WyvernGod & Raiddx vs. Freezer & Regulatin_Niga

And they're off! Team RaidGod vs. Team FreezingNiga faces off in the map known to us; well probably not most of you; as Rivalry. Both team has shown strengths and weaknesses and it's all up to who backstabs their partner first to turn this quickly into a one sided 3 v 1 .. .err ... that's not how the match went? Well, than ...

Both teams start mining as quickly as they can, some not so quickly as others and Freezer and Wyvern drawning Zerg starts moving their slow lumbering blimps known as overlords slowly in a random direction hoping to crush unsuspecting SCV's underneath. This map should call for whomever is the more offensive team to have an edge as everyone starts in their respective corners along the map and Raiddx, Wyvern, Freezer and Regulatin all happen to be exactly polar opposites of their ally making reinforcements a pain in the ass to send. Freezer starts with a brown zerg at top left, Raiddx with Teal Terran (who he claims is his worst race as he clearly demonstrates in this match. *g* j/k Raiddx or this report wouldn't be nearly an hour long would it now?) at top right, Regulatin commanding the stalwart but not so zealous Protoss (As you will see in the report) under the flag of orange at bottem right, and Wyvern commanding the imbalanced colour of purple with the zerg brood at his beckon wondering why those hydras never use their long ass spines to ever stab someone.

Each team begins with their different build orders which I advise never to try at home kids. Anyway for those of you wanting another loss on Big Game Hunters, here they are:

Freezer with a pool at nine, overlord later, some lings and a hatch probably going to try to catch some offguard with that cheesy 4 pool ... err... nine pool rush and than teching safely.
Raiddx with a barracks at eight, and depot at ten, and cancelling that to Wyvern's orders to wallin (I can only guess cause nobody remembered to allied chat with the observer, lousy bastards. No witty comments for Drace.) and than a double depot (having canceled his previous depot) and another barracks going for a safe tech/power route.
Wyvern is the only who does a nine overlord, than hatch at expand and pool at eleven which almost proved troublesome. However, the gamble at early expand shall pay off in the late game no doubt if he succeeds in pulling this off.
Regulatin does a somewhat defensive build order with two pylons at nine, a forge later, a gateway and than some cannons by his ramp and a zealot.

The first bit of action comes along when the zergling scouts send out, attacks wyvern's budding hatch followed quickly later by more of his zergling brethrens eager to destroy the hatch because purple wasn't the same colour they were. Those racist bastards. Wyvern responds quickly with either, "HELP RAIDDX!" or by building a creep colony and hatching a few lings to stall till the colony finishes. I think it could've been both cause around the same time, Raiddx declared to hold tight cause he was counter brown (Freezer) soon. The sunken eventually finishes after Freezer cleans off Wyvern's lings but quickly put to rest Freezer's attack and not even the reinforcing zealot sent by Regulatin budges it. Wyvern responds also by placing another colony for additional defense before hatching some lings for a counter.

After a moment, two healthy control groups of lings and a good amount of marine/medic/firebat gather outside of Freezer's ramp. Freezer seeing this with a scouting ling quickly sends half his drones to half guard his two ramps sunkens and quickly builds more. The results weren't too pretty when the lings ran in first but nevertheless the following Terran infantry proves to be more than a match for two sunkens and three budding ones and also easily wipes out the defending drones leaving only a few mining. Things are looking bad for Freezer till Regulatin sends in six zealots in time to halt the offensive along with the two now finished sunkens taking care of the terran infantry. The zealots take a minute to remark how brown's sunkens looks remarkably like purple's and was chased out by the racist zerg as a result and forced to guard the mineral expansion outside for the rest of their career.

Examining the situation now, Freezer had taken a good hit to his drone economy but still manages to keep a good portion of his tech branch to a lair, an evo branch and a hydra den which I'm guessing is used to research lurkers in time. A sunken is placed behind his minerals to prevent drops from wiping out drones I'm guessing. All the players has started mining gas in earnest with Regulatin teching to templars and Wyvern just getting his hydra den. Raiddx soon starts on a barracks, an engineering bay and a factory and eventually starport. Regulatin also has only cannons in his base to defend his as his zealots are all sent to guard his ally. He also stops building probes at this point oddly. Wyvern is the only player with a running expansion at this moment having laid claim to his mineral expansion early. Freezer also had three wayward drones which fled from the first attack kill the remaining spying medic. Raiddx vowed revenge for his ho - that is to say ... unit.

The next few minutes, Raiddx builds random turrets all over his base, an assorted amount of infantry and queues up three more dropships to ship more ho's - medics. Wyvern claims his second expansion between him and Regulatin in a gutsy move but considering Orange is building nothing but templars, we'll see what happens. Regulatin also attempts to build an expansion between Raiddx and Freezer for some reason at the top middle but cancels it when a scouting ling passes by. Storm has been researched as well as lurkers by Freezer. Freezer also starts up a spire. After a ling scout sent by Wyvern, Regulatin starts sending random zealots to scout forcing me to bite my tongue from making the report, "A ZEALOT IS NOT A SCOUT! BUILD MORE PROBES DAMNIT!" However, he also wisely chooses to have several scouts that is to say, zealots spread out among the bridges to alert of enemy movements.

At around the ten minute mark, Freezer successfully expands between him and Wyvern somehow despite the fact that little did Wyvern know he could've ran over the fledging expansion with his superior amount of lurkers had he tried. Well, that's what scouting and not scouting does. Speaking of which ... here comes the stroke of unluck for team RaidGod, Raiddx gathered enough troops to fill 4 dropships as well as a vessel escort, on the way, Freezer also tries to drop Raiddx with two lurkers. The overlord passing by notices the squadron of dropships leaving Raiddx' base prompting most likely, "Oh shit" from both players having been sighted and also sighting the imminent danger. Freezer quickly grabs a batch of scourge as well as a scant few hydras managing to barely save himself from disaster killing two dropships loads of troops. the remaining infantry quickly deals with the zealots and with three bats, 2 rines and 4 medics, trudges on to hunt down the drone line. A decent amount of damage was done to the gas mining drones before Freezer flees the rest till his overlord comes back with the lurkers and with two lurkers and three hydras, deals with the rest of the terran threat. Regulatin techs up to two stargates for corsairs and also a robotics off only one gas vent! he also moves his troops out to his mineral expansion to ... expand to Freezer's mineral expansion?!! WTF?! once the nexus warps in, he queues up to five probes. I sigh after those five probes arrive as I didn't think he made anymore afterwards. Wyvern also gets double evolutionary chambers for upgrades. YAY! Raiddx also apparently upgraded when nobody was paying attention. Team FreezingNiga has no upgrades at the moment.

After this, regulatin storms a burrowed lurker on the way to Raiddx' men not realizing that one storm doesn't kill a lurker anymore. He also pulls off a very cost effective storming at Raiddx' marines before having one of his high templars killed and the other chased off by two tanks. However, this would've still been a cost effective trip had he built MORE PROBES after his six at his expansion! : ( Freezer quietly teches to queens and than hive later with Wyvern powering units from soon to be multiple hatcheries.

The standing armies at the moment are Freezer's scourges, hydra, lings and lurkers. Raiddx' army is vessels, medic/marine/bats and occasional tanks. Regulatin gets a weapon upgrade for his zealots, and is using templars along with corsairs occasionally. Wyvern is using basic units of lings, hydras and lurkers. All the main's are running dangerously low at the moment forcing the players to expand to at least their mineral only. Raiddx is the only player to have not expanded yet but is fortifying his mineral only though you could hardly call Regulatin's six probes working on minerals an expansion. : (

Random storm raids to lure Wyvern's troops is pulled off nicely as storm provoking the purple zerg over lurker grounds. However, it hardly mattered as Wyvern had 5K in reserve!!!@#!? Jeez Wyvern, you could've just dropped mineral surplus over Freezer and kill him probably. = ( <= more sad smilies. Corsair raids and minour skirmishes are done with Wyvern fortifying the expansion between him and Freezer. Freezer is teching to defiler mound and wyvern getting a hive. Regulatin transfers his probes from the empty mineral field to his mineral expansion. That is ... transfering them right over Wyvern's lurkers. Needless to say, they died rather quickly and yet he never replaces his probes. Regulatin plays the rest of the match with twelve probes either in an attempt to show off or something. I never inquired to not interfere with the matchup. Wyvern also attempts to attack Regulatin while teching to defiler mound but was easily repulse by a large force of dragoons and zealots. How Rgulatin afforded to keep up? Possibly cause one of his opponents had seven thousand minerals and a thousand gas in the bank. The name shall be stricken from SC annals to save him the embarrassment. Also Freezer attempted to swarm the bridge between him and RAiddx' expansion but didn't realize that swarm needs to cover a larger radius than he gathered. I seriously think he would've dealt more damage by just attack moving without the swarm but nevertheless bothced and didn't even scratch paint of the two tanks and a bunker. Well, maybe it scratched the paint. Wyvern managed to sneak up two lurkers behind Regulatin's ONLY working expansion wiping out all but two probes. Regulatin NEVER replaces these and plays now with only TWO PROBES! Regulatin also had a losing skirmish with WyvernGod at Wyvern's mineral only which is mined out. Wyvern also expands between Raiddx and Regulatin while I wasn't looking. RAiddx also manages to get nukes and tech to ghosts (obviously) somehow. Pretty gutsy vs. a zergie but hey, whatever works ... and it does! Wiping out three dragoons, two gateways, a cannon, pylons, a stargate and some other things. Thsi probably inflames orange as it'll take a damn long time for two probes to save up to replace that and as a result, rushes wyvern's most recent expansions with zealots and dragoons wiping it off the face of the map. Freezer teches to greater spire and also manages to collect some guardians. Wyvern teches to spire at the same time.

The next piece of action happens when Raiddx somehow engages Regulatin's zealot with his marine/medics and NOT his dragoons. That's pretty damn hard to do considering the zealots and dragoons were on the SAME screen! needless to say, 3/1 marine/medics owns a scant 1/0/0 zealots. However, Freezer manages to distract Raiddx with enough plague and guardian raids at his expansions to drop successfully 15 hydras and a defiler at RAiddx' main! Wyvern also killed Regulatin's mineral expansion with two lurkers somehow but it doesn't matter cause it was only making about a hundred minerals per hour anyway. I think Raiddx' comment of "HELP!" inspired Wyvern to move his army towards Raiddx' base slowly. Unfortunately for Freezer, his defiler was used to cast swarm instead of plague. Nevertheless, they do a decent amount of damage to Raiddx' supply and tech tree. Regulatin expands between him and Raiddx, WyvernGod attempts to stop this by sending zerglings single file and we all know how wonderful that works as Regulatin suffers ZERO casualties and minimal damage to his shields repulsing the assault easily. however, Raiddx launches another two nukes at Regulatin's fledging expansion which locates the bulk of his dragoon army as well as the invading guardians from Freezer at his own expansion. The nuke towards Freezer was directly and completely avoided but the second nuke DEVASTATES REgulatin as he has no way to replenish his army at all. Regulatin fianlly builds more probes to long distance mine from his mineral only but Freezer manages to wipe Raiddx' expansion located in between them despite valiant irradiates and the occasional scourge reinforcements from Wyvern. RAiddx also performs another drop on Freezer for kicks. Also Freezer gets it into his head that somehow six drones owns 2/2 lurkers. That didn't exactly work out for him either. I have no idea what the whole thing was about eitehr. I mean jeez man, you had three guardians just a little click away! Well eventually Freezer gets tired and sends his guardians after losing his drones to the purple lurker and expands to his mineral only. After that the game was pretty much over as Wyvern mass attacks the expansions shortly afterwards along with Raiddx' marine/medic/irradiate to take care of the guardians and run over Freezer's main. Regulatin disconnects shortly afterwards mysteriously. (Hehe) and Freezer mass sunkens at his last bastion of hope but as we know. Guardians > sunkens.
