"Unfortunately, the evil Protoss military-industrial complex had so heavily polluted the SCV's normal migratory pathway with cannons that not one made it to the mating grounds."

Hello everybody, it's me again. Some of you may remember my 1st BR about a great game of Minesweeper. Well here’s my 2nd one, it's just not about minesweeper. It's an actual Starcraft game between me and my best friend.

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING TEXT CONTAINS NO PICS, NO HTML, AND THE PLAYERS SUCK

There, you've been warned.

The Players

Boomstick78 - My best friend, picked random and was handed 4 shiny probes that had just finished spit shining a pretty little Nexus

AmoebaBoy - Me, also picked random and was presented with 4 rusty SCV's dug out of a scrap heap and a Command Center that was found floating in space with it's crew found dead and nailed to the wall.

The Map

Triumvirate - For the 100% of you that have never even heard of triumvirate, it's an island map with 3 starting positions. One around 3, where I started, one around 7:30 where Boomstick78 (henceforth known as Stick) started, and one around10:30 where I dumped the bodies I found in my CC. Each base has 8 mineral clusters with 1500 minerals each and a geyser with 5000 gas in it. There is a T of land separating each base. At the end of each stick of the T are 8 more mineral clusters with the same amount of minerals and a geyser with the same amount of gas. In the center of the T is the same thing as the ends of the T except this one is surrounded by a wall. So the only way to get in there is by floating or dropping. And once you do get down there the enemy can get to the top of the wall via stairs and rain cold hard death down upon your little town. Oh and by the way, this map has Bengalaas, the best critter there is.

Enough of that, if you want anymore go play the map and find out for yourself. The game started with us sending our peons (hehehe what a great word) to different mineral clusters. Our build orders went like this, try not to laugh.

Stick - Pylon on 9, Gateway on 11, Gas and Second Pylon on 14, 2nd Gateway on 15, 3rd Gateway and Cybernetics Core on 16

Meanwhile I went Depot on 9, Barracks on 11, Gas on 12, 2nd Depot on 13, 2nd Barracks on 17, and a Factory and Bunker on 21

At first we didn't know it was an island map but we soon found out after trying to scout. My strategy was to destroy some probes with a drop then keep the pressure on with many more drops. I found out afterwards that my opponent’s strategy was to get an early expansion and then get a lot of scouts and sairs for offense while Dragoons provided defense.

I throw down an Academy for a Comsat because I couldn't scout. As soon as my factory was finished a machine shop was added because I remembered that nothing destroys probes like siege tanks. As this was happening my opponent warped a robotics facility for shuttles. More teching continued with the machine shop completing, a comsat beginning construction, the foundation being laid for a starport for me and a stargate coming online for Stick. I suddenly that the key to stopping early drops is the missile turret and hastily build and engineering bay.

My first scanner sweep reveals water, and at the same time factory begins assembling a tank while its neighboring machine shop researches siege mode. On the other end of this battle Stick's stargate flickers into few and he becomes confident that his first line of defense will hold up, so confident in fact he still hasn’t trained any zealots (BTW, his first line of defense is the water surrounding his island). At around the time my starport his finished his forge is almost complete and a robotics support bay has begun warping. I add on a control tower and begin plotting what I will do after my first raid.

Sticks support bay come online at almost the same time as his shuttle, the shuttle picks up 3 probes and begins scouting for a suitable location to expand. The purpose of his support bay becomes clear as the gravatic drive starts being developed. And Stick finally creates a photon cannon around the same time I finally start making a missile turret. While he builds a 2nd cannon to the right of his Nexus I load my 2 tanks into a dropship and head for his base, even though I still don't know where it is. The following seconds is filled with my dropship, and Stick's shuttle aimlessly trying to find their targets. We find them at about the same time, and while he expands to the minerals in the center of the T, I began chanting kill, kill, kill those little yellow things that make funny noises when blown up.

FIRST BLOOD

Finally, I was waiting for that to happen. At the sight of my tanks my opponent does the best he can to defend with only probes as mobile units that can attack. The best is of course bum rushing my tanks with the probes in an attempt to destroy them before they can go to siege mode and back. This technique results in one tank being destroyed while the other carefully dances to avoid the bloodthirsty probes. a moderate number of probes are destroyed but my rampage is put to and end when Stick's first 3 zeals come charging out of his gateways, they destroy my other tank.

Then my dropship leaves the protoss base and begins venturing home. By pure dumb luck it happens to soar above Stick's new expansion. Upon seeing this I mobilize a squad of 5 marines that I trained for just such an occasion. The elite force lands upon the expansion and begins shooting probes. This time Stick thinks running is better than fighting and loads 4 probes into his shuttle leaving the remaining 3 to distract my marines. I destroy the nexus and scanner sweep over his base. Seeing that he's begun pumping zeals to counter another tank drop, I switch strategies to cloaked wraiths.

As he begins to rebuild his probes I slap down a 2nd starport next to my first which is pumping wraiths and researching cloaking. This new strategy leaves me a bit short of gas, so I take the central expansion that was once owned by Stick. While this is happening I build an armory to upgrade my wraiths. I decide to keep on the pressure by mobilizing 6 wraiths. But at that very moment, Stick starts an observatory (shit). They swing around, cloak, and assault Stick's probes, again. But this time they drift a little bit to close to a well placed cannon and are revealed in all their splendid glory. This splendid glory soon turns to floating shrapnel as 2 dragoons come running towards the exposed paper airplanes. I decide to pull off a maneuver that is both daring and stupid at the same time. I charge at the cannon and destroy it losing only 4 to 2 dragoons and 2 cannons. I retreat them once the cannon is destroyed so the second cannon can not see them. If you have ever wondered how long it takes for 2 wraiths to destroy some probes the answer is too long. And it takes not long enough to build an observer.

The silent witness comes online and shows the guarding goons where my hidden assassins are hiding. 2 goons > 2 injured wraiths, and they are destroyed. Since he now has observers I figure wraiths are little more then worthless against him and switch strategies back to constant dropping. But just to keep the pressure on I hit with 4 more wraiths. A quick scan and a few missiles later the area is observer free, but before that could happen a wraith went down to defending dragoons. Once the observer was down the probes scattered like ants trying to defend their hill from intruders. Yet once again a cannon alerts the goons of my wraiths position and they are quickly dealt with. Back at my base I build a 2nd factory and begin making goliaths as quickly as possible. A science facility is put up at my expansion, government funding is given to research of EMP and I begin a science vessel to support my goliaths.

I move out 2 dropships filled with 8 goliaths and a SV. A passing observer alerts Stick to my presence and his goon defenders are prepped for battle. The goliaths drop behind his minerals (yet again) and engage the goons, an EMP from my SV cripples the defense and it is taken care of with no losses. But to get to his base I have to go around the mineral line. And while my goliaths are navigating the minerals another group of 7 zealot defenders tear into my single file intruders. I react quickly and fire an EMP, that would have happened if my vessel had any energy left. It's up to my goliaths to do this. The fight is already predetermined since goliaths > zeals, but Stick proves he can be sneaky too and distracts my mechanized warriors with an empty shuttle, while my men are shooting it down the zeals destroy to more goliaths unmolested, bringing my count down to 4, but that’s all I need as the stalwart defenders are cut down where they stand by relentless machine gun fire. In the end the 4 remaining goliaths are scarred yet alive and begin thrashing his base. A cannon fights my attackers while the probes retreat. Due to them being injured and one still trying to find his way around the minerals (retard) the cannon holds its own against the goliaths but is destroyed by my last fighting goliath just as the cannons last bolt rips through the machine. I'm left with just one goliath that’s stuck behind the minerals and he too his soon destroyed by reinforcing zealots.

Charon boosters is upgraded and 2 more dropships are created. And a short while later 12 goliaths are on their way to Stick's base. Once dropped they begin wrecking havoc on anything that gets in their way, the zeal and goon defenders are no match as the island is wiped clean of protoss and Boomstick is eliminated.

There I'm finally done, anyone thats still reading this can go comment.
