A decent BR! (I think)

Introduction:

Hey again. I'm back with an all new BR. Although I'm sure you'd loooovvvveeee to know more about me, I'll skip that part and go strait to the game. gogogo~

The game:

This is another 1 versus 1 on, you guessed it, The Lost Temple. It's between Proloss-X17 and duDe[TsK]. So without further ado (how the hell do we write that?), I present to you my second battle report.

Like you guys need this...

Early Game:

Proloss-X17:Proloss knows what he's doing. He chooses protoss for this game, warping in at 9 o'clock.

His build order is as follows:

Pylon at 8
Gateway at 9 (he sends the probe scouting clock-wise)
Another gateway at 11
Pylon at 15

duDe[TsK]: duDe is smart, real smart, he picked zerg ^_^. His Build order goes a little like this:

Overlord at 9
Extractor trick
12 hatchery at the top of his ramp
spawning pool at 11
extractor at 14

First blood

What were you expecting, something funny?Proloss shows his hatred towards duDe right away, attacking him with his first zealot and his scouting probe. duDe isn't too happy about it though, sending 6 zerglings right at him while frantically morphing a sunken colony. Unfortunetly for our zerg player, the zerglings die to the zealot/probe combo and the zealot runs off before the sunken colony is done. Back at the protoss main, an assimilator can be seen while a cybernetics core is warping in. At the zerg main, a hatchery has begun morphing into a lair. Both players want bigger, tougher and cooler units.

Mid-Game:

Both our players decide to expand to their natural. Proloss and duDe[TsK] expand at 4:32 and 4:52 minutes into the game respectively.

Gogogo~Hurry up, hurry up!

A few seconds later, Proloss-X17 builds 2 cannons at his natural expansion while duDe's tech choice becomes apparent... Mutas!

duDe currently has 18 zerglings in front of Proloss' natural, while our protoss player has 7 zealots, 2 cannons and a third one warping in.

duDe decides to attack Proloss but turns around as soon as he sees the zealots. Way to go duDe!

Back at his main, Proloss' tech choice starts to show as a citadel of adun warps in, followed by a templar archives. He also fortifies his mineral line with 2 photon cannons.

duDe decides it's time to expo again, building a hatchery at the 3 o'clock main. He also starts a hydralisk den back home.

Quick, before the goons get here!Out of the sky, what do I see? Big flying shrimps! (mutas :P)

Yep ladies and gentlemen, duDe finally has mutas and he decides to show them off as he attacks protoss executor's natural. 2 cannons are destroyed while the probes flee, letting the mutalisks pound on the soon to be battered nexus.

What's going on at Proloss' base you ask? This is what's going on:

He currently has 3 gateways with 1 more warping in.
He is building 1 dark templar.
2 dragoons are warping in with 2 high templars waiting their turn.
The dragoon range upgrade just finished.
The +1 ground weapons upgrade is almost done.
And the speed zealot upgrade is currently under way.
Not bad huh?

duDe, on the other hand, is currently upgrading hydralisk speed.
And is producing mass hydras (well, sort of).

Back to the game... Those mutas keep attacking the defenseless nexus until they get chased by dragoons. duDe[TsK] carefully hides them at the natural cliff.

Like they stand a chance...A few seconds later, he takes them right trough the natural and strait for the main, hoping to take out a few probes. He meets up with a cannon, which is quickly disposed of(he currently has 7 mutas). All looks good until an archon arrives (remember those 2 high templars?=D) and chases them away with very little trouble since he's big and strong and cool lookin'.

The DT that couldProloss decides to have a little fun of his own and sneeks a dark templar past duDe's detection and right into his natural expansion. He picks off almost all the drones before being killed by 4 hydralisks.

Recap

11 minutes into the game

Lost? Don't worry, here's where both players currently are:

Proloss-X17:
He is currently researching storm.
He has 5 dragoons, 2 archons, 8 zealots and 1 high templar.
He currently has 4 gateways with cannons here and there.

duDe[TsK]:
duDe has started morphing a queens nest, so we can expect big bad hive tech units.=)
He is getting his 3 o'clock main online and is fortifying it with sunken colonies.
He is currently upgrading hydralisk range.
He currently has 2 groups of hydras (1 of which is in front of Proloss' mineral only), 1 group and a half of zerglings (also in front of Proloss' mineral only) and he also has 5 mutalisks on Proloss' natural ledge.

Back to the game, gogogo~

Ok ok, back to the action. So, like I said, duDe[TsK] currently has hydralisks and zerglings close to Proloss' mineral only. Proloss' is getting pretty tired of having them there, so he decides to bust out...

Poor zergy

Things go bad for duDe as he tries to flank Proloss with his zerglings but comes in a little too far.

Come back here lings!

storm is thxStorms start to fly here and there... needless to say the hydras are taken care of.
Ok ok, enough rape for today

Back home, Proloss is warping 3 more gateways and a robotics facility, which is followed by an observatory. At the 13 minute mark, Proloss takes his mineral only while duDe starts morphing his lair into a hive and sunkens up a little in fear of getting slapped around.

a one way ticket back to AiurProloss decides to send a contingent of 4 zealots to the 3 main, looking to stir up some trouble. They arrive at the 3 o'clock main only to meet up with 2 hydralisks and 2 sunken colonies which gadly send them back to Aiur.

At the same time, Proloss starts mobilizing his troops towards duDe's main base. A battle insues at the 12 o'clock choke, many deaths, blah blah...

toss pimp squadGL hydras

Hehe, seriously though, a nice little skirmish ensues between the protoss executor and the zerg cerebrate, who uses his home base advantage to push back Proloss despite that damn storm.

Sunks>j00!~Pop, goes the aaaaarrchon

gj duDe!

You can always count on hydras! Pissed off by his recent defeat, Proloss sends 5 zealots to the 3 o'clock main, hoping to take it out nice and quick. They are able to destroy what ever defense duDe has but can't do much damage before duDe[TsK] sends some hydralisks to squelch the threat. He also starts morphing his spire into a greater spire.

Our protoss competitor sends another group of 5 zealots and 1 high templar to the 3 o'clock main, hoping to finally finish it off. Once they get up the ramp, they meet up with 9 hydralisks who gently greet them. duDe moves his hydralisks into an arc while Proloss attacks whatever he can, waiting for his high templar to arrive... BAM! Storm leaves its mark and duDe only has 3 hydralisks left in the end.raped by storm...again

doesn't look too good for those zealotsWhile all this is happening, another confrontation takes place close to the 3 o'clock mineral only. 9 zealots and a high templar fight off a group of 12 hydralisks. Things are looking good for duDe since Proloss' zealots arrive in small groups, giving him an easy time until a high templar decides it's time for him to have a say in this. Proloss sets up a storm right over those pesky hydralisks, effectively killing most of them. duDe runs away with 3 hydralisks left.

Knowing that the game will be his if duDe loses his 3 o'clock expansion, Proloss sends yet another contingent of 7 zealots and a high templar to the 3 o'clock main. They meet up with 4 hydralisks at the top of the ramp, which are disposed of with relative ease.

duDe sends reinforcement hydralisks to the 3 o'clock main, hoping to save it before it's too late, but is kept back by a group of zealots, dragoons and high templars right besides the 3 o'clock mineral only. Few hydralisks survive...

storm is kewl

Although a good number of zealots make it up the 3 o'clock ramp alive, they aren't enough to destroy the expansion as freshly morphed hydralisks take them out with the help of 2 sunken colonies. Back at the 12 o'clock main, a greater spire has just finished morphing and duDe wastes no time before he morphs his 5 mutalisks (over Proloss' ledge) into guardians and starts morphing an ultralisk cavern.

I think he's pissedOk, enough is enough, Proloss decides that it's time for him to take out the 3 o'clock main once and for all. He mobilizes whatever units he has close to the 3 o'clock mineral only and sends them strait towards the expansion.

They go up the ramp and strait into the heart of the mining operation, taking out anything that's slimy. duDe tries to stop them with his main force of hydralisks, but they are almost all annihilated by a few zealots holding the ramp and a high templar storming it! Needless to say, the expansion is finally taken out.

p433r teh dr0n35 0f d00mroflrofl x2

During the attack, duDe's now finished guardians were feeling ready for some action, wasting no time before they start pounding on Proloss' mineral only. They take out a few things here and there before some dragoons arrive. The dragoons battle it out with the guardians, who seem pretty damn sure of themselves, having the cliff advantage and all. Unfortunatly for duDe, things start looking bad as more dragoons arrive on the scene, accompanied by a high templar who is anxious to fool around with the weather. 1 storm and a few photon blasts are all that it takes to send these guardians back where they came from...

Recap

20 minutes into the game

Time for another good ol' recap:

Proloss-X17:
Proloss is currently at 105 supply.
He has just expanded to the 6 o'clock main and is maynarding probes to that location.
his upgrades are 0/0/2 and his +3 attack upgrade is almost done.
He has 1 group of zealots, half a group of dragoons and a few high templars.

duDe[TsK]:
Things don't look good for duDe. He has 6 ultralisks with a few hydralisks and that's about it.
His upgrades are at 0/0.

Late Game:

'Without their upgrades, ultras are 4 ton sacks of shit'A small stalemate occurs... A few seconds later, duDe tries to break out with 7 ultralisks and a few hydralisks. They fall upon 3 dragoons, 2 zealots and 2 high templars who are holding watch close to the 3 o'clock mineral only. A small skirmish ensues with storms flying everywhere. Nevertheless, duDe wins the battle with ease, continuing his road towards the 9 o'clock mineral only. Arriving at the mineral only, duDe finds that Proloss has prepared a blockade just for him. It seems that ultralisks have trouble against cannons blocked off by zealots, dragoons and probes... So duDe runs off.

he who learns to run away, lives to fight another day!

After successfully pushing back those ultralisks (and quite easily might I add), Proloss decides that it's time to end this once and for all. He moves towards duDe's main with a proud look on his face, knowing that this will be the end of the zerg menace. He arrives at the 12 o'clock choke, sits silently and waits... Suddenly, duDe comes back out with another group of ultralisks accompanied by hydralisks, but his attempt proves futile. His units are no match for the protoss warriors, so he leaves with a "gg".
