Lifetime Rating for -=1999=-: 6.7500 |  | I really hate starting ladder over on my old name. It is so risky. What if you lose your first few games and get a rating of 930. Now everyone that knows you will stop and point and laugh at you. Its like the little kid who goes, "look mommy at the ugly man with the long nose and proceeds to crack up."
Well, I get lucky and win my first two games. Both zerg vs toss. I'm no zerg fiend, but I do like the match up vs toss. That one little bastard that we call a zergling will carry you through early, mid, and late game if you let it.
Map: Lost Temple
Me: Zerg at Top starting spot
Him: Toss at left starting spot
I start off by expanding on 9/9 to my natural with gas. Now lets stop right here for a moment. The natural and my main cannot both be guarded properly during the very early game due to the natural expansion being away from the choke point to my main. I slam a pool and make an overlord, all the while building drones. He scouts me out with a probe. I fear a zlot rush so I scout with one of my drones. My drones dies at his choke to 4 Zlots.
I begin placing sunkens ASAP from my natural to extend the creep to protect my choke point and main also. I get 3 sunkens up and they are almost protecting my choke when 6 Zlots show up.
I have 12 lings that try and keep the Zlots away from my choke but the Zlots will not be denied. I hurry to throw up some sunkens at the main but its too late. I try and dance my lings around till more show up but its all in vain. More Zlots show up and I concede my main.
I'm very worried by now and really pissed that my new ladder rating is going to read nothing but LOSER!!!!!!
I throw up a couple more sunkens, a pool, and transfer my drones fom my main as the Zlots pound on the pool. I place an overlord above his nexus.
I see no defense at home but 8 or so Zlots at my base so I take this opportunity to send my 8 llings to rape his peon lie. MU HAHA revenge is sweet. The lings die but they kill all his drones first.
Feeling better now and having a surplus of minerals from the 2 bases that I had for a brief period I slam another Hatchery and expand to the right natural expansion. I see that he has expanded to his natural also.
I hit the gas at both bases ASAP. Drones, Drones, Drones. More Drones. I hit the lair at my base that he does not know about on the right. As soon as it finishes I slam a nest and a spiral. I'm beginning to feel as if I have a chance now.
Queens nest finishes and I hit the hive, mutas are produced also.
Goons show up but are driven off by lings and sunkens. I have close to 24 lings for defense with 5 sunkens around my 2 hatcherys and pool there at my only known base. At the other base i have 2 sunkens and a nest and spiral.
The hive is done and I make a greater spiral. I warp 6 mutas into guardians and proceed to the back of his main. He has 4 goons at his main but they are no match for my guardians hanging over the cliff.
He concedes with a GG and I start to breath again.
SHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!! That was a close one.
Lessons learned:
Never give in.
I was beat but I stuck with it and won.
Be deceitful.
He never saw the first muta/guardian till I was in his base.
If you cant hide your spiral and nest at a hidden base hide them with overlords.
