Bwahahaha! This thing is loaded with images, so kick your computer and wake that lil mouse up, cuz he's gonna hafta be running that wheel mighty hard to load all of them before Christmas. So I tell you, go take your crap, feed your animals, eat your supper, whatever you need to do while this loads, because when it is done, you will be GLUED to this monitor reading my FIRST BR EVER! It'll probly suck...but humor me!

Pffffft....you finally finished?

Well...have you ever been in a game and just NOT been able to take down an opponent's expansion? Ever become OBSESSED with it? Don't deny it, we all know you have, and so have I (actually I haven't, I'm just trying to make you feel better...I'm perfect in every way...).
One man's quest for another's expansion was so great, that I decided I'd make a br outta it...this is my first, so bear with me here...

Starting off...

So...I was sitting in nohunters one day when I noticed a 1v1 fixing to start with like 394398398 obs for it...so me, in all my rudeness, decided I'd join and hope not to get banned. Well...I got in, and I didn't get banned (*gasp!*). So anyways, before I make more of an idiot out of myself by rambling on about pointless things, like how my dog just had puppies and they're so cute...one of them is named Piggy...I think we're going to keep him...he's great, the only problem is he pees all over the carpet...

Err...sorry...so on with the game info.

Map- Some wierd map that some dude made...

Players- )Snow- vs EnThuseD

And they're off!

)Snow- chooses Protoss and lands in top left, whereas EnThuseD chooses Zerg and lands in bottom right. The map, as you can see in the picture to the right, has a LOT of expansion areas, and both players will take full advantage of this. Now, if you're a gosu gamer like myself, you'll notice that almost every expansion also provides the opponent with an opportunity to flank in large battles, this will be very important later on in the game...

)Snow- starts off with a...classic I guess...toss build, pylon on the 8th and gate on the 10th. He then goes out of the norm, however, and expands in the expansion directly beneathe him. This expansion will be referred to as 10:00 the rest of the game...

EnThuseD also takes a slight risk, considering the size of this map, and goes 8ovie - drones - hatch. He builds his spawning pool after orange has 2 zealots...orange had the upper hand most of the way through the first part of the game.

Had )Snow- continued pumping zealots and sent a (newbieish) 8-12 zealot run at EnThuseD, he almost certainly would've won. But, obviously, he didn't. He built a pylon and a shield battery at his 10:00 expansion, and left only two zealots there.

Meanwhile, EnThuseD was starting to move along. He expanded to the exp directly above him (5:00) and send about 8 lings for support. He then sent a ling scouting...which discovered )Snow-'s expansion, and immediately his "support lings" were running. The stage was set for the first battle, and if )Snow- didn't get some units out soon, things were bleak for his mineral line.

Ah! But what's this? EnThuseD makes a...tactical error I guess (personally I think he fell asleep, and a muscle contraction caused his finger to twitch, thus clicking top left, and running the lings up there) and runs the lings through )Snow-'s expansion, and straight up the bridge to his main, where freshly spawned and blood thirsty zealots are marching out...the lings are easily chewed up by )Snow-'s zealots. First bloodis nothing much...just a tactical error by EnThuseD, but nontheless, the ground is stained with blood, no matter how little.

And so it begins...

As you will see, this game is basically nonstop action. Despite a small period in which both parties expanded and teched (sorta), this game is basically nonstop attacking, as any game should be.

A few minutes after his thwarted attack, EnThuseD's strat shows itself. As you can see in the image to the left, he starts in on a hydra den (gasp!). Everyone expected him to do it, it was only a matter of time until he did....also, about this time, my fellow observer notices something about orange...

Now, for those of you that cant read with the assimilator behind it...he said "masssssssss cannons"...it will be these "mass cannons" that keep some of his expansions alive later on...(not really mass, maybe 2 or 3 per expansion...). My esteemed sidekick also notices something about EnThuseD. After building a BUNCH of hatcheries, then building some more...

Now, once again for those of you that are blind, he said "lots of larvae floating around =(". This was very true, and I would think that brown would be concerned with the number of larvae he had floating around...anyways, he put those larvae to good use and spawned a bunch of drones to overmine his expansion / main, evidently he is thinking of expanding again.

*Chuckles*, about all I could do is laugh at this GODLY building placement...I just thought you guys might want to take a peek out how awesome our orange friend is at trapping his goons...err..placing his buildings...

Minimap update!

If you have gosu eyes, you will notice that EnThuseD is taking yet another expansion, at 3:00. )Snow- appears to be growing larger by the minute, and...to brown's despair...he is. If he were to attack right now, he most surely would win, as all brown has is a force of 9-12 hydras. But, he doesn't (of course..that would've been a LOSER br...this prolly still will be...but oh well) and instead he sits back and lets brown take quite a few expansions. The funny thing is, it appeared to me the reason he was doing this is because he was intent on doing the same thing, and so for the next several minutes both players expanded and protected these expansions...it was a very boring time...therefore I'll skip ahead to when the action starts, you'll only be missing a couple expansions...

Because you missed out, I'll give ya a lil picture update!

While he was expanding, my obs'ing buddy noticed something...so I decided to take action...

Yep, you read right, from here on out, the one formerly known as )Snow- will now be known as Cans. If you can't figure out where I got that from from that lil chat image, you need to be shot :(. Anyways, back to the game, after all expanding and boring stuff was done, this is what the minimap looked like :

So, as you can see, Cans has taken a 9:00 expansion and a 12:00 expansion, meanwhile EnThuseD has taken 3:00 and 6:00. Clearly, the toss should overpower the zerg if both have equal income, but for some reason Cans continues to produce from only THREE gateways...three working bases, three gateways. The funny part is, throughout the game Cans has complained nonstop, and lately he'd been complaining about compiling resources...wtf is wrong with this guy...

Things heat up!

This is when the "Epic Expansion" first emerges...on a routine scouting mission, a zergling is fried at Cans' 9:00 expansion. Cans sees this and immediately expects an attack force from EnThuseD. He was dead on in his assumption, as EnThuseD sends a small attack force on the expansion...expecting to not encounter much resistance...boy was he wrong.

Cans quickly sends a counter force to Brown's 6:00 expansion, and rallies in the field outside...look in the picture down below, see the circles and the "oops"? Those are burrowed zerglings.
EnThuseD notices the large attack force and immediately sends a group of hydras to his 6:00 to engage from the front, and, smartly sends some to the middle, to flank during the attack. On any other map these groups of hydras, who have the toss well out-upgraded, would've been sufficient, but not this one. The main battle from the front ensues, and just when it appears toss gets the upper hand because of Templars making PSI barbecue out of hydras (see below) the hydras flank from behind. This turns the tides of the attack, but the toss hold it off with a couple stormers and a few goons to spare, who sit there stupidly until another group and a half of hydras arrive to toast them. Apparently Cans decided they were bad little units and needed to die...in any case, they did.

I just had to put this in, you know, the occassional hydra barbeque cheers anyone's day up!

Assault on 9:00

Well, this is where EnThuseD decides it will be fun to blow 398293843982 units trying to take down Cans' 9:00 expansion. I will exclude pictures of this period, which totalled to about 10 minutes, as they are too gruesome to display. I'll give you a quick list of what was going on during this time -
1. Narrow bridge
2. 4 Templar in exp
3. 9-12 goons in exp
4. 4 cannons to cut off bridge flow
5. 100 kabillion hydralisks trying to take this place in line fashion.

Now, if you know anything about the game of starcraft, you know that the 100 kabillion hydras are screwed in that situation.

Breakthrough!

In a smart move by EnThuseD he sent a large attack force on Cans 10:00 expansion. Cans was surprised by this and had to send his support for his 9:00 expansion to 10:00, leaving an opening for the ravenous zerg troops rallied outside, lead off by speedy cracklings, all units fully upgraded, pumped from about 9 hatcheries housed in 4 expansions. The 10:00 expansion did all it could to hold off the attack, and barely did so, but the 9:00 fell to hungry zerglings, as shown below...

As you can see, there is not much that would stop this many troops from overtaking this small expansion, and with no support from the main toss force, it falls quickly.

You should be able to tell from the minimap to the left that the game is pretty much over. EnThuseD has Cans flanked on all sides, and has an enormous amount of units streaming into him. Cans puts up a valiant effort to hold him off...but...that aint gonna happen, Cans makes an interesting decision...

So, in the end, )Snow- was owned by EnThuseD, with a little bit of a fight...basically the game was expand expand expand, macro, action, kill...the final scores were as follows :

Thanks for your time everybody, and I'd appreciate if you'd comment flaming what I did wrong..thanks
