonwell
Wisp 8-11 -> Trees
Wisp (Moonwell) -> MoonWell
Rest of Wisps -> Trees
Both Purple (CeruleanSky) and Orange (Sharsnik) followed this ludicriously powerful build order. The other two players (Obviously unseasoned) did a basic 'high-tech mass'.
Their build orders took precious Peons away from the mine in order to get these high tech buildings. As you can see, our seasoned build order is MUCH more efective as it focuses entirely on gold, and the ability to pump Wisps.
Here is the start up of all four fateful players.
|
|
The noticible difference in the amount of money wasted on buildings is quite evident as Sharsnik and CeruleanSky have amassed a much larger force of battle hardened warriors than the two unsuspecting players that await their newest loss.
As the wisp armies begin to amass, teal scouts with a Demon Hunter and a lone Archer. However the Wisp Hordes have begun to mobilize. Little does the poor Demon Hunter realize that he is about to be
decended upon by atleast 48 fiercesome Wisps.
An epic battle is soon to ensue directly outside CeruleanSky's base:
|
| But wait! What's this? The poor hapless Demon Hunter has lost his morale, and his Archer cronies offer little support. Fontunately for the pathetic Hero the Wisps have turned their wrath upon a greater strategic target, Pink's main base.
Here is the last of the Wisp hordes skirting the Night Elves tiny rabble in order to unleash they're full power upon the restful Orcs:
|
|
The wisps have continued on to attack the Orcish encampment. Teal follows them in hopes of redeming himself from the previous
skirmish. As the Wisps climb the hill into Pink's base thebreadbaker shattered ego finally snaps and in utter horror he flees the game.
"thebreadbaker has left the game"
|
| Somehow Pink regains his composure and uses his combined forces to launch a sneeky and underhanded counter-attack
at CeruleanSky's base. At this point the Wisp hordes have converged upon Pink's townhall, leaving CeruleanSky's base all but helpless.
Yet within Pinks base the Wisps spread pure chaos with their all powerful 'Detonate' spell. The random expolsions of pure energy are mistakingly ignored by Pink's army as he razes CeruleanSky's Trees of Life.
Poor pink was unprepared for the surprise that awaited him after the first Tree fell, for out of CeruleanSky's mine popped 5 blood thirsty Wisps.
Pink's army falls as the Wisps unleashing their mana burning and summon owning powers:
|
| The weakened armies of Pink and Green make their way towards Sharsnik's base. The pathetic strategy to defeat
the Wisp hordes is thwarted when Sharsnik comes to the ingenious conclusion that he should remake his base within pinks. Before Pink manages to destroy Orange's base he sends as many Wisps as he can manage.
the Wisps are more intelligent than the average unit, and thus ignore the the cumbersome creeps, and continue on their way to aid in the battle raging within the Orc Village.
As Pink returns to finish off CeruleanSky's base he finally realizes the threat that awaits him within his own base, and haphazardly constructs a lone grunt to deal with the sparkling invaders.
Unfornately, for PopTartFan, as the Grunt begins his feeble assault on the Wisp batalion they reveal their previously unknown (to poor PopTart) strength. Amidist the choatic expolsions and sparkles Pink finally loses the rest of his failing heart and joins Teal in utter defeat.
Victory for the HORDES!!!... err, I mean Wisps ^^
|
| | This tactic is superior to all others. Notice the scores of the winning teams. They are noticibly lower, and yet the victory was obviously theirs.
The victory would have come much sooner if not for a few of my own hapless mistakes. For one, I should have built moon wells sooner; I had to wait to finish pumping out my Wisps because of this.
Also CeruleanSky and I should have attacked sooner, we could have won with only 24 wisps, and our opponents would not have even had their "precious" heros. But notice that even with all of
these human errors the victory was still ours. Thus proving the prefection of the Wisp rush. This being the first time I've used the strategy I've found that do to this resounding win I needn't continue to test it,
as I would surely get a bad name on B.Net for kicking so much ass. I'll just let the 100% win record of this tactic stand for itself.
