Second, I give my thanks to all those text-only report lovers (if there are any)... ... ... You guessed it, another text-only. Sorry, but my HTML and and picture-shit sucks. Therefore, no pictures and no HTML in this battlereport (if you don't include the small underlines).
Introduction: Like I said, this is a text-only, so I don't expect more than a seven rating, and if I do get higher I'll jump out of my chair and leap for joy. I'm just about to leave on a ski trip, so I decided I better submit this before I go. This report is a game in a five game series. A five game series of me versus someone whose name I don't even remember. I am not reporting the first four games as they were bullshit (four-pooling, raped by DTs, muta rushed, etc, etc). Anyways, onto the report!
Map: Lost Temple (of, course)
Players: Unknown guy randoms Terran - blue
Me (Adrenaling) randoms Zerg - yellow
My yellow hatchery morphed into the 3:00 position, and my initial overlord scouted counter-clockwise. I cloned my drones perfectly and they began to mine away. I make another overlord at almost full control and my scouting overlord found his base at 12:00. I then built a pool with consistent drones building.
At his base I saw a depot finishing and a rax building. I couldn't yet judge what strategy he was using, but then a second barracks started. So I judged he was getting marine/medic. During this time of thought I had been building up. I had a hatchery down below my ramp at the choke, and had a morphing extractor.
His scouting SCV ran into my choke and sees my morphing hatchery. It turned around and built a bunker fairly close to my hatchery. I morphed six zerglings at my main to defend myself from his offensive bunker. By this time I had a morphing hydralisk den and a morphing Lair.
My hatchery and his bunker finish at about the same time. Two marines entered his bunker and two SCVs stood around, waiting to repair it. The marines inside the bunker open fire at my defenseless hatchery. I had twelve zerglings in my main, so I assaulted the bunker, hoping to get rid of it. Two more marines jumped into the bunker and a shower of bullets fell down onto my zerglings, killing two. Realizing there was no hope, I retreated the small force back into my main.
My hydra den and Lair had been completed, so I researced Lurker Morph at the hydra den. I threw down another Hatchery because the one at my choke had been destroyed. I scouted with another slow overlord to find he had begun an expansion at his natural. The overlord flew past the expansion and entered the Terran main to find three barracks and a small group of infantry. I had made quite a number of zerglings/hydras/lurkers, so I assaulted the offensive bunker with them. Despite his frantic attempts to repair it, the bunker blew up and the four marines inside were slaughtered. I then expanded to my natural. I scouted the map with a zergling to find another expansion started at the 6:00 natural. I gathered my remaining zerglings and attacked the building expansion, destroying it. I morphed in three more lurkers, to bring my lurker count up to seven. With support hydras and zerglings I attacked his natural expansion. He had maynarded SCVs to his natural, but that desicion proved unwise as my zerg forces came tearing in. He brought his large force of infantry down the ramp to assault my forces. The marines stimmed up, lurkers burrowed, zerglings clawed, hydralisks spat. It ended up being a bloody massacre, but the Terran forces came out on top.
With three hatcheries and a new base I rebuilt my Zerg forces, which consisted of nothing but Hydralisks and Lurkers. At this time, "Unknown" thought he was being pushed around a lot, so he went on the offensive. Luckily, a scouting drone saw this coming and I got ready. I burrowed my Lurkers, five of them, in the infantrie's path to get ready to slice them all up. Unfortuneately, he scanned me and attacked the Lurkers. I managed to destroy half of his force, but he managed to destroy all of my lurkers. The infantry stopped in front of my choke. He stimmed his marines and bats and ran into my choke. I had quite a number of sunkens, and a shitload of hydras (with upgrades of 1 attack and 1 armor). His infantry had upgrades of only 1 armor. Bullets rained down on my hydralisks, while sunkens got free hits on him (now how did that happen). By the time all my hydras were dead, he only had a quarter of his infantry left. He tried vaguely to retreat them, but the sunkens killed all of the survivors.
During all this I had morphed in quite a number of zerglings and my main an natural were running well. I expanded to 6:00 natural and 6:00 main. With my LARGE zergling force, I assaulted his main. He had four marines that guarded the top of the ramp. He had also rebuilt his expansion at his natural. He now realized that he was in danger, so he panicked. I destroyed his natural, again, and waited there.
My new expansions at the 6:00 main and 6:00 natural had been completed and the drones were mining steadily. I morphed a spire and queen's nest at my main. When the queen's nest completed, I morphed my Lair into a Hive and then morphed my Spire into a Greater Spire. I quickly began producing mutas out of five hatcheries. Very soon my muta count was up to thirty-six. With me being rich, I morphed twelve into guards and twelve into devourers.
I knew this was the end because "Unknown's" main base had dried out, so he had little money and that he didn't have a force big enough to cope with mine. I sent in my guards to attack his base from behind and sent mutas and devourers as backup against air. "Unknown", knowing there was no hope, conceded with a hearty "gg".
Lessons Learned:
1) I think "Unknown" should have kept on bunkering me and keeping me in my base.
2) I suck at battlereporting.
3) He should've contained me when he had the chance.
4) I suck at battlereporting and should really learn HTML.
5) I should've attacked with my large zergling force when I had the chance to. Though, razing his main with guards was kind of funny.
