| Hi Ralessi, sure made cold syrup out of your goons. | | | Author: | | | IP: | XXXX | | Date: | 06/27/99 10:06 | | Game Type: | Starcraft | | Labels: | Starcraft(1), Text Only(1) | | Report Rating: , # of Ratings: 1, Max: 5, Min: 5 Lifetime Rating for STINGWEED: 5.0000 | | Well, you all know how annoying Ralessi could be at times in the nohunters channel. Well, After playing a game with him and after stating that I as a Terran can kill a Protoss going for a Zealot, Dragoon, Dt, Templar, you name it whatever attack, and that when we declared war^_^ We both decided to play on Chain Lightning, a descent map, advantages for both toss and terran. Anyways, here's the report from my own eyes^_^ (btw, this game was played last week, never found enough time to post it):
I was a odd Terran, with a much different build order then others, instead of erecting 2 rax, I decided to go 1 rax, then a depot, then a refinery, and a 2 bunker defence. I went straight for 2 factories as 2 bunkers can defend almost anything early in the game (5 plus/minus min) . After constructing 2 factories, I sent a marine to scout. At the same time, I added on 2 machine shops, and built a engineering bay, and an academy. Half way to whereever Ralessi's base was, my marine got fried as it encountered a deadly mix of 12 zealots and 8+ dragoons. I quickly decided to build some vultures and plant some mines, but it was too late, the mines I planted blew up, etc, and that didn't work :P So, the next thing I did was build 2 tanks, both equipped with seige already. Half-way through their building, his army had arrived. His zealots made good distraction for my bunkers as they allowed his dragoons to do real damage. I quickly grabbed 15 of my 30 scv's at my main base (I make lots of scv's), and started to flood and surround my bunkers with repairmen. And luckily, it worked, after repairing the same bunker for 1 whole minute, the dragoons were cold syrup and the zealots were vaporized. But this ain't the end, about 4 minutes after, he sent 4 dark templars, and 8 more dragoons. Luckily, I built about 6 turrets surrounding my base. However, his dt's gotta a way hacking at about my depots, and my peon line. Thankfully, I had 3 tanks seiged and a comsat that roasted his dt's (I wish I had some screen shots). After losing 2 tanks, a bunker and a barrack to his army, I decided it was my turn to take the aggressive. I decided to erect a mass production army, consisting of 6 barracks, 4 factories and 2 starports. All within 5 minutes of time. I expanded after his attack to 3 locations to give him lots of trouble killing my expansions. I researched uranium shells, stims, etc, cloaking for wraiths and all. For the first time, I encountered his base, which consisted of 5 gateways, 2 forges, a cybernetics and a robotics facility, etc. A typical toss player. He had about 3 high templars floating around, and a reaver, and bunch of dragoons and zealots, some dt's, a lil of everything. After comsating about 4 times, I realized that he had 3 bases as I was able to get 4. I mass produced, built about 8 tanks, 80 or more marine/firebat/medic army, 5 sci vessels, 8 wraiths and about 6 goliaths. It was over. He was in for a whoopping. I emped everything, his templars were useless, his army was half dead, plus, I build a military outpost out side his base consisting of 2 barracks, and a shit load of bunkers and turrets. Slowly, I moved up his ramp, brought in my infantry and roasted his main base. I started building 2 nukes, but by then, he was dead.
Lesson to be Learned:
For Protoss
1. Don't attack a terran who has 30+ scv's mining at one base.
2. Don't attack a terran with 3+ seige tanks and 2+ bunkers with 18 or less dragoons, it just doesn't work.
3. Don't attack a terran with dt's who has already setup
a descent amount of turrets. It's a waste of micromanagement.
4. If you are going to build an army and attack a terran, make sure you make lots of it.
For Terran
1. Tech to factories as they will be lifesavers against mass
dragoons. 1 barrack and 2 bunkers full is enough to fend off a zealot rush of 36 zealots or less. I'm not kidding.
If you surround yer bunkers with scv's, they won't be able to attack you. And you all know that the computer ai is stupid to not attack the scv's^_^ that is if you can repair fast enough.
2. Build lots of scv's. Terran usually needs more peons than
any other race as Terran construction requires the
prescence of a scv, which really kills a Terran player's
economy. 24 is the magic number for me.
3. Build a stupid engineering bay before a academy if the
toss finds you first, as they will be zealot rushing first, then bringing in dt's. Comsat does not work well
with dt's as smart toss players will bring 1 at a time
to waste your comsat magic.
4. Build tanks, tanks fry dragoons.
5. Build close and very unorganized. If possible, spread
the terran disease and bunker and turret the whole map if
possible. Toss aren't good at attacking 2 places at once.
6. Plant mines around your peon line against reaver or dt
drops. Very effective.
7. Remember, build the stupid engineering bay before the
academy. Sure stims are great, but by the time you have
a descent army, the toss will kill you with dragoons.
8. Science vessels are good against corsairs. Defensive
matrix one vessel, and send that vessel to emp happy.
Almost all toss players I've played crunch up their
corsairs, this is real good for me^_^
9. BUNKER! They protect yer marines from Psi storm^_^ And
Spread yer tanks away from each other. This way, the
opponent doesn't know what to psi! =)
Any complaints, please address them to me at: oxygenwave@netscape.net.
Btw, StinkyValkyrie, not only do you stink, but you suck too. =) Long live the Terran Dominion! |
