Okay, so here's the deal. I was going to do some work on a report I've been trying to release. Well, when I hit the game's halfway mark, I realized I was taking notes on the wrong game. (Slightly arrogant newbie reporter's tip: playing the replay at normal speed and taking notes on the game's events, writing things how you would put them verbally seems to make the writing a little bit better than clunking yourself on the head trying to think of something witty.) Apparently, this game sucked incomprehensible amounts of ass and was completely one sided (See what I mean?), but since I had ripped a page out of my sketchbook to take these notes, I sure as hell wasn't going to throw them away. So, there you go. You've been warned. This game sucks. It is awful. The only reason to read this report is to flame me for posting it or get me that very much-deserved rating of a one.
Wow! I'm honored you haven't spammed my comments section with flames yet...
This game was the last of a little four-man tourney that myself and some online buddies decided to have, just to see who owned the most. The map was Fading Realm, also known as NOT THE LOST TEMPLE! I was Protoss at the northwest starting position and Let_Me_Win!!! was Zerg in the southeast. As I started out with the most horrible clone I've ever seen in my life, Let_Me_Win!!! sent out his first Overlord to scout. When the Overlord hit the central expansion, I had a Pylon started and sent the Probe who built it toward the Zerg main base.
Meanwhile, a Drone was headed to the west of the Zerg base, toward one of the two nearby expansions. My supply kicked in at about this time, and I managed to keep Probe production up. I built a Gateway near my Pylon, followed by a second one when my next Probe came out of the Nexus. That Zerg Overlord had been on the move, and Let_Me_Win!!! caught my base as my Probe ran into his. Noticing no new structures, I sent my robotic buddy to the southwest corner of the map, knowing that the Zerg player would probably plop down an annoying early expansion, and plop he did.
As I reached the expansion (located in the southwest, just north of the one on the cliff), I decided to do a little unnecessary harassment to the morphing Hatchery to show the guy who was boss (him). A Spawning Pool was quickly set down in the Zerg main base, and as always, I was having supply problems back at home. A Sunken Colony was being built to protect the new Hatchery from that Probe, who was dealing very little amounts damage. I quickly ordered the Probe to attack the Sunken Colony while I sent a Zealot to help out.
I thought it was about the right time to warp in a Cybernetics Core (that damn Overlord was still hanging around in my base), and little did I know, Let_Me_Win!! had expanded again to the mineral fields on the cliff south of his current expansion. A second Zealot was sent to assist the Probe and the first Zealot (already on the move) in stopping this attempt at an early expansion. Six Zerglings and that old Sunken Colony put an end to those plans. Oh, well.
I continued to mass Zealots out of my two Gateways, while pondering a fast Forge and a somewhat early expansion to match that of my Zerg opponent. The fact that my Forge had just finished warping in (Pay attention, Rowdy!) showed that, whether I liked it or not, I was going to go with that plan. My first Dragoon quickly busted out of a Gateway and did away with that nuisance of an Overlord that was watching over me.
I sent a squad of about six Zealots and a Probe to get started on an expansion in the northeast corner of the map. Let_Me_Win!!! decided to build yet another Hatchery at his first expansion. An eerie calm reigned over the battlefield as the timer hit six minutes and thirty seconds. I managed to sneak a Citadel of Adun and a third Gateway in at my main base to keep that constant drive toward Psionic Storm going. The Zerg player had just finished placing ANOTHER Hatchery in his newest expansion, as well as a new Hydralisk Den.
Being the paranoid player that I am, I placed a couple of Photon Cannons near my minerals at each base to provide detection and drop defense. Two Evolution Chambers were constructed in Let_Me_Win!!!'s main base to research the attack and armor upgrades. He then morphed two more Hatcheries and evolved the Hydralisk range upgrade, while I received a Templar Archives and researched Psionic Storm.
Then it began. The Hydralisks started to hatch. There were eggs were everywhere. More and more Hydralisks crept out of their wretched cocoons, into the blue night. My Zerg enemy was gathering his forces and preparing a final attack. Completely unaware of what was happening in his base, I calmly called upon several High Templar from my Gateways, as well as a few Dragoons.
The Hydralisk range upgrade finished evolving, and Let_Me_Win!!! researched Hydralisk speed and morphed a Lair at his newest expansion. When the Lair was completed, he continued his upgrading of ranged attacks and Zerg armor. I (remember me?) was pumping units (mostly Zealots), and researching the High Templar energy upgrade, as well as Dragoon range and Zealot speed. I built two Gateways at my expansion, warped a Forge in at my main base, and prepared to send my forces into battle.
My confident warriors gathered at the central expansion (because I told them to), a small distance from the constantly expanding Zerg base. My forces consisted of about fifteen Zealots, five High Templar, and four Dragoons. Well, I think it's quite obvious that eight trillion Hydralisks with superior upgrades will reduce an army that small to dust within several seconds (they did), but for the sake of whatever dignity remains in this report, I'll review exactly what happened.
My Zealots and Dragoons engaged the Hydralisks while my High Templar moved silently around the back of my troops, storming in every possible direction. There were so many Hydralisks that I was just overpowered by the numbers, and my Psionic Storms did little more than clear some space for the Zerg troops in the back to move up. I retreated to my expansion while sending reinforcements from my main base to the ramp located there. I managed to hold the upper part of my ramp for a good ten seconds before Let_Me_Win!!! bit into my expansion's creamy center.
My rival had sent the other half of his impressive army toward my main base to catch me off guard while I defended my expansion. He encountered little resistance, and like a house of cards on a windy day, my base collapsed into a pile of yellow rubble, charred with blue fire. We all know never to give up in a game StarCraft, and we all follow that rule quite strictly (yeah, right), so I was not embarrassed to keep constructing new Gateways near my last few Pylons as the massive amounts of Hydralisks (reminds me of my money map days) continued to advance. Eventually, all was lost, and I accepted defeat with only fourteen minutes and fifty-six seconds on the clock.

From the bottom of my heart, I beg all raters and readers to forgive me for releasing the crap that is this battle report to the public. I really just wanted to see if people liked my pictures and writing. Now, my playlist is almost finished, and it's 6:26 in the morning, so I'd better get to bed. Comments are welcomed, criticism expected, and flames frowned upon. Thanks for reading.
