From The Jabberwocky

Hey. This is my first battle report, so I started it out with a line from a poem cause that gets 10’s, right? Right?

Background of game: I was bored one day on the U.S. East server when I found a good game: 1v1v1join! Was the name. I joined up and saw my opponents there already, which I will call Punk and Money Mapper. I randomed but punk chose terran and Money chose protoss. I got my best race, zerg, so this looked to be a fun game. The battle was to take place on the 8 player “New Gettysburg Spaceport,” a map I wasn’t familiar with, but that would just add to the fun.

Build orders: I cloned my drones quickly and had an order of 9: extractor trick, 10: overlord, 10: Pool, 11: 2 creep colonies (morphed to sunken), 13: extractor, 16: second hatch. I started out near the top of the screen.
Punk had a build of 8: depot, 11: rax, 12: rax, 13: refinery, 14: depot, 19: factory
He scouted with an scv that found my base and got killed by my freshly morphed sunkens, and starts building up tanks/rines. He starts near the middle.
Now Money Mapper went with a simple build of 7: pylon, 8: gate, (ordering 5 zeals as soon as possible) and 16: forge. He starts near the bottom.

Early game: Punk gets Annoyed

As soon as my pool was finished, I morphed 6 lings and sent them scouting. Pretty soon they found Money's base, and found 5 zeals waiting for them. In the first encounter, one zergling was killed by zealots, but the others ran past. They scouted Money (who at this point had 2 pylons, a gate, and a morphing forge), caused some havoc in his mineral line by killing a probe or two and ran out of his base with half their number remaining. I left one of the zerglings to stay and watch for possible attacks. WHile this small skirimish was going on, Punk had about 7 marines and was building a factory.
Nothing happened for a while with everyone building up. I got a hydra den and and another hatchery and was scouting around for an expo, while Punk is making another factory and pumping tanks/rines. Money Mapper sends out a scouting party of 5 zealots past my guarding zergling, who I save because I was watching the screen at the moment. The zergling runs into Money's base and finds more zeals, another gateway, and a morphing assimilator/cannon.
Now punk tries to attack my main, but a drone I was sending to a newly discovered expansion site finds the attack. I rally my army and scare Punk back to his base. I then send a small detachment of 5 hydras and 12 zerglings to follow the attack from afar and find Punks base. I park outside a fairly undefended ramp, holding the high ground.
Just as Punk's army gets back, Money's scouting party finds the other entrance to Punk's main and starts ravaging some nearby buildings. The zealots destroy two barracks and hurt a factory down to the red, but an scv fixes it back up. The zealots are then destroyed without much problem. At this point a Lair is morphing at my main, and a hatchery right above Punk is morphing.
At this point I take a risk and send in my small containment army to try to scout out Punk and do some damage. However, I find 4 sieged tanks and about 14 rines, and retreat back to high ground losing about half the army but destroying a supply depot. After seeing the tanks, I decide to get some mutalisk support and begin morphing a spire.
Money Mapper sends in another 3 zealots who manage to scratch the paint of one of his tanks ( owch ) before being annihilated.

End of Early game stats:

Me: I have expanded to a second mineral/gas spot and have a total of 3 hatcheries and a small ground army. My spire is almost complete. Other tech buildings I have are Pool, Hydra Den and one evolution chamber. My base hasn't been attacked yet.
Punk: He has taken the brunt of my scouting attacks and Money's suicidal zealot attacks but is holding pretty well. He has about 6 tanks and 2 control groups of marines with 2 factories, a rebuilt barracks, engineering bay, academy, and is beggining to build 2 starports. No expansions.
Money: His main role in the early game was to annoy Money a little and complain about the lack of extra resources in the starting position :). He has 2 gateways and 2 cybernetics cores and is warping in 2 stargates. I wonder what direction his tech is going...

Middle Game: Punk gets double-teamed

At the 11 minute mark my first mutas hatch after my spire finally finishes, and I wing the 6 worm-spitting watchacallits over to my containment on Punk's base. I wing around behind his main defenses and straight into his mineral line, where I kill 5 scvs and run away as his marine core approaches, but not before a muta gets badly wounded. I wing out the direction of Money's base, also intending to annoy him, but I run into a small group of 6 scouts with 1/1/1 upgrades.. What are they doing here? I manage to run my mutas away only losing one muta and forcing his scouts to go through the complicated procedure of recharging shields. I.E. Push button, wait, wait, wait... after my mutas escape Punk's new starports finish and each starts making a control tower, followed by dropships.

As soon as my mutas get back to the containment point, I decide I have to attack with my combined forces. I needed my ground troops to draw the fire of the marines so that the Mutalisks could take out the tanks and I could march in playing "The Emperor Returns" (The return of the Jedi) on my clarinet and marching to victory at the same time. Unfortunately, I overlook one thing: I need about double the mutas I have in order to pull this stunt off. But I march off anyway, with my entire ground army being owned by combined tank/marine fire, and my mutas only destroying one tank (I did, however, save 3 mutas). In my eyes, the attack is a complete failure, but I also have killed about 3/4 of Punk's marines, an important point...

When my mutas wing back to base, Punk unsieges his tanks and brings them up to my now unmanned containment point, where he sieges his tanks and begins to lay waste to my new expo directly above it. It might've worked, except at that time 6 1/1/1 scouts come flying in from below his base and destroy his mineral line. The 14 marines Punk still has left after my attack mightve taken care of the threat, except due to Punk's incredible microing skills (send one in at a time) the scouts dont even get hurt past their shields. The scouts continue to rampage through his base, with double Stargates pumping out more. Punk is pretty much out of the game at this point, but he manages to run an scv away and start an expo, as well as lifting a rax and 2 stargates off safely.

However, Punk still has his 6 tanks, and is destroying my expo, savoring sweet... Victory?... until my newly hatched wing of 6 mutas fly in and spoil his party. He unsieges his tanks...
... and runs back into his base, where scouts are destroying everything. Seeing this new threat, I turn back, and start building up mutas/hydras.

End game: Punk happy, Money Mappers suck

Now that Punk was pretty much out of the game, it was time to deal with the Money Menace. I morph 3 more mutas and 6 hydras in my hatcheries, and start another one at a newly discovered expansion site above and to the right of Punk's corpse. As soon as i have 9 mutas and 10 hydras, I lay my trap. I set seven 0/1 hydras in a semi-circle at my old containment point. The plan is to pull the scouts (now numbering 10) with the bait(consisting of 3 hydras and 9 mutas) into the semi-circle. The hydras would all shoot at once, and with more numbers and splash damage I was sure the scouts would die fast. With everything in place, I send in the bait ( the scouts were still finishing off the last of his base) and pull them into the semi circle. It works perfectly! All the scouts die and I lose one or two mutalisks.

As soon as the scouts are finished, I decide to finish the Plan from the Middle Game: I.E. Harrasing Money with mutas. I build up until my total number is 12 (this only take about one minute) and fly off to Money's base.

When I get there I am surprised. He has NO defense at all except 3 cannons and 2 scouts. He has a fleet beacon and (I assume[and verify on replay]) he is making carriers. However, 3 cannons and 2 scouts dont own 12 mutas, especially when the mutas take on 1 cannon at a time. The mutalisks ravage through Money's base, and with a graceful "Fuck you Bitch!" he leaves the game.

Now for the matter of Punk. I cackle gleefully as I exchange last communications with him- and ally. It was unfair for him because he had been double teamed most of the game and I liked his playing style. We ally up... and the game is finally over!

Well, that took a while, especially since my first writing of this report got erased when I clicked the delete button (cleverly disguised as the "preview report" button). Try and fix that bug please! Again, Please post comments on how to improve and how to post pictures. For those of you who don't think this game happened, replay will be posted as "Tsear BR1". Thank you, have a nice day.
