Map: Blood Bath
Me: Picked Terran (top-right)
Ally: Picked Terran (bottom-right)
Enemy1: Picked Zerg (top-left)
Enemy2: Picked Terran (bottom-left)

Note: I will call my ally AT, and my two enemies EZ and ET from now on.

Well as you can tell this is a 2v2 allied game in regular SC on BB. I didn't know any of the other people so it is your basic random TVB game. It's me and 3 newbies. Before we get to the game itself, let's listen to some of the chat in the game room.

AT: "Is there rushing?"
ET: "No, rushers suck."
AT: "Yeah, I agree."
EZ: "Well, I was going to say yes, but I won't now."
ET: "Yeah, a Zerg rush is impossible to stop on this map."
Me: "I can stop it."
ET: "Oh."

Oh boy. A no rush game. Most of the time when someone says no rush I immediately leave, because these games almost always are unfulfilling or aggravating. For some masochistic reason though, I stayed in this game. I will regret that pretty soon.

Anyway the game begins and at least we all manage to ally correctly. On six occasions in the past three weeks, I had a partner who didn't know how to ally, but those are other stories for other times. Anyway, I do a normal build, and my partner decides to get gas very early, like 6th SCV or around there. He also builds a depot first. Either he's an insane powerer taking advantage of a no rush game or a newbie. Guess which one is the answer. ;)

Me: "So what are you going to make?"
AT: "I don't know, what are you going to make?"
Me: "I'm probably going to ram a million marines down the Zerg's throat."
AT: "Uh, ok. I guess I'll make wraiths and marines."

So I build up a 2nd barracks and am making lots of SCV's and Marines, while watching my ally. He's working on his 2nd depot, and has stopped making SCV's.

Me: "Whatcha doing over there?"
AT: "What's it look like I'm doing?"
Me: "Good question."
(About now he's working on his 3rd depot)
Me: "Please make a Barracks."
AT: "Relax, man, I know what I'm doing."
Me: "Of course."
AT: "Hey, now don't get sarcastic like that."

I'm getting Stim & Range from my Academy and my Comsat is being added. I scan the Zerg and see a Hive morphing. Uh oh. Hive = bad. Fortunately, he has 1 sunken and 4 Hydralisks defending. Pretty much meat for 30 drugged marines.

So I lay waste to the Zerg and he does an interesting thing. He pauses the game.

Me: "What's going on here?"
EZ: "That was a friggin' rush!"
Me: "I'm afraid not."
EZ: "Yes it was, you friggin' rusher!"
ET: "Rusher rusher rusher!"
Me: "I saw a hive. I had to kill you."
EZ: "I don't care what you saw! You stay in your goddamn base!"
Me: "Oops."
ET: "...Well...maybe it wasn't a rush..."

The Zerg dies miserably. I scan the Terran and see a few bunkers and a couple tanks. I think, maybe I can take that, but before I go, my partner chimes in with "Let's let him live for a while." I guess he thought I must have been rushing or something and wanted to have a "fun" game with "strategy". Oh yeah, his one barracks was very idle and he had no starport either. He had an Ebay, but no turrets, and no upgrades being researched. His few marines were also 0/0.

Since Blood Bath has only one gas geyser per start, I chose to expand to where the Zerg used to be to get more gas. My partner says "Bring all your guys to this spot!" (meaning my expansion) So he takes every single one of his marines and moves them there to guard my CC. Of course his main is now wide open. I just leave my marines and tanks at my choke. They can still fire on stuff going through the middle.

ET now has a lot more tanks and bunkers and turrets so I think "Great, a turtle." He scans my partner a couple times. My partner dislikes this very much and yells at ET, "STOP FRIGGIN' SCANNING ME!!!!" Apparently ET noticed, along with me, how wide open my partner's main is, and just a minute later 4 dropships filled with marines drop into the back of his base. My partner, of course, screams for help. I had to come and save him with my marines and tanks, and I ended up sustaining some casualties. My partner's CC and most of his SCV's are destroyed. "Ooh, that motherf*cker's gonna pay now!" he swears. He starts rebuilding. Oddly, he never moved the marines that were guarding my expansion to save himself. I didn't really need them either, since I had a mobile wraith squad ready to defend myself anyway.

So I finally decide on nukes to break the turtle. I make a nuke silo instead of a 2nd comsat at my expansion and get to work on some ghosts. Well guess what happens again. More dropships unload more marines and kill more of my partner. He screams for help one more time. I fight off the enemy (again) and my partner is a wreck. He then proclaims "I'm attacking now!" and sends every one of his marines that were guarding me single-file into the enemy's front door defenses. You can guess what happened to them.

Not long after that ET nukes all of my partner's supply depots, which just happened to be convienently on the side near ET's base. Oh joy. The old dropship thing happens again and this time I decide not to save my partner. :) I take the time to nuke the front door of ET, which I think took out a bunch of tanks, but I wasn't all that positive. My partner dies. So now it's just me and this other Terran.

He actually wasn't too bad, better than the other two guys were. I eventually managed to blast my way in with wraiths tanks and marines (using the wraiths to kill enemy tanks mostly) and we exchanged GG's. I probably could have saved myself a lot of aggravation by just leaving the game as soon as no rush was decided on. But then I wouldn't have written this cool battle report. :D
