Dark Star

Cheeseknight
VS
-Warbringer
Hello, everyone. This is MysteryMan, and this is my first ever battle report. I was surfing battle.net one day, and I discovered that two of my friends, Cheeseknight, and -Warbringer- were on. I'd been eager to do a battle report for a while, so I messaged them. They agreed to go 1v1, and I chose the map Dark Star. You can see it above, and I'm sorry for it being blurry.
Also, please view this report in Internet Explorer. I'm just beginning HTML, and I'm not going to take lots of time to display it right in Netscape.
Be warned: This report is 18 images. Get a snack or something.
Early Game
Cheeseknight had chosen the Protoss and landed in the 10 o'clock position. His enemy, -Warbringer- appeared on the 7 o'clock position, having selected the Terran.
Cheeseknight moved quickly and sent all his probes to begin mining. After awhile, he built a pylon, followed by a Gateway. Shortly afterwards, he build an assimilator, followed by another Gateway. He started to produce numerous Zealots, and then made a pylon so he could continue making more.

-Warbringer- also moved quickly. He made a barracks at about the same time as Cheeseknight's Gateway. He started a supply depot while his barracks was building, and then made marines. He added another supply depot, then added two bunkers at his choke. He built an academy, and then two more depots were built at his choke.

During this time, both players began to scout. -Warbringer- found Cheeseknight's base first, thanks to a lucky comsat sweep(I say lucky because it was his first scan) After a long while, Cheeseknight finds his opponent’s base.
Mid Game
-Warbringer- seemed to be acting defensively. He brough several firebats and medics to his choke. Also, he constructs an outpost on the plateau next to his base.
Cheeseknight, however, is not acting very defensive. He had made an attacking force of several Zealots, and a few dragoons.
Would -Warbringer survive the attack? If the enemy got through his choke, it would be over, for he had no units in his base. I was thinking that this would be a quick game when Cheeseknight sent his forces down to -Warbringer's base.

No, the battle is not yet over. Cheeseknight could have won though, but he lost due to poor micromanagement. -Warbringer- had put those depots there for a reason. The Zealots and Dragoons went for the depots first, giving the Firebats, Marines, and Medics the first strike. The Zealots turned on the firebats, but they lost, due to the medics healing the firebats. Cheeseknight ran away with 1 dragoon, while -Warbringer- lost 2 firebats, 1 medic, 1 marine, and a depot...pretty bad, huh? He replaced his losses in a matter of minutes.
-Warbringer- started the construction on a science facility, while Cheeseknightbegan an outpost(At the 2 o'clock position)and began to rebuild his forces.
End Game

Cheeseknight made a new attacking force, consisting of Zealots, Dragoons, and Dark Templar. At his new outpost, he began building Starports and Robotics Facilities. Reavers and Corsairs soon began to emerge.

-Warbringer still did not produce many offensive units. He still seemed to be playing defensively. Suddenly, I looked at his outpost...

I watched as -Warbringer loaded up a ghost into his dropship and sent it towards Cheeseknight's base. He could be in serious trouble, for he had few photon cannons, and no observers.
-Warbringer- dropped off his ghost, cloaked it, and sent it in to the base.

The Aftermath

Cheeseknight quickly produced some observers...but, before they could reach his main(For they were produced at his outpost), -Warbringer- launched ANOTHER nuke. The results...

Cheeseknight, at this point, abandoned his main, and starts producing more key buildings at his expansion.
-Warbringer...pretty much did nothing, except make another nuke. He once again, loaded up the ghost, and sent the dropship to the expansion...
But, wait! Cheeseknight's safe, right? He made observers...but they were at his abandoned main! The nuke hit.

Cheeseknight was quite upset...when another nuke was detected. He had observers, and commented, "I see your dot"...that was right over his units. I laughed, because he should have moved his units way first, and then comment.

My Thoughts
I thought that Cheeseknight could have won this game, but he was careless. Had he micromanaged better on his first attack, he could have gotten into -Warbringer's base and wrecked havoc. Also, he should have probably used his observers better...being beaten by nukes is sad...especially when you consider that -Warbringer- made no other attacks in the game!
Thanks for reading everyone! Please comment, I want to make my Battle reports better! ...oh, yeah!
Hi, Sid!
