This one will be a short as possible....as the game was'nt that long :)... and I'm feeling bad posting so much.

Pre-Game: I was resting on the lazy-boy half asleep from having to get up so early on a Saturday (7 am...That is just unfair). I'm thinking about giving in to the sandman when I mumble to myself quietly, "NoooOoOo....must play SC...must...get.... another win...to reach my goal." I stumble awake and sloth over to the computer. I somehow manage to create a game of Challenger on Vanilla, when something interesting happens.

-=JSH=- has entered my game.

I'm now wide awake...we have been talking through BR comments for quite some time now. It's great to finally meet him in person (so to speak). I've read his BR's quite a few times....they never fail to make me laugh. Anyway...we exchange some friendly greetings, joke around a bit and get a game goin. I decide to random...and JSH follows my lead.

Me:Zerg
Him:Toss

I start off my build with a pool on 7 and make drones and a lord as I move along. everything was going O.K...but I was running into cash I was'nt spending as quick as I should have. Anyway...I believe around this time...I see his Toss probe enter my base. Ahhhhh...so he is Toss (I secretly thanked God he was'nt Terran). The probe darts in and out and sees my pool morphing I suspect. I send a drone to his base and scout him too. He is goin for the standard 2 gate build. This build can mean anything really...too early to tell what he has up his sleeve.

I leave my drone outside...and plan on sending it in a bit later. From reading his battlereports...I knew that his probe was outside my main (even though I could'nt see it)...and he was gonna send it back in a min later too (He always does that in his BR's anyway). With my first 2 lings, I attack/move them just past my choke on the mini-map and sure enough, they encounter the probe. The probe makes a mad rush to see my base one last time...but dies before it can see much (I think).

He then sends out a lone zealot to kill my drone outside of his base. Well, an eye for an eye I suppose ;) . I now decide to tech to hydras. I have a few lings and 2 sunkens in the old mineral lines. I have a shoestring defence and I'm hoping it will last untill my hydras move onto the battlefield. I send one ling to his mineral expansion (Which he later told me sent his expansion probe back in a hurry) and a minute later I sent down a ling to his base. It dies to some zeals at his choke. I did'nt have enough time to really estimate his numbers, but my hydras look they will be entering the battlefield soon :) . Just to make sure I'll be o.k, I morph about 9 more lings.

Shit. He attacks. I'm not sure how many zeals...let's just say a flock of Zeals. Well...he hit me during my weakest time. I had some hydras in eggs and needless to say...my shoestring defence did'nt hold. I thought...maybe...I can save this. Nope. He says, "Sorry". Heh heh, that was as legit as rushes get though. I'm cool with anything except a 4 or 5 pool. That was the strongest/quickest I have been zeal rushed in a LONG time.

Ahhh well. What can ya do eh? We tried to get a 2 vs 2 going later, but lag problems just would'nt let it happen. Mind you....it would have been cool if the next game turned into a JSH newbieland report starring us both.

Lessons learned:

-Hmmm...I was'nt spending my cash very well in early game, and I have to REALLY work on my zerg early game.

-My recon was ok...but, I really did'nt prepare too well at all for his attack. I should have put off teching to hyrdas and threw down a couple of sunkens/make lings.

-I'm going to try and improve the quality of my early scouting, like seeing exactally how the other guys troops compare to mine, ect.

Well, I got to play with JSH for the first time...and I learned how to improve my Zerg against Toss a bit in early game. Not too shabby for a dull Saturday afternoon. ;)

GG JSH
