Good-evening honorable comrades. I've noted some comments about my previous, admittedly crappy, battle report which managed to scramble a miserable 4.0. Now, this could well be my last report depending on you guys. If I score more 5.0 or more I shall probably continue my noble cause of BR writing. If not...well, FUCK IT! I figure that because I used a custom map in my previous report people were not accustomed to the situation surrounding the battle. Anyway…I have also decided to use punctuation (hoorah…) and NOT to write it in under half an hour this time (he he) to avoid stupid mistakes like "spiders are insects" =)
ANYWAY!
This battle occurred about two days ago. I decided to give the warriors of Aiur a go for this oncoming slaughter. Personally I hate FFAs, as you tend to focus on defence, rather than offence (that's what I usually do anyway). I patiently waited for a few minutes till we had a full house. So basically it was me as Protoss, buh-bye() as Zerg and two Terrans, Red^Hawk1 and Slutty_Cat (!).
The war had begun and I was positioned at 12 o'clock, buh-bye at 9, Red Hawk at 3 and Slutty Cat at 6. Right… I started my usual 7 Probes, pylon, send Probe scouting, assimilator routine for Dragoons. Alas, my brave Probe was carelessly killed by a Marine the moment it hovered in Red Hawk's base.
I sort of dislike Zealots as they tend to get ripped apart by Terran infantry, as I knew there were two of them on the map. So in little time I had three gateways, pumping Dragoons which were backed by a nearby battery and was warping two robotics facilities. My strategy was rather simplistic you might say, even approaching rookie standards. I would grab those two island expansions ASAP, focus heavily on defence and then launch a mighty assault. I just managed to warp in two Reavers, when all of a sudden Mr. Red Hawk decided to knock on my door and ask me if I had any sugar. He was extremely rude as he used arclite cannons for this purpose. Needless to say, I was insulted and responded by slaughtering his incoming infantry, by taking out the medics first and dropping my two plasma-spitting caterpillars right next to the wretched tanks with the use of a Shuttle. After the smoke had settled I quickly took two Probes to the two islands and managed to warp two nexus when my minerals allowed me to do so. I quickly then started sending in troops on the two islands with my two Shuttles. These expansions were soon backed up by photon cannons.
During this period I had no idea whatsoever of what Slutty Cat and buh-bye were up to, which worried me. Therefore I resulted in pumping in some Observers. (I heavily invested on these throughout the game). By now, I had a respectable force of Dragoons, two flourishing expansions and was in the process of warping in some Carriers from my three brand new stargates. Things looked good. But what about the other three? Could they be planning something equally as deadly? I found out soon enough as numerous tanks started hammering on my beloved Dragoons, leaving nothing but a lake of blue fluid scattered by bits of Dragoon armour. Things didn't look so bright after all…the bastard…To make things worse, in come the combined forces of Medics and Marines to clear up my poor base. I was in deep shit…My Carriers only had about two Interceptors each so they could do jack shit to marines with medics. For some reason though Red Hawk didn't even attempt to place his Siege Tanks further in my base. Then, I remembered…the Reavers! I was sweating like a pig on heat trying to find the Shuttle containing my beloved war machines. I dropped them ASAP next to the poor Terran bastards which fell like wheat before the scythe. It was wonderful! I figure that if Red Hawk had decided to bring his tanks even closer to my base he would probably had me by the ropes as he would be able to demolish far more buildings than with infantry alone. I wonder if something was distracting him…
His tanks didn't move at all for ten minutes or so, while I was furiously rebuilding my base and adding three shiny Carriers to my existing fleet. I also warped in 6 Dark Templar which I merged into Dark Archons and 4 High Templar. By now I had researched all 2nd level upgrades for air and ground units. All of a sudden though Red Hawk LOST! I though: "Oh shit somebody is kicking ass out there. Is it Slutty Cat or buh-bye?" The answer was swift and aerial! A mass of Mutalisks started pouring in and attacking me by the side! Because of extreme stupidity, that part of the base was inaccessible by my Dark Archons and High Templars as it was covered with pylons and photon cannons! By now though however I had 9 Carriers and sent them into battle. The flying buggers were way too many. I just had to withdraw my Carriers and recharge their shields. Looks like buh-bye really meant business… My Dark Archons at last managed to reach the flying worms and cast maelstrom on them, which was swiftly followed by numerous psionic storms. The whole screen seemed to turn red for a moment but it wasn't just because of the dying mutalisks…PLAGUE. This son of a bitch was good… He managed to plague my massed Carriers, reducing their already reduced HP to near 0. Oh by the way, just for your information, my lower expansion was getting bombarded by Guardians all this time and I hadn't noticed until my Nexus was almost destroyed…>= (
Needless to say, I was pissed off of my stupidity and decided to call it a game…I asked for an allied vision to look at his forces and what I saw shocked me! The bitch had five expansions and sunken and spore colonies every where! So what about Slutty Cat? For some reason he was kept barely alive in his own, poorly defended, base. I recon buh-bye must have starved him.
I must say I was badly defeated in this game and the fact that I actually thought I had a chance rubs it in further…Maybe Carriers was a bad idea.
