-GoW-Striker vs. xmank

Opponents -GoW-Striker Xmank
Race Terran Zerg

Its a saterday evening and I am progressing getting tired from working on my computer all night. I was looking at some battle reports and asked myself. Why havent I tried this out for myself yet? Well I guess what. I actually got around to preparing this Battle Report I had with some random guy on Battle.net. Well anyway this is how it started. I made a game called 1v1 Practice. The map was Showdown (ladder) and I decided that it was going to be a friendly game. I was waiting for a bit for someone to join the game and eventually Xmank came in.

So the game starts. We both had random selected so I had no idea who he was at the beginning on the match. So I decide on building a large force of Mariens really early in the game. But before I can do this I decided on making a Supply Depot before a Barracks. At this point I have 6 SCV's gathering minerals, one being made and one making the Supply Debot. Ussually at this point with the 8th SCV I would go abound looking for my enemy a little earlyer but I figured that the map was too long anyway and by the time it got there I would probably have scan on my command center.

After my supply depot I then made a Barracks climing think if I should climb the tech tree really early in the game concidering this might end up as a air map. I was listening to Tristam from the Diablo II soundtrack while I thinking about it and then I figured my strategy was going to have to be mass units. I quickly made a Bunker far from my base to set a possision to make sure nothing could get into my case easily without falling to my trap awaiting a the sorry idiot who wanted to rush me incase. Well turns out it came in handy.

The guy had the guts to try and rush me early in the game. Fortunite enough I soon learned his race as zerg and quickly soon after repaired my bunker which fended off the early lamer attack. Right here is when I began to notice that my opponent was going to try to be aggressive. Seeing as he might of left his base unattended while he rushed me I brought up a Marien up to his base and behind his resources which was left ungarded. However I had to do something really and not put it in hold posision. It took my MARIEN!

*gasp*

I then decided that it was time to pull out the heavy guns and start making some sweet Barracks. I am listening to Matthew Good Band - Strange Days on WinAmp which hasn't effected the performance of this match up so far and I am then taking my time to start making some Supply Depot's to go with those. I send another guy up to xmank's base to see what he is up too and so far he is making a large enough diffence of Sunken Colonies to take out my Mariens if they ever confronted. I figured then I would have to start getting some expansions going quickly if one of us is going to start getting anywhere.

Once I get a nice pack of Mariens I decided to the right thing and get them by my opponents primary Expansion to make sure to fend off any try at it. I have at this time also made an Academy because I can't get anywhere close to xmank because his base is so screwed. So I make the Scan next to my Command Center and automatically get a good glamps at his base. Which at this point looks like crap because he is just building up his tech up while I've got the units to fent off and attack.

Worse Mistake made here is putting his Spawning Pool and Hydralisk Den right in the front of a possible attack and get taken out easily leaving him with nothing to gather any units if they are taken out easily. Besides the convincing amount of Sunken Spore collonies I figure I might as well just start climbing up my techtry easily. Another mistake made here is the fact that he doesn't have a Second Spawning Pool. While all this is happening I have pretty much gathered enough units alone to take out his lilly ass! So I make two Engineering Bays and being my rampage!

Right now I have pretty much developed my tanks, given them siege mode and given spider mines to the vultures. I made some Medics and Firebats to accompany the camping spot at the top where I don't plan on lettering xmank get anywhere out of this base. I also have then made my expansion like I said I would and has given me a edge to start making any more mass units incase my attack doesn't turn out to be full proof. I scan him again and see he has only made on minor ajustment and that is he has a mutalisk den. I don't bother making air because I now by now my enemy wouldn't have the time or resources to make any additional units to fend off this attack.

I proceed to moving into his base in far range to begin my assult on his Spawning Pool, Hydralisk Den, and his Mutalisk Den which of all 3 he has put infront of his base instead of somewhere in the back. He sends in a pack of 6 minutelisks but my mariens carefully safegaurd my siege tanks with the aid of Medics. Xmark quickly conceeds and then gives up the match. I show him everything I've done and is quite impressed. I felt kind of ancy after defeating him and he wasn't much of an opponent so I figured I'd give him the win by surrendering. And thats the end of my first Battle Report.
