Slightly Altered Starcraft
TankEatingSCV
VS.
[MM]Naakaloh

Welcome to the first ever TankEatingSCV report! The game is a tvz matchup between my friend [MM]Naakaloh and me, with the mod we made that alters some of the statistics of the game for more interesting play. We are currently testing and balancing this mod. Following are the changes of interest for this game.

Terran: All upgrades and researched capabilites now cost half the price in vespene gas, minerals, and time.
All terran buildings now have exactly twice their previous amount of hit points.
Zerg: Zerg drones now require no overlord control. All mutation buildings (Sunken Colony, Spore Colony, Lair, Hive, Greater Spire) are free of gas and mineral cost.
Hatcheries now cost only 200 minerals and have 800 hit points.

With those changes in mind for the terran and zerg races, the primary purpose of this game is to measure the now significantly faster zergling rush against the bigger, badder bunkers, so I will be terran and [MM]Naakaloh is zerg. Also the quick expansion capability is now increased for the zerg as well as the ability to defend them with sunken colonies.

The map is blood bath and I am in the southwest position with my new sparkling yellow command center. Meanwhile [MM]Naakaloh has a freshly spawned blood-red hatchery in the northeast. He abandoned the agreement of the fastest zergling rush he could do, and went 9-pool, 6 lings, 2 hatches shortly after that at the other starting positions. That could be a potent build order with this mod! Meanwhile, I go with a standard 8 depot 10 rax and bunker asap after that.

Unfortunately, my plans were interrupted as I see six zerglings killing my marine and clawing away at my new barracks before I can finish my bunker. Thinking the game is over and the mod should be rebalanced, I frantically send all my scvs to engage the zerglings while queing up two marines.

I must have forgotten how much scvs own lings. My approximately twelve scvs slice the zerglings appart with their bright blue fusion cutters losing five of their number. In addition, I sneaked one of my scvs to go finish the bunker which had been delayed by death of the scv who was building it.

This is a great comeback and all, of course, but my economy is still damaged and my defense is meager. After sending all my scvs back to mining and loading four marines into my new bunker, [MM]Naakaloh decided it was time for a follow-up. Fortunately, I had two scvs ready to repair and my four marines quickly sent those zerglings to whatever bad place zerglings go to when they die.

Realizing I was still in this game, I went into a production frenzy all of the sudden in which 2 more barracks, an academy, an engineering bay, a comsat station and a factory got built. In addition, I sent two new marines to the northwest corner scouting for [MM]Naakaloh . What they found was arguably even better. An expansion drone had been sent to that location at almost exactly the same time. The poor guy died a bloody death after being riddled with the new U-238 bullet packs. The marines then moved on to find [MM]Naakaloh's main in the northeast corner and with some micro, one made it back after scouting the interior of his base.

The surviving marine next scouted the southeast position, finding a mutating hatchery with some zerglings defending. I knew I could not afford an expansion, so I made sure to prevent losing the economic game by sending all of my forces (6 marines, 2 medics) to destroy it. Three marines died honorably while killing around eight zerglings and the hatchery was cancelled.

As I continued to amass medarine, a pair of mutalisks snuck aruond my defenses and attempted rather unsuccessfully to harass my scvs, killing one before medarine reoinforcements arrived. Concurrently, at [MM]Naakaloh's base, a large force of zerglings was rapidly being built up for an invasion. A little while later, approximately 40 zerglings arrived at my choke killing a grand total of one of my two new siege tanks. The lack of resources was taking its toll on the zerg and unforunately for them, 40 zerglings are not worth one siege tank. I attacked [MM]Naakaloh's main with 12 medarine and one tank finding no resistance exactly some 10 fresh hatched lings. They were destroyed, and as more reinforcements arrived, it was clear that the terrans owned this platform, for now anyway.
