Lifetime Rating for flojin: 5.0000 |  | I was hoping for a 2v2, but after a long wait, I played with the only guy who showed up. His name was riddle2, and he had no record 0-0-0. He gave me all kinds of other screen names that he claimed to have played, and they had tremendous stats.
I played random, he selected zerg. My starting position was the top middle of the map. As soon as it started, I realized I was playing a weanie, when he said "no rush, ok?" I don't like to let anyone dictate the rules, because I don't like to play their game. I've learned that no rush, usually means, "Don't attack me until I'm ready to kill you."
Nonetheless, I agreed. I spent my first 100 on a supply depot, the next 100 on an extractor, and then saved the next 400 for an immediate expansion. I figured if he wanted a no rush game, I'd better expand immediately. As soon as both towns were up and running, I built four, that's right, four barracks.
I pumped out marines, and began scouting the board with two groups of 12. I started on two factories also. He had scouted me with a ling, so I was nervous about getting the first attack off. Finally, I found him in the bottom middle of the map. My 12 marines that found him polished off his natural expansion. I noticed an overlord flying away with a speed upgrade, which indicated that he had a lair already.
I upraded to spider mines and stim, I already had range, and I laid mines all over the middle of the map. I sent my first siege down to his base with a ton of marines (at least 20). I moved in, and he had....nothing. As I walked in he started to lag. He told me to push alt-xxx to stop the lag. I figured this was some lame trick to get me to quit out of the program, so I just pressed the attack. He said "Press alt-xxx to quit lag." I said, "I did." He said nothing and as his town melted under the fury of my marines he discoed.
I didn't really care, it was obvious I had won and stats mean little to me. However, he came back on under the name riddleinthehay. So, if you encounter someone with riddle in their name, they may be this weenie. My big lesson learned, is that whenever anyone says, "No rush" they are really saying, "Go ahead and expand immediately, since you are safe from attack." I hope you found this interesting.
