I will name each player by (color)Race, for example... I was teal Terran, so I would be (T)Terr. I forgot everyone's names, so this is the best I can do.

Well, I just got home from work. My childhood friend, -=Darth~Maul=- (yeah, yeah, I know... we're tacky) and I were just ITCHING to play some BW. Neither one of us is usually available to play on weekends, so Monday's are pretty hectic.

We went to our favorite clan channel (we don't belong to any clans, we just love harassing the people in them), and looked for some opponents. We joined a game, and it turned out to be a 2v2v2. This was my first time playing a multi-team game, so I was a bit edgy.

The races turned out to be:
Me: Terran - Partner: Toss
Red: Zerg - Yellow: Terran
Orng: Toss - Blue: Toss
The map: Lost Temple

I drew the 2 0'clock position while my partner got high noon. Being that I was scared shitless of getting double or triple-teamed early, I chose to go with a TIGHT base alignment. I set up a bunker touching my CC with a depot on each side of it, and my rax in front.

My partner dutily sent out his 7th probe to scout, and quickly found (R)Zerg at the 5 o'clock spot. Unbeknownst to him, we had a spy at the corner of his base, watching his every move. No more than 8 minutes into the game, we hear some fire, then the cries that usually follow. Sure enough
, (R)Zerg had just been bitched. (B)Toss had snuck above a ledge behind the base and planted about 6 cannons. My partner and I knew this was our signal to charge red hard. I marched 6 marines, 2 bats, and 2 tanks over to the north choke area of his base, while my partner gave me 5 or 6 cannons at home to protect me. I also requested an observer which my partner was more than happy to provide. With my tanks sieged I sent in my troops. The combination of blue cannons and teal infantry quickly transformed the red base into a red pool of blood. One down, five to go.

During my attack, my partner amassed a sizeable army. I took the opportunity to make two additional CC's, and a HUGE supply of depots (forgive the pun). Without any life whatsoever, I decided since blue went offensive so early, he was our prime target. My partner had also found him with that scouting probe, (B)Toss was at 8 o'clock. This time I had an additional drop ship, so I chose to fly my way there, which actually wasn't much faster. After a comsat, I realized his mineral patch was naked from defenses in the backside. My partner decided we should go for the kill, so he send in 8 zealots, 4 goons, and 2 reavers with some templar in the back.... only to ditract our blue opponent. It worked like a charm, I dropped in the backfield, and there was nothing there to fight me back. (B)Toss tried to make his way back to me, but the tanks obliterated anything that came in our direction, and my drug-infested (stimmed) marines dispatched anything that survived the tank blasts. We thought this was the end of (B)Toss, since he had not expanded to his gimmes, but it was far from over.

At this point I had floated my two additional CC's to nearby expansions, and was flying high with money. Since I had made a shitload of depots, I decided to go for 4 Starports, 2 Factories, and just nail out some Battlecruisers, tanks and Science Vessels. My partner went with the perfect complimentary force of scouts, zealots, temps, and just 4 or 5 carriers with an arbitor. When I reached 8 BCs, which were fully upped, I lifted up my facility to build a silo. While we went for our next victim, I would build some nukes and ghosts.

(Y)Terran was next. We still were not sure of the teams here, because in all the confusion, we had not seen anyone help his partner out. Yellow was given the 6 o'clock area, so we lined up our troops outside of his base on opposite sides. I found that on my side he had put 9 or 10 depots, withsome turrets. We agreed I would attack first, since this was so congested, he could not have troops here. I yamatoed his two turrets, then dropped 6 tanks on a ledge, with my BCs one or two matrices in front, picking oncoming units off.

This is where it got interesting. We quickly saw (O)Toss and (B)Toss goons arrive. "Oh man, Yellow is so dead, one of those colors is his partner, the other not." Wrong. All the fire was concentrated on us, no friendly fire between any of them. They had opted to join forced against the team of Darths (us, keep up with the story). It was now a 3v2, so I brought in both SVs and Emped each corner of their troops. Shift-clicking my concentrated fire, I made quick work of the goons, but managed to EMP my yamato off two BCs in the process. My partner immiediately went for the other side, and this was defintely it for (Y)Terran. (O)Toss came and killed off my partner's arbitos and carriers with scouts, so I took that as a cue to retreat. Valks chased me off, and left all my BCs in yellow/red.

Now with 2 nukes in the waiting, I lifted the facility again and went for some more BCs. I foolishly sent my ghosts to nuke, walking from my base. All 4 of my ghosts died to mass mines in the center of the map. All 4 were sent individually, mind you.

Now we would go for (O)Toss, which was definitely the strongest of our foes. He was very close to (B)Toss, at 9 o'clock with an expansion or two. This time I elected to send my repaired BCs in with my new ones, 12 in all, and 6 more tanks with 8 goliaths. The dual Science Vessels trailed my BCs. We set up the same way again, opposite sides. This time my partner attacked first, with zealots, goons and temps. 3 reavers did massive damage to his force, so I dropped my tanks and sieged them, with goliaths next to them on hold. I EMPed the area, twice, but somehow he still had psi-storms for my guys to eat. that quickly ended my attack, as many sairs came in my direction, and dwebbed the goliaths that had survived on the edges, while chasing away my now once again yellow BCs.

Hmm, not good. We were fought off by one guy, with minimal help from (B)Toss.

I hard-headedly went for the same attack, but this time with 2 ghosts handy. I dropped my 6 tanks, had 12 refurbished BCs, and 8 goliaths, 2 SVs. Now we decided to go all out. We both charged frmo the same area, expecting (O)Toss to split his troops, in anticipation of our opposite attacks. I only dropped my ghosts, and send two nukes flying toward close targets. He found my boys, but the protection I had around them was too much. Any observers were shot down, so both nukes landed right after an EMP blast. Much carnage. Our boys totally ravaged the area, but (O)Toss did not go down easy. I was left with no tanks, no gols and only 4 BC's left, with one SV. My partner was also attacked by all three of them during this fight, which meant the end of his base. both of us thought it would be smart to just go forth with offense, and let his base go down. The end of our opponents was probably near anyway.

Now with all 3 of our enemies having lost their mains, we knew we had time to build up with what we had left, but opted to go strike quickly, with minimal troops. We kept finding their bases, and promtply eliminated each one, since they were small, and just defensive forts at this point. This went on for about 10 minutes before GG's were given out. I think it only fair to mention that both my expansions went down, so it was not offense all the time, but pretty much most of the time.

It was truly an enjoyable game for me, and a learning experience, as most games are. My partner and I thought we had an advantage, since we are a team, but it turns out the other guys knew each other, so we were on equal ground.

Observations:
1. Attacking someone who was already under atack early, was definitely a smart move. We eliminated one guy, and in essence, the whole team. He would definitely not attack on his own.

2. Using decoys, and attacking from opposite sides definitely worked to our advantage. Most of the time we were met by equal-strength opposition, but being spread out gave us the edge. Too much for one man and his mouse to handle.

3. Mining the map like (Y)Terran did was very clever. He saw just about everything. Had his (R)Zerg partner survived, it might have played a larger role in the game.

4. Floating CC's early secured expansions for me and gave me the early advantage in resources. 800 minerals gambled early, but immeasurable dividends were paid in return.

Please let me know what you thought of my 10 page introductory battle report. Constructive criticism is a terrible thing to waste.
