This battlereport was built for IE 5.5, but it will probably work with some lower IEs and Netscape. This reports contains less then 1 meg of pics, so don't complain.
Welcome to the pointless intro point of my latest battlereport. The only reason you should be reading the following section is that you are very bored or are waiting for the pictures to load.
The following is a pointless picture you can stare at while the rest of the pics are loading. It shows how well respected I am in channel clan ~nohunters. |

The title pic should tell you that this is a 1v1 on Island Hop. The players are StatutoryRape (random: Protoss) and Who'sGotLag.IDO (random: Protoss). |
Random BR Info
For the minimaps, large spots indicate mining bases, medium spots indicate under-construction/mined-out/disabled-from-attack bases, and small spots show important troop positions.
Also, some alt-text for plain text will be indicated by the words being colored blue, ala CHJ. | Like so. These are simply optional side-notes which you may or may not care about. |
For those of you who don't know Island Hop, it is a five-player map. There are 5 mains, which are (mapwise), north, east, southeast, southwest, and northwest. There are 4 mineral & gas expansion islands, one between each main on the outside of the map. In addition, there are two mineral-only islands in the center (roughly). |

As you should be able to see, StatutoryRape triumphantly arrived at the east main where he was heralded by his adoring probes. Who'sGotLag.IDO rolled himself in blue glitter and snuck into his base camouflaged as a mineral cluster. He then locked himself in the control room before anyone could stop him, much to his troop's dismay. |
Build Orders |
StatutoryRape started with an early gas/unit production strategy with slow tech. The build order was pylon, gas, gate, pylon, pylon, cybernetics core, pylon, robotics facility, forge, pylon, photon cannon, observatory, photon cannon, citadel of adun. The lone gateway was constantly producing troops, with 3 zealots produced until the cybernetics core went online and then 3 dragoons. |
Who'sGotLag.IDO went with a quick expansion/observer strategy with a reaver option. The build order was pylon, gate, pylon, cybernetics core, robotics facility, forge, observatory, pylon, robotics support bay, photon cannon, nexus (at expansion), pylon (at expansion). Two scout-deterring dragoons were built before the first shuttle followed by 2 observers and another dragoon. At this point both the players had enough of this and decided to fight it out in the manliest way possible... |
A Staring Contest! (I miss Andy) |
Who'sGotLag.IDO's first observer arrived at StatutoryRapes's base at this point and blundered into the mineral line's photon cannon. The larger troop count was noted and Who'sGotLag.IDO warped in 3 photon cannons at his expansion. A reaver was also ordered up to counter the enemy troop numbers. |
Seeing the observer in his base, StatutoryRape sent his first observer to Who'sGotLag.IDO's base. Another gateway was warped in followed by a photon cannon to push away observers. StatutoryRape finally warped in a templar archives to make use of his now significant gas supply.
StatutoryRape's observer arrived in Who'sGotLag.IDO's base and quickly ran out after spotting a warping photon cannon. The observer then drifted over to the southern expansion island to check for expansions and found a fully running expansion and with the 3 cannons still warping. |

StatutoryRape had shuttled a probe to the northeast expansion and a nexus and pylon were just starting. The two gateways were still pushing out troops with 4 zealots just ordered. |

Once Who'sGotLag.IDO found StatutoryRape's main, the future location of his expansion was obvious. The second observer produced was sent around the map and finally parked next to the northeast expansion island shortly before the enemy expansion was started. Who'sGotLag.IDO ordered his first reaver and one of the dragoons defending the expansion into a shuttle going to the northeast island.
StatutoryRape was not stalling at this point and was assembling a raid to hit the southern expansion. 3 shuttles were loaded with 6 zealots and 3 dragoons before heading off. |
@#$*%! |
Who'sGotLag.IDO unloaded his reaver/goon on the northeast island, which was just coming online after an 8 probe shuttle transfer. Immediately the reaver came under photon cannon fire while the dragoon was unloaded. The reaver lost its shields and took light damage before the cannon was destroyed by the two raiders' fire. The reaver then concentrated its fire on the probes, while the dragoon amused itself by etching its name into the nexus walls.
StatutoryRape's attack force arrived at the southern island 8 seconds after the other raid and dropped its force under photon cannon fire. The three shuttles headed back to their main after dropping their cargo. The first zealot to land was the first to go and was followed by two dragoons, before the 3 cannon/1 dragoon defenses were destroyed. |

StatutoryRape's 3 shuttles returned to his main and picked up 4 dragoons. The relief force headed to the burning northeast expansion in hopes of saving it. The 4 dragoons unloaded and saw the tail ends of the raid force heading back to the shuttles. Who'sGotLag.IDO in his infinite greed and stupidity loaded up both his reaver and dragoon into the shuttle before heading out. The four dragoons pounded the shuttle to the limit, but it seemed poised to escape. At the last second, 1 dragoon took one step forward and fired a parting shot. The escaping shuttle blew apart like an overstuffed piñata pushing Who'sGotLag.IDO behind StatutoryRape. |
A closer look at the nexus showed that it was down to 52 hitpoints and the base could have been destroyed if the troops were left behind. |

The shuttle that was lost was also the only one that Who'sGotLag.IDO had. The southern expansion could therefore, not be rescued in time and was lost. |
Catch-up? |
StatutoryRape then concentrated on producing constant units and rebuilding his expansion. |
Within 3 minutes, Who'sGotLag.IDO sent another reaver/goon shuttle to the southern island, while preparing to expand. The upgrades at this point were 1/1/0 for StatutoryRape and 1/0/0 for Who'sGotLag.IDO (attack/armor/shields). StatutoryRape was warping in a nexus when the shuttle arrived which was defended by the remainder of the raid force. The reaver/goon faced 5 zealots and 1 dragoon with the first scarab taking out a zealot. The reaver was reloaded and sent home when it became apparent that the zealots could not be killed in time. StatutoryRape's dragoon had also taken some shots at the shuttle, so escape was made while it was still possible, with the dragoon being left behind as cannon fodder. |

Who'sGotLag.IDO placed an observer over the southern expansion while both sides rebuilt their forces. StatutoryRape was building high templar, dragoons, and shuttles. |
After StatutoryRape's nexus finished warping on the southern island, Who'sGotLag.IDO sent 2 shuttles carrying 3 dragoons and a reaver. StatutoryRape's entire defense force targeted the reaver and destroyed it before dying to the three dragoons and scarab damage. |
Who'sGotLag.IDO started warping in an expansion at the mineral/gas island between the two Southeast and East mains. Two pylons were also warping in to support photon cannons when StatutoryRape's observer flew over to scout the path for reinforcing troops. |
The reinforcing troops in the three shuttles instead landed at the expansion island forcing the cancellation of the buildings. StatutoryRape's forces killed the dragoon and probe that were there. Who'sGotLag.IDO's defending force had been stripped of units for the raid on the southern expansion.
Who'sGotLag.IDO's 3 dragoons at the southern island were in the meantime tearing down the StatutoryRape's nexus and so a friendly nexus could be warped in. |

Damn Rep Files |
From this point on the battlereport will be described from memory. The rep files of both my opponent and myself don't work beyond here. |
StatutoryRape continued to build troops and added dark templar to his forces. |
Who'sGotLag.IDO's expansion came online and a shuttle of probes left to speed operations up. With only one base mining, the expansion attempts, and teching to templar, the main had defenses of 4 photon cannons, 2 zealots, 4 dragoons, and 1 reaver spread around the base. 2 more zealots and another reaver were also under construction. |
StatutoryRape's doom drop of ~5 shuttles arrived as the probe-carrying shuttle was about to leave. The attack force carried ~2 zealots, ~2 dark templar, ~3 high templar and ~5 dragoons unloaded above Who'sGotLag.IDO's main. Who'sGotLag.IDO's zealot/goon force moved to engage, trickling in from around the base, while the reaver fired a shot at the first unit to unload. |

Who'sGotLag.IDO's reaver targeted one of StatutoryRape's high templar vaporizing it, but a psi-storm was still called down upon it. StatutoryRape's zealot/dark templar/dragoon combo wiped out the attacking zealot/dragoon combo.
The combination of zealot/dragoon/photon cannon did manage to destroy all of StatutoryRape's melee units before being destroyed. Who'sGotLag.IDO's constructing zealots and reaver came out during the battle but were destroyed quickly. |
As a desperate measure, Who'sGotLag.IDO ordered the construction of two dark templar, in hope of a lack of enemy observers. StatutoryRape concentrated on annihilating Who'sGotLag.IDO's main's mineral line, both probes and nexus. The dark templar were only able to strike a few times before they were destroyed before killing any dragoons. The main was defenseless when StatutoryRape began to take down the gateways. |
Faced with the prospect of losing his entire tech, supply, and unit buildings versus an enemy with a healthy economy, Who'sGotLag.IDO conceded the game.
The game was approximaetely 18-19 minutes in length. The outcome of the scores should be obvious, so no need to post them. |
Wow! A Game Summary Pic! |

Yes, that's it |
This game wasn't particularly long or extremely well played game, but I'm battlereporting it because I promised that I would and the game wasn't really that bad. |

*Special Offer* |

I have re-edited my third battlereport. It is now in tables, so the colors are easier to read, and 4.1 megs have been cut off of them. It's still got 6.3 megs of pics though. |

There's nothing new about my fourth report, but I'll mention it anyway. It is fictionalized, but there is a real game buried in there if you care. Text-only though. |
