Yes, as a follow up to the last epic battle between these two legends, I have decided to write a battle report on the epic rematch! Indeed, after his haunting loss on ‘Lost Temple’, Xaanix challenged Zileas to a rematch, on a different map. The map chosen was another oldie, but still a good one, ‘Dire Straits’. It is an island map, but rather difficult to describe, so here’s a minimap.

Zileas warped in a blue Nexus and his first four robotic Probes in the southwest main island, with his opponent, Xaanix, warping in his own, purple Nexus and Probes in the northeast island. (Yes, both players, as usual, chose their best race, Protoss.)
The build orders were :
ZILEAS
8 Pylon
11 Assimilator
11 Gateway
14 Cybernetics Core
18 Pylon
20 Robotics Facility
22 Robotics Facility
XAANIX
8 Pylon
11 Assimilator
11 Gateway
14 Cybernetics Core
18 Robotics Facility
20 Pylon
23 Forge
As you may have noticed, both of the players had nearly the exact same build order at the beginning of the game. They only deterred when Xaanix trained some early Zealots to protect from a drop later, and when Zileas chose to add a second Pylon before his Robotics Facility and then added another before his Forge.
Zileas, after warping in his second Robotics Facility, also warped in the whole Robotic tech tree. He got both an Observatory and a Robotics Support Bay, starting the Observer speed upgrade and the Maximum Scarab Capacity upgrade as soon as the respective buildings were warped in. Xaanix also gets the Robotic tech, leaving out the observers for now. As soon as he had a Shuttle and a Reaver, he sent them, along with a Dragoon, to find Zileas.
As the deadly Reaver drop was getting nearer, Zileas also chose to find his opponent, with his first Observer. He also loaded a Reaver into a Shuttle, and set it to follow the scouting Observer, when Zileas’ Observer and Xaanix’s Reaver/goon drop met, over the water between the two bottom mains. Now that he knew Xaanix’s attention was elsewhere, he sent a Probe to the expansion island that is northeast of his main base. Xaanix, in the same frame of mind, began an expansion of his own on the island south of his main, on the middle-right side of the map.
Minimap Update :
Xaanix, playing it safe, unloaded his Reaver near the mineral line, firing off a single Scarab before Zileas, too, unloaded his Reaver. Knowing that Zileas’ Reaver micro greatly outmatched his own, Xaanix chose to reload and run. The shuttle was seen out by two goons. On the way home from the failed drop, the Shuttle happened upon the small expansion Zileas had on the neighboring island. It unloaded, killed the Probe, and forced Zileas to cancel the Nexus before flying back to the northeast base, while, unbeknownst to the purple Executor, an enemy Shuttle followed, carrying a Reaver and a Dragoon.
The contents of the Shuttle spill out near Xaanix’s lightly defended mineral line. While two unsuspecting Zealots are vaporized, three Dragoons hurry to quell the threat. They fall to Scarab fire, however, as they are all in a tight group. The Reaver continues on it’s way to the mineral line, destroying a defending cannon and four Probes before being ripped apart by the Disruptor fire of the four new goons. Zileas’ Shuttle is then shot down, and his remaining Dragoon heads for the mineral line, but is stopped by yet more of Xaanix’s own Dragoons. After the skirmish was over, Zileas had lost his Shuttle, Reaver, and Dragoon. Xaanix had lost two Zealots, three Dragoons, a Photon Cannon and four Probes.
Zileas, knowing that he would soon be needing an expansion, as his main was fast mining out, decided to send another Probe to the same island as before, this time warping in Pylons and Cannons before his Nexus. He then Shuttle maynarded some Probes from his main.
Xaanix, fearing that Zileas would quickly dominate the skies, as he did in the first game, with carriers, began the warp rift for a Stargate, planning on amassing a small fleet to perform hit and run strikes and to protect Shuttles en route to a drop point. Instead of getting the newer, Brood War Corsairs, he begins to warp in good old vanilla Scouts. Zileas also techs again, but not the way Xaanix expects. Instead, he gets a Citadel of Adun followed by a Templar Archives. Psionic Storm was researched as soon as possible while Zealot Leg Enhancements were forgotten.
Zileas sends another Reaver/Dragoon drop, discovering the expansion on the middle-right island along the way. He opts however, to continue on to the main, as several Cannons are fast nearing completion. There are six Dragoons waiting for it, however, and the Shuttle is chased away without unloading it’s expensive cargo. It is later hunted down and destroyed by Scouts.
Back home, Zileas shows the macro that he is famous for, pumping out seven Reavers with Shuttles to match. After placing a High Templar in each of his mineral lines, he left two Reavers in his main base, and loaded the others up into Shuttles. Xaanix pumps out several units also, both Dragoons and Scouts. He also expands again, this time to the island west of his main, between the top two main bases. He immediately defends it with five cannons. Two of Zileas’ Shuttles, with four behemoth Reavers in their hulls, set off once again for Xaanix’s base.
Unfortunately, on the way to Xaanix’s main, the Shuttles passed over the new expansion, upon which the cannons had just finished warping. One of the Shuttles was blow out of the sky before Zileas knew what was happening. He quickly unloaded the other two Reavers, which managed to take two cannons with them before being destroyed by Photon Cannons.
By now, Xaanix is feeling pretty confident, knowing that he just sent Zileas back 1200 minerals and 800 gas, losing only 300 minerals worth of Cannons. He adds a couple more Scouts to his ever-growing fleet, which has become quite impressive, with eight of the sleek fighters. He decides that now is the time to strike, and loads up eight Dragoons into four Shuttles. They, accompanied by the Scout victory fleet, begin the flight to Zileas’ base. Zileas, seeming to sense the impending attack, chooses to expand to the southeast main.
Minimap Update :
Xaanix’s intimidating fleet stops just outside of cannon range. Noticing a hole in the Cannon defenses, the Shuttles unload on the east side of the island, unmolested. The Scouts go in quickly, for a small hit and run. Unfortunately for Xaanix, the Cannons quickly wore down the shields on the fighters, and as they flew back away, two well placed storms from the Templar in the mineral line made all but two of them explode. It was a crushing loss for Xaanix, and one that would not go unanswered. As the two remaining Scouts flew home, the Dragoons began to destroy the island’s only Gateway, carefully staying out of Cannon range. The Assimilator, also out of Cannon range, fell soon after. The Dragoons, apparently deciding to wait for reinforcements before tackling the three Cannons, sat at the east end of the base. Zileas, seeing his chance, dropped two Reavers unnoticed in the island’s mneral line, and as soon as the Templar stationed there regained enough power, a Psionic Storm was cast over the Dragoons. The goons, not being on hold position, were lured right into the deadly fire of Reaver scarabs and Cannons. The result was a blue soaked ground littering the once again safe island.
With his new expansion running, Zileas felt it was time for himself to make a move. He created a Stargate, and, subsequently, two Scouts and two Corsairs. He began creating goons to protect his island from attack while he prepared, as well. As soon as his small fleet was ready, it was sent with three Shuttles and an Observer north, to the northwest main. Contained within the Shuttles were four Reavers along with two Templar, one Dark, the other High. (Heh)
An Observer commanded by Xaanix was already watching the northwest island, and was able to relay the information of an impending drop back to its Commander before being blown away by the Corsairs and Scouts. Dragoons were quickly move into position, protecting the vital tech buildings from the coming attack. The Reavers, however, coupled with a couple of psi storms, completely raped the defending Dragoons. Zealots were dealt with just as quickly, and soon the base was in flames. A last ditch attempt by three of Xaanix’s Scouts was foiled by the waiting air units commanded by Zileas. Xannix once again conceded to Zileas, as his Observatory, Robotics Facility, and Nexus all began to burn.

WINNER : ZILEAS
Lessons Learned
1. Drops obviously own on island maps
2. Reavers rape almost everything
3. Always protect expansions well
4. Always keep up your macro(After watching this replay,
I tried to macro 7 Reavers without getting killed. I failed)
