Heyhey! This is gonna be the first The Big Push battle report ever! For those who don't know the game I'll explain what it is. TBP is a PC game that is about 3 years old. It's a game like Close Combat but with a view like Starcraft. In the beginning of a mission you get a certain amount of Supply Points with which you can buy troops. You don't have a base or any buildings in the game and you can't build more troops. Well, that's about it. Now over to the report. Oh by the way! I forgot to make screenshots, sorry 'bout that.

The game was fought between [VI]Prophet and Warmammoth. The map was "D-Day revisited" where one player has to invade the territory of the other. The game ends when all troops of the opposing player or destroyed or when one surrenders. Prophet chose to invade with his Venom forces (The Venom is one of the 3 civilizations with which you can fight). Warmammoth took control over the Sheppard Dynasty and defended his coastline against Prophet.

Prophet got 7500 Points to spent while Warmammoth only got 5000. Prophet got more for more troops because otherwise he would lose most of his men while he was landing them. Prophet didn't use the 2500 Points for more troops however. He used them to get a Neo-Iowa Battleship for Artillery support, 3 Black Spirits (Stealth Bombers) and 3 Airhoppers (planes that can drop Paratroopers). The Airhoppers could only be used 3 times so he had to use them carefully. Prophet spent about 2000 Points at Terrorwheels (Big wheels that explode when they hit something and cause much destruction) for breaking down the enemy defenses, 1000 Points for MT-18's (a normal tank) and the last 2000 Points for mixed infantry like HMG's (Heavy Machine Gunners), Pyradons (Flamethrowers) and Thunderstorms (infantry with twin rocket launchers on their back).

Warmammoth spent about 1000 points for Armoured Bunkers and he loaded them with Laser Cobra's (infantry with 2 Laser guns that are devastating against infantry) and Androids (basic infantry with a machinegun and handgrenades). That infantry cost him another 1000 Points. 1000 Points he spent for basic defenses like Barbed Wire, Jumpers (mines that jumps up while activated and do a lot of damage to infantry and light vehicles) and Dragoonteeth (anti-tank blockades). 500 Points were used to buy Flycatchers (Missile launchers against aircraft), and 2500 points for Spiders (tanks that fire many small missiles at once) that were in Elite status (You can buy normal troops, Trained troops or Elite troops. Elite cost more then Trained and Trained cost more then normal). Finally the battle could begin.

Prophet bombarded the coastline with his battleship and his Black Spirits. The result were 2 killed Black Spirits, 1 destroyed Armoured Bunker and 3 damaged Armoured bunkers. Prophet sent in his first squad of Hovercrafts with Terrorwheels. They could be unloaded without problems but about 50% of the Terrorwheels were destroyed by the Jumpers and the concentrated fire of the Laser Cobra's before they could reach their target. The other Terrorwheels had a huge succes. Almost every Armoured bunker was destroyed and because Warmammoth didn't unload his Bunkers in time, the infantry inside was killed because of the Armoured Bunker that fell on their heads. Warmammoth panicked when Prophet dropped his 3 Paratrooper Squads at once. They managed to destroy some Spiders but Warmammoth had enough of them AND they were Elite so he could kill the Paratroopers before they could inflict real damage.

While Warmammoth was busy regroup his remaining Laser Cobra's and Androids, Prophet landed his real invasion force. His MT-18's landed first to crush the Barbed Wire and because they could take the damage of the Jumpers. Warmammoth regrouped his infantry at his last undamaged Armoured Bunker and loaded it full with Laser Cobra's. They could kill off some damaged enemy tanks. But when the infantry of Prophet landed he panicked seeing that he had Pyradons (The flamethrowers of the Pyradons and they inflict damage directly to units in a building or a bunker). Warmammoth placed his Androids in front of his bunkers to take the damage and set his Laser Cobra's they couldn't be loaded anymore in the bunker at the left flank of his troops while his Spiders covered from the right. The Cobra's inflicted some real damage to Prophet's infantry and the Spiders did some heavy damage too. The victory was safe for Warmammoth but then Prophet did something very stupid (but it helped!) He bombarded the Bunker with his Neo-Iowa battleship and his remaining Black Spirit.

The Black Spirit was killed before it could bombard his target. The Neo-Iowa battleship bombared the Bunker but killed also much damage to his own troops. The Bunker finally collapsed while the Laser Cobra's were still inside. The only good thing for Warmammoth was that the Pyradons were dead and he still had some Spiders. The Thunderstorms of Prophet however, had killed enough men to get the Trained status so they inflicted more damage and with some micromanagement Prophet managed to destroy the Spiders but he had heavy losses at his side too. The game ended when Warmammoth left the game. The victory was close for him but the bold move of bombarding with the battleship helped Prophet to get the win. It was a very close game (Prophet only had 3 Thunderstorms, 6 HMG's and 1 immobilised tank left). I hope you enjoyed it without the screenshots. C yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
