"Warning: There are two types of people reading this report. The first kind is already off staring blankly at my pretty pictures. The second are the ones reading this warning because none of the pictures are loading. The reason for this is one of the following: Bill Gates is the devil; Netscape Navigator was programmed by a bunch of monkeys; a butterfly flapped its wings in Hong Kong (or one of its near by suburbs); you are actually trying to download this through a phone line (be serious people); or Bill Gates is the devil."

The Revolution: Part 1

The sounds of war die away…and there is silence…

Chapter 1: The Departure

After the defeat of the demons and the parting of the ways, the hardy humans, orcs, high elves, and a scattering of Kaldorei returned to the shattered homeland. They found the towns burned, the farms razed, and the people gone. All the people gone… The very few survivors had hid in rural caves, or had gone to live with the dwarves in Khaz Modan. Only the mountain kingdom was safe from the undead ravages. The weary people began the awesome task of the rebuilding.

8 years later…

She gazed out onto the sparkling city. It was beautiful. Not as it had been before the Reign, but very close. Graceful, airy, turrets rose for hundreds of feet into the early morning sky. The city began to wake. Kendra looked out to her city and smiled. It had not been easy repairing the city. Oh no, far from it. Much of what had been learned before the Reign was lost…some of it for all time. But Dalaran had been brought back. The Proudmoores had supervised the construction, and the Disciples of Silvermoon had helped as well. But Silvermoon was a memory, Dalaran was real once again. Kendra Proudmoore had been only a child when her grandma, Jaina, had passed away. Kendra didn’t remember much of her grandmother, except that she was very beautiful, and always did things that were mystifying. Kendra had been lost in thought for over half an hour. She turned away from the enchanted city and stepped back into her room, off of the balcony. She noticed a servant had thoughtfully brought in some breakfast. She began to eat. She was halfway through her meal when a man in full armor walked through her door. She rose and stared at the figure. Then she laughed. “Aurrius why aren’t you training the recruits?” The Paladin grinned, and replied, “Milady the recruits are hopeless, but that’s not why I am here.” His voice took on a darker tone and the smile vanished. “Reports have come in that an orc uprising recently attacked the small town of Twill. Twill is a tiny village of elves and humans bout 4 miles east of here. The only survivors were a few swift elves that managed to get away. They were too dazed to release any details as of yet.” Kendra was surprised. Why the hell would the orcs break the Pact of Humanity? We gave the greenies equal rights didn’t we? She didn’t show any of the shock or perplexity show on her face. A Queen and a Magician have to keep a straight face, all the time. She sighed and said to her loyal guard, “Aurrius continue training the recruits, tend to the refugees, and send the word to our damn allies. This is big.” Kendra didn’t bother to finish her breakfast, she waved at it and mumbled something. It disappeared. She was worried. After so many years of peace why would the orcs do this?
