Oh yes, 1 life. No respawning. Nothing, you die and the game ends, you lose.

The Map was Palace Gates, simply because I wanted some wide open spaces so I could use the speed of a little mech without the fear of bashing into a building. (Also because I already made an Ascii map of it and so I won't have to do that again! ^o^)

My mech was a heavily modified shadow cat. The shadow cat is a 45 ton mech which usually travels around 100 kph.

"Once, Slayer joined my mech four game, and he tried to play us 5 v 1, and he stripped all his armor off and added speed to a 30 ton mech and so he went 135 kph, but our lasers went the speed of light, so needless to say he got fucking raped." ^o^

Well, I wasn't quite as extreme as slayer. I left my armor alone, since I already had prescious little of it, I did turn it into a special laser reflective type of armor though because lasers in this game are basically instantaneous. (Speed of light)The lasers were what I figured would be hitting my speedy little mech.

And boy was is speedy, this Cat travels faster than the forum can scroll when people try and flame slings! I upped it to 117 KPH. Now, in a team game, using a tiny fast mech like this, I would add on a beacon which would help my compadres get a missile lock as I sprinted ahead weaving inbetween the enemy heavies and mediums. It makes their LRM lock time much shorter, and it may even add a little to their range, I'm not sure. No need for a beacon 1v1 though, so instead, I put on a LAMS (Laser Anti Missile System) since short range missiles don't really need a lock to follow you.

Now on to the fun stuff, for weaponry I added a PPC (my heavy hitter, meant to do my real damage and to knock his cockpit off course making it harder still for him to find my speedy and low to the ground self. Then if my memory serves, I did SRMs (not many), 4 medium lasers (the normal kind since they weighed less. I was gonna be making strafing runs on his back, now continuously attempting to fire on his with pulse lasers, so I opted for the lighter weight and the higher single shot laser fire damage.)I stripped my jump jets (not much use without buildings to get on top of imho)

So anyways, I'm all pumped. I launch the game, fire up ye olde reactor, test out my weapons groupings, making sure I created an alpha strike button that'll unload everything I have at once. Then Vrroooooooom! My radar picks up King[LRS-13] Whoa, he's close! I quickly toggle my active radar to passive so the mofo can't hunt me down so easy. Rev my engine up and I quickly accelerate to full speed. I swing to the right, making my approach behind one of the palace walls. I'm on a hill, he is in a courtyard below, populated with buildings. This is a bad place for me to engage him, the wide strafing runs I want to use to keep my speed at full will be interfered with by buildings. But I figure on the up side, I can hide behind buildings while my mech dissipates heat. So I pop up over the crest of the hill, he isn't facing me, since I probably just appeared on his radar now. Alpha strike on his Gyro. I check my HUD to see how bad off he is.

Oh my god. This is the delayed reaction where it occurs to me. 1. That's a 100 ton Daishi, weighing 55 tons more than me. 2. My alpha strike hasn't put any of his body parts in the red yet. I have now passed from beside him to in front of him in my moment of shock. I quickly being zig zag running to avoid his fire and missile locks, then I duck behind a building.

Earlier that day, I had seen the awesome might of 2 shadow cats versus 1 Daishi. But, the problem is, the other shadow cat pilot had been good, I didn't have that luxury, hell I don't even have a joystick. Oh well, when I die the game is over anyways, right? So, why not!? I sweep in a wide arc our from behind the building, he has started ponderously walking around the other side of the building and I open up another alpha strike on him. Well... I think If I had connected with the ppc, this one might've put his gyro in a very light yellow. But I didn't, the PPC on my right arm slammed into the building and everything else warmed up his backside a little. He swiveled his turret torso and began turning. I jerked to the left, and kept poured on the speed. I began swiveling my turret to get my crosshairs on him while still running in the same direction.

That's when I went. THUNK. Ya.... couldn't see where I was going with my torso twisted towards him. I slammed full speed into a building, my torso was knocked way off corse and reverse isn't nearly as fast as forward, so he got a good shot on me. Happily, it all slammed into my arm! I live! I just lose the arm. So what's that mean? (I'm got 1 arm with lasers and 1 with PPC and lasers) Well... that means the PPC is gone.

Well, maybe I can still take out his legs, even though I really have nothing left that can damage him. I center my torso, kick it into forward, and twist around that mother facking buildo. Zig zag to evade and twist to safety around the next building. I come around the building, and he's waiting. Ruh roh, fast learner. ZVRROOOOOOOOOOOOOM! Full frontal alpha strike from a Daishi. He aimed high so I could still run, but I didn't have one single weapon left working. So, I did what any self respecting punk ass coward would do, I kicked my mech (twice as fast as his) into forward and ran far far far out onto the plains surrounding the castle. Then, I checked to make sure it was still on passive radar so he couldn't track me, and set it on a straight course. The final touch to my plan was to boot up ICQ ^o^ there was a 10 minute time limit to the game and he was gonna pay for that slow beast of his, one way or another.

I was going to embed Staying Alive in this report, but Johnny said No MP3's so :o anyways, the game ends and he won for doing more damage. GG! ^o^ HE never did kill me tho!
