Lifetime Rating for Chucky: 3.0000 |  | It was about 12 noon on a saturday afternoon. The web-tumble weeds were blowing across the deserted sandy road of the internet and there we see the two brave warriors waiting to dule...
"OI - Start a game" one said in a panic. "Sure, join game 1v1 LT" the other replied.
So, the game was created and I managed to join in the hope that I could watch the great dual between the two greats. Lavender VS UltRa-LiNg. This is truly a great one because these two players knew how each other played and what each other countered for, so it was pretty much sudden death.
The game counted down, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 - like paces taken for a dual and there it began. Lavender got protoss(9 o'clock) from random and UltRa-LiNg got zerg(3 o'clock) from choosing.
UltRa-LiNg seemed to get the upper hand early in the game, because Lavender went for Early expansion. After UltRa-LiNg scouted him with a drone, he saw this so quickly stuck his pool down. At this exact time, Lavender started to warp in his nexus in his natural expansion and a pylon in his main. At about the same time Lavender started to warp in his first gateway, UltRa-LiNg's Spawning Pool was complete. He then straight away started to make some lings, then, he took a drone and started his expansion at about the same time he sent his troops in for attack. Back at Lavender's base he had just about nothing, he was warping in his second gateway, and was producing drones from his expansion and main nexus. When the attack came, the lings were attack quite a bit. He attacked the nexus first, but Lavender used his probes. So, UltRa-LiNg then decided to attack the probes, and with some brilliant probe micro, he took out the attack of the lings. The Zealot then came, but it was a bit too late =
So back at UltRa-LiNg's base, he was putting down gas and his third hatchery. This one was just below his hill. After gas was finished he then put down a hydra den and transformed the main hatchery in a lair.
Lavender's base seemed a bit complicated, he was making some Dragoons, but teching. He then expanded again and defended it up quite securely.
UltRa-LiNg was starting to make many hydras, then he also expanded again, but not to his minerals only, like Lavender, but to the 12o'clock main. UltRa-LiNg had about 36 Hydras in his base then he put down his spire.
Lavender was making quite a few High Teplars, He then sent a probe out to scout and saw the 12 o'clock expansion, but UltRa-LiNg saw the probe, waiting in the base and knew that Lavender was going to attack. He then sent all his troops to cut him off at the pass and was done correctly. Most of Lavender's Dragoons were killed. 2 were left who ran far away. UltRa-LiNg didn't attack straight aways after that, exept it seemed so, he actaully stayed outside Lavender's base and built a few hatcheries at the 3 o'clock mineral only. He then sent a few mutis to the back of Lavender's base...
We stop there to look at lavender's expansion. He had 1 cannon, 1 goon and 3 stormers. He was rebuilding most of his force...
...and attacked the mineral line. Lavender then ran all his probes away and started to try and storm the mutis. Unfortunately, UltRa-LiNg started to play around with his mutis, running the up and down, so Lavender wasted about 4 storms for nothing, then changed two of his templars into an archon. This archon did kill all the mutis, but Lavender had about 1 templar left, and 1 storm, it seemed. UltRa-LiNg sent in his 2-2 Hydras and killed the stormer quite quickly as well as the archon.
Lavender then had nothing exept for the few units building. These units died quickly when they came out and UltRa-LiNg attacked the west of Lost Temple and killed off Lavender.
This was a great example of how zerg micro can be used. With mutis that run around and waste all of protoss's storms and then send in the mass hydras.
