I'd like to give a thx to Strega for inspiring me to write my own BR, not that he actually told me to write one, but reading his BR’s just kinda.. inspired me?
Now then, lets skip the wannabe funny intro and get right down to the ACTION! ^^.
*Pre-game mumbo jumbo*
Keanu_Reaver and Psyonic_Reaver met up in Clan ~NoHunters. This is where the saga begins. I asked if the two Reavers would go at it, and immediately they accepted.
Obviously Keanu, hoping to become famous, accepted to be in this BR, and Psyonic eagerly accepted aswell.. The smackdown hath been layeth!
Keanu, seeing his rival warp in on a backwater world for no obvious reasons decided to follow in suit to discover what was so interesting. Commanding an overlord to carry 5 Drones to this desolate planet, immediately one morphed into a teal hatchery at the 12 O’clock position and the others began to harvest minerals. Psyonic, situated at the 3 o’clock position, commanded his Orange robotic peons to begin the harvest of this precious ore as well. Unaware that this vile foe had followed him to this planet, Executor Psyonic did not scout.
**Keanu: Teal Zerg 12 o’clock; Psyonic: Orange Protoss 3 o’clock**
*Early Game*
Psyonic went for the usual Protoss build, 8 pylon,11 gate,12 gate,13 pylon. At this time Psyonic was scouted by Keanu's overlord.. Meanwhile Keanu went for 9 overlord, 11 pool,15 hatch (up by his minerals) and made 4 zerglings. Psyonic, knowing that Keanu's overlord could have come from no other place, scouts the 12 main. After seeing Keanu's main, Psyonic began making a zealot out of one gate, then shortly after another zealot in his 2nd gate.
Psyonic, sensing he has some sort of advatage, or just being retarded, decides to send a lone zealot to face the 4 zerglings that scared his probe away. While making two more zealots at home, Psyonic sends in the stalwart zealot, only to be shunned by 4 rabid lings. Getting worried that this zealot would not be the only one to stop by and say ‘sup, Keanu morphed 2 more larvae into lings, and made another hatchery at home.
Psyonic has begun harvesting Vespene gas but has halted production of zealots, why you ask? Simple Watson, Psyonic forgot to make another pylon =(. Realizing this before he totally ran out of psi, he warped in another pylon.
**Update** Keanu has 9 peons on minerals, 3 hatches, a pool, and 8 lings.
Psyonic has 12 peons on minerals and 2 on gas, 2 gates, 3 zels.
*Mid-Game*
Psyonic begins a Cyber core, meanwhile Keanu makes an extractor and sends 10 lings to Psyonic’s main. This attack only to be scared off by 3 zels on Psyonic’s cliff. Instead of retreating back to his main, Keanu sends 6 more zerglings to contain Psy.
Psyonic begins construction of a shield battery on his cliff, and begins to make 1 zel, and 1 goon in separate gates.
Being a vile cheapass zerg, Keanu begins morphing a hatchery in front of Psy’s base, Just out of sight, being guarded by 12 lings at the moment. At this very moment, Keanu begins teching to a Lair, while Psy warps in a Citadel of Adun. Keanu spots the Zerg hatch with a scouting probe, however, knowing his zealots are not enough, does not attack. Meanwhile back at Keanu's main, he cleverly hides a Spire at the right ledge.
At this very moment, Psyonic, making a feeble late game attempt at stopping the Zerg Cerebrate from expanding to his natural, builds a pylon, and soon after 1 gate and 1 Photon Cannon. He then summons 2 zealots to defend this small outpost. Well now, lets not get ahead of ourselves, lets take a deep breath, stretch out and rewind a bit…
Psy waits for his dragoon and zealot to finish, then scares the Zerg force away and Keanu, being the super gosu he is, manages to cancel his hatchery at 1250 hp. The Foolish Protoss Executor thinks he senses weakness in his foe, and continues forth with 6 zels and 2 dragoons. However, he is slowed down by a sizeable zergling horde.
A large fight ensues, but the Protoss Executor proves to be smarter than he may seem, and by clever zealot dancing the zerg forces retreat just as Keanu's Spire finishes.
Keanu, knowing that going for mutas right after he lost the majority of his ground crew would be foolish, decides to pump some more lings, then make mutas. This tactic turns out to work very well because the Protoss Commander soon engaged the Zerg main with 9 zealots. By this time Keanu had made 6 mutas and about 18 lings, so the meager protoss force did not stand a chance.
*Late Game*
Psyonic, becoming quite desperate at the time, expands to his natural (during the fight in the Zerg main) and begins mining when the expansion comes online. I’m afraid I’m getting a little ahead of myself, so lets rewind a bit….(yes I, lets rewind a bit, AGAIN.)
After the attack on the Zerg main, Keanu immediately counters with his mutalisks.
Well Lo and Behold! Keanu spots a little orange blip on his minimap! Yes my friends,don’t you remember that little outpost Psyonic build at Keanu's natural? Well, lets just say you don’t have to, because it’s razed in about 1 minute flat by some mutaling.
After razing Psyonic's lil’ outpost, Keanu proceeds to the Protoss main and encounters 3 dragoons. Knowing that 5 mutas > 3 dragoons(with decent micro) Keanu dispatches the dragoons losing nothing but approximately 50 hp each. Keanu proceeds to do the infamous Muta-in-the-peon-line tactic, killing some of Psyonic's peons. Psyonic, apparently not noticing the Templar Archives, and the 800 gas he has, goes for 2 more dragoons instead of making HT’s for some nice Archons. Keanu soon eradicates the random dragoons that dare to fire upon his disgusting mutalisks.
** Update **
** Keanu has 10 muties and approx. 40 lings, meanwhile Psyonic has 1 dragoon and 1 zealot.**
Free to attack without fear of anti air fire, the mutalisks raze Psyonic's Nexus and some other random structures. Not sitting on his hands during his visit to the Protoss main, Keanu has amassed about 40 zerglings in front of Psyonic's base. As you can imagine, the Protoss base soon fell to the Zerg hordes. GG’s were exchanged, although we know that Psy didn’t mean it ^^;
**After-game thoughts**
Psyonic, when you have 900 gas and 200 minerals, and have templar archives, Don’t get dragoons, get Archons!! Keanu, scouting with zerglings is a good thing.. do it.. or ill spank you.. maybe… Here's the Rep. of this game and be sure to watch the other 2 replays of this stimulating 3 game series ^^ (the second game is actually funny, the 3rd.. well.. d/l it and see who wins. =)
**Highlight of the game**
While I was Observing this game, I caught a glimpse of the elusive and magnificent Ghost Zealot. I was truly fascinated as I studied this creature for hours on end, perhaps some of you would like to take a look.. he is truly magnificent. At 0/0 (Sheilds/HP) he is a rare occurrence in nature.
