I was in the great channel Nohunter looking for a pick up game when the most wonderful thing happened ever. Twip and -=1999=- were in the same room with me. I was over-run with joy. I have been reading these guys posts forever and now i am in the same channel as them. Just as luck would have it, -=1999=- said that he wanted to play a 2v2 game and he was looking for 3 players. Twip and Ghost(COD) ( i think that was his name .
I entered the game and it was on the map Dire Straits. I don't really play this map much but it looked like fun and I just wanted to play so I chose terran. After a lot of BSing around the game started. The teams were Me and Twip vs. -=1999=- and Ghost. I was Terran and started in the lower left and Twip was Protoss and started lower right. -=1999=- was Protoss and was top left. Fianlly was Ghost, he was top right and was Zerg.
All was quite on the Wester Front and I started my economic build-up. I did the basic 7 rax, 8 depot, 9 refin. I got about 7 marines and looked around my base island a little. There was nothing going on quite yet so i decided to build a factory and then a starport. I finished the factory easily and then proceded to the starport. I finished the starport and made a wraith to scout around a little. That is when i found -=1999=- and he was geting ready for a drop. That is when i said to Twip. I am screwed. I was no where ready to defend a drop now. I only had 3 tanks and 5 marines. I seiged the tanks and held on. -=1999=- attacked with about 8 goons and 2 reavers. i tried with all my might but I just could not fight off that attack. Twip dropped 2 reavers in my base to help fight them off. I survived that battle and only lost all my troops and 1 control tower. I considered myself lucky. Little did I know that there was another drop coming in 2 mins.
This time there was no mercy. I got hit by Ghost and -=1999=- at the same time. Mutas from Ghost and goons and reavers from -=1999=-. I was able to lift off my enginering bay and go to Twip's base and watch the rest of the battle from there but that is where the Terran life ends. Now that I look back and notice what I did wrong it is obvious. I was getting ready for a 1v1 not a 2v2. I only had 3 tanks and 8 marines. I was saying "Come kill me I am a Terran." I learned that you never stop microing on a Terran game. The game lasted about 40 mins but i was out after 20 of them. To sum it up Twip fought off just about everything except a mass Carrier attack that killed him.
This was a great game and I hope to play more of these games with Twip and -=1999=-. Even Ghost was a good sport.
